THE IRRELEVANCE OF WHO ELITES SHARE A PHOTO WITH
If you are in a position of influence our power, you will, of necessity, be forced to associate with people who are also of influence or power whether you like them or not.
The correct description of these relationships is a marketplace, with suppliers and customers. And, just as in any business you may do business with people you don’t particularly care for, (or worse), you must, as a person buying and selling the currency of influence or power, participate in exchanges (deals), at times, even with enemies.

    (NLI Nonsense)
If I worked in the academy, (a) it would be impossible because my work is too contentious (revolutionary) (b) they would not tolerate how long it takes to do the reserach required to publish (c) I would have to put up with insufferable and shallow political nonsense (d) and worse tolerate an administrative bureaucracy that is the bane of the university system.
So instead, I work at a think tanke and I get to put up with being teased and corrected by the team ( Martin? Brad? Luke? πŸ˜‰ ) , who functions as a group of irreverant post-grads whose favorite recreation is humor, trash talk and sarcasm. πŸ˜‰
So no, I’m not complaining. Just … sayin’. πŸ˜‰

During the mid to late 2000’s, after the crash, the Sarkozy government sought to bring West Coast tech firms to France. We met in the Atrium Building in Bellevue, where my company had its offices, and where Microsoft regional sales also had their offices. It was and remains one of the premier properties in the region. We had made the Inc 500 list for three years in a row. Which is, I’m sure, what peaked their (his) interest.

ISLAMIC LAW HELD BACK THE MIDDLE EAST – BUT THE FAILURE OF WESTERN LAW MADE US VULNERABLE

—“During the period of interest, an institution of great importance to Middle Eastern daily life was the holy la w of Islam (shari’a), also known as Islamic law.
In principle, Islamic law covered all human activity. As a matter of practice, certain spheres of life were governed by rules divorced from religious considerations. In the politica! discourse of the Ottoman Empire (1299-1922) there was even a category of laws known as “ruler’s la w” (kanun), as distinct from Islamic law, and also a third category, customary law (orf), which rested on precedent rather than religious scripture or learning.
In commerce and finance, two areas in which the Middle East fell conspicuously behind, right up to modern times Islamic law played a key role. People entered into contracts that followed an Islamic template and were enforced through Islamic courts. They apportioned estates according to Islamic inheritance rules. Residents of the region’s great cities obtained services mostly from waqfs, which were trusts formed under Islamic law and supervised by officials with religious training. Almost alllawsuits involving at least one Muslim were litigated by Muslirh judges, under Islamic legal principles.”–

LAW MATTERS MORE – MUSLIM FAILURE DUE TO MUSLIM LAW
–“… [Asking] why the modern economy took shape in northwestern Europe and not the eastern Mediterranean, the typical answer would contrast western flexibility with Muslim rigidity. Through the Reformation, the Renaissance, and the Enlightenment, many would say, western Christendom liberated itself from Church dogma and gave free rein to creativity. For its part, the Islamic world failed to free itself from the fetters of religious custom. Islam opposes innovation, it is often claimed, so Muslim social structures resisted adaptation and advancement.”–

However, it was the religion and the custom that prevented the reformation of hte law – and as I have written extensively, it is the demographics that generate the need for that custom and religoin that in turn generate ignorance and stagnation, that in turn generated the inability to modify the law.

Islam like Judaism claims monopoly and finality that no other religions and cultures do -and this monopoly and finality is the reason both for the diasporic prosecution of the jews, and the civilizational failures of islam.

    Not quite right Dr GC.
    1) Cities exist because of geographic location in relation to trade.
    2) Cities evolve diversity because they were well run, because they developed rule of law among a homogenous people (excellent) and attracted more trade.
    3) The utility of such diversity is limited to single digits of the population.
    4) While with every doubling of population, density provides an increase of 20% of everything, that means both everything both good and bad.
    5) Cities like empires generate demand for authority the produces rent seeking bureaucracies.
    6) The ‘excellent diverse’ cities are genetic sinks (dysgenic).
    7) We have never been in the condition where the majority lived in cities and this appears to produce extraordinarily destructive externalities that we are only now beginning to understand.
    8) We are no longer in the condition where cities are advantageous for skilled labor, because the opportunity cost and transaction cost of communication has approached zero.
    9) While Mr Musk is re-demonstrating the importancde of Ford’s discovery of producing the entire value chain of production, this is not true for most production in an age of easy transport of components between areas of production. Ergo there remain and will remain a vast distsribution of labor and competency and capital for most production. Most famously the current 900+ companies worldwide it takes to produce a comupter chip in the most complex supply chain we are aware of. As such the only utility of density today is reduction of infrastructure costs and providing cheap labor for distribution centers (amazon). Imagine what’s going to happen when all those women we added to clerical work over the past fifty yeares are replaced by automation.
