THE INJECTION OF GOD ‘STEALS” AUTHORITY FROM NATURE

    by Bill Joslin

Some of Peterson’s commentary leaves the door open for some abuses. For instance the assertion that truth and science evolved out of and are nested in religious frames. But truth and science has blown that frame apart and the results are atrocious.

    || Science, objective truth ->nested in -> religious, intuitive truth (Christ)->Darwinian utility -> properties of nature.

I disagree and see the religous frame obsolete and leaves us open to future failings.

    || Truth -> Darwinian utility -> Nature

Then injection of God and religion “steals” authority from nature.

    THE FALL DE-ABRAHAMIZED

    The Fall

The King built a great garden with high walls and named it Eden. Angry that it was not perfect without innocence, he purchased from slavers, two most beautiful children, and raised them with the birds, animals, fish, fruits in his garden named Eden. The boy he named Adam, and the girl he named Eve.

The King raised to the boy and the girl in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the King commanded them, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Adam and Eve tended the garden, ate all they wanted from it, and knew nothing of the world beyond its walls save the sounds of birds, the rain and the wind.

The king brought to the garden all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to Adam to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

Now among the animals of the garden was an evil serpent, who was jealous of the love of the king for Adam and Eve. The serpent was more crafty than any of the other animals. He said to the woman, “Did the King really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but the King did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For The King knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be as free men, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.

She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the King as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the King among the trees of the garden. But the King called to the man, “Where are you?”

He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

Then the King said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

So the King said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals!

I send you to the desert where you will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.”

To the woman Eve he said, “From my garden I cast you. Know that your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you. And with painful labor you will give birth to children.”

To the man Adam he said, “From my garden I cast you. Through painful toil you will eat food from the land all the days of your life. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, from it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you will return.”

The King gave garments of skin for Adam and his wife and to cloth them. And the King said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil.”

So the the king banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which they had been taken.

    CAIN AND ABEL DE-ABRAHAMIZED

Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. And in their manhood gave Abel flocks, and Cain Soil, that his sons be fruitful and prosper.

Now Abel kept his flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as a gift to Adam. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. Adam looked with favor on Abel and his gift, but on Cain and his gift he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

Then Adam said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, you will not be accepted; greed and envy desire to have you, but you must rule over it.”

Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Then Adam said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”

“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Adam said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now I curse you drive you from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. You will not work the ground, and it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

Cain said to Adam, “My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”

But Adam said to him, “Not so”; and Adam took Cain and cut his mark on Cain as he would a beast or slave. And adam said “Anyone who kills Cain will suffer my vengeance seven times over.” So Cain went out from Adam’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. Where he married, built a city, and prospered.

Adam made love to his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “Adam has given me another child in place of Abel, because Cain has killed him.”

Adam gave Seth his land and his flocks, and Adam, Eve, Seth and his children prospered.

    SOMEONE NEW WHO UNDERSTANDS!

    by Parker Salingers

Curt Doolittle: I see. So another way to frame it could be: jesus was a great archetypal figure, but the bible is largely wrapped in lies, so you may as well praise the characters in Dostoyevskys novels, because they assume similar moral truths and are probably surrounded by less superstition/falsehood.

And youre right, christianity may have been parsed in ways that were *beneficial* at certain times, and the west certainly had some high points with it as a foundation, but if you look at the history, or even more so the modern countries that have largely embraced xtianity you see this bullshit turn the other cheek universalism that is just cucking those countries into irrelevancy, especially against a system like islam that has no qualms with leeching off christians overzealous universalism, and slitting their throats when theyre done leeching.

That was actually my next observation, but it seemed too long to burden you with. Sure some countries peaked under xtianity, but compared to what? And how have christian nations faired overall in history? And modern times. Not that great, really. All religious states, really. They become literalist and are oppressive and contradictory and suck ass.

I think theres MAYBE an argument that christianity, for a time, inspired the search for absolute truth in the west- bacon, aquinas, et al. But does seem unnecessary today.

Your solution seems to be a system of darwinian truth, and the character rattling around my head is jordan peterson, who i think is dancing with some ideas you are, and im curious how your system would address morality? I actually agree with what youve laid out and think it would produce a strong nation, the strongest. But wheres the moral backbone? I dont see this system relying on any of the half truth philosophers. Kants worthless imperatives. Or really any of the idealists at all.

Thanks for the response. Ive seen you mocked a bit, and never actually looked into your beliefs, but this sounds totally reasonable and could do a lot of good. You’re in for a hell of a battle though. All of those institutions are equal parts evil and powerful.

  • WHY WE ARGUE AGAINST CHRISTIANITY (ALL OF ABRAHAMISM) –“… you dismiss religio

WHY WE ARGUE AGAINST CHRISTIANITY (ALL OF ABRAHAMISM)

–“… you dismiss religion and marxism as a time saver…”—Parker Salingers

Smart, and close. But…We don’t brush it off, we can answer it, but as you say, it’s a time sink, and it takes an intellectually honest opponent. And both time, energy, and intellectually honest opponents are scarce. So we weigh our investments in argument carefully.

ABRAHAMISM AND DECEPTION VS LITERATURE AND TRUTH

So, because monotheistic religions make use of the techniques of abrahamism (conflation, lies, falsehoods, denialism), And because prior to monotheism, law (truth) which is a literature of limits, was separated from mythical ‘religions’ (parables) – which are simply literature of pedagogy (opportunities) – we see no reason why people must be taught lies and superstition, rather than truth and literature, other than that they are not human – only half-domesticated animals, who, like our livestock and our pets, therefore cannot possible have a place in law and politics.

SEEDING LETS US CHEAPLY SEARCH FOR HONEST OPPONENTS

So we settle for repeating the ‘seeds’ of “if it’s good then why must you lie about it?’ And conversely, why has christianity failed to defend us? Why is christianity universalist? Why did vatican II double-down on universalism and conversion rather than personal acts of charity to neighbors? Why did protestant evangelicalism double down on fundamentalism and conversion rather than truth?

    THE CONSEQUENCES OF ABRAHAMISM

It’s not that imitating the jesus myth if stated without supernatural connotations is a bad thing. It’s that the consequences of judaism were the loss of a homeland the adoption of parasitism and near extermination; the consequences of christianity were a dark age, our near conquest by arabs, mongols, and turks – and our rescue by our own ‘northern european pagans’ and our inability to resist them like we could not resist arabs, mongols, and turks; and the consequences of islam and the loss of all the great civilizations of the ancient world – byzantium, persia, phoenicia, egypt, and their decent into ignorance, mysticism, poverty – and worse of all: dysgenia.

    JESUS’ IDEA DEFLATED INTO TRUTH

When I analyze (deflate) christianity into operational terms it is nothing more than *assuming the incentive to cooperate exists, overinvestment in cooperation will develop sufficient rewards and trust that cooperation without investment, and the high returns of cooperation can be produced*. This strategy is *counter to instinct*, so it must be trained into us. It can be trained into us by superstition (lies), storytelling (analogy), description(science), or discipline (training). So if the *wrapper* around christianity consists of lies, especially those leading to fundamentalism (use of religion in argument and politics) and therefore producing denialism and ignorance, and therefore damaging, then why perpetuate the the lies, and not simply teach the science as we have in every other discipline.

    THE RESTORATION OF THE WEST

The restoration of western civilization will not be complete until abrahamism(lying) in all its supernatural forms: jewish, christian, islam, and abrahamism in its modern forms marxism(jewish-pseudoscientific), postmodernism(catholic-pseudorational), and anglo-keynesian (pseudoscientific) and judaism, christianity and Islam (supernatural fundamentalism) have all been extinguished from our lands, our institutions, our laws, our norms, and the people who inhabit them.

THE RESTORATION OF OUR SUCCESS: TRUTH

Because then we will return to our ancient strategy: truth above all else, and truth as the preferred means of climbing the dominance hierarchy.

THE EXISTENTIAL (REAL) TRANSCENDENCE OF MAN

Because truth is power over the falsehoods of man, the vicissitudes of nature, and the brutality of the physical universe.

The elegance of the peterson cult is he can make myth say whatever he wants, and circumvent suspension of disbelief if he spoke scientifically. This is why religino works. And it’s why I don’t like including religious works, and want to limit our analysis to myth and literature. Because the ‘interpreter’ can suggest truth or false good or bad – and that’s what they do: suggest bad.

    by Eli Harman

The two biggest lies of Christianity are monotheism (one God, one truth, one law, one way, one life) and universalism (for EVERYONE.)

This is a recipe for limitless mischief and most of it has actually come to pass.

It’s a justification for centralization of power, authority, and everything else. And while it may have produced gains for a time from economies of scale, it’s long since passed the point where diseconomies come to the fore.

Add to this the conflation of myth and superstition with ACTUAL history and science and you have an enfeebling, stultifying, regressive, backwards, mind-hobbling, faith rather than an ennobling, empowering, enlightening, one.

It’s a retreat into fictionalism, NOT archetypes, metaphors, or analogies that serve as useful heuristics for navigating the real world (although it still has an aspect of that.)

    USA VS EUROPE

I mean, is it that simple: We are Legal and Europe is Literary? Yep.

USA: Commercial Legal Analytic Deflationary vs. EU: Religious Moral Literary Conflationary.

And so Canada and UK are backsliders, AUS less so, and USA not so.

Europe attacked the churches but evolved into them in the french model.

USA continued the practice of deflation and separated public law from private religion, with the problem being that morals were not left to the regions and localities. Thereby leaving open the door for the restoration of religious rule that occured in europe to occur in the federal governent – which, for an ‘old europe of the americas’ to form required analytic government of commerce.

    DIFFERENCES BETWEEN EUROPEANS AND AMERICANS

Ok. Do I have this right, that americans practice the cults of protestantism and constitution, and so our ‘religiosity’ is overstated, while europeans, who practice the cults of secular democratic secular humanism, marxism and christianity are in fact more *superstitious* or *mystical* than americans? Because that is what I think divides the old world and the new world?
