    The problem we all face is that protestant christianity, unlike catholicism, democratic secular humanism, and socialist postmodernism, produces good human beings. Especially among the working and lower classes, who have only their ACTIONS (service) to use for status signaling (positive reinforcement). Stoicism does not produce devotion to charity by personal action only insulation from manipulation and mindfulness. So the answer is clearly the structure of stoicism, but the choice of archetypes must include the charity of jesus among the virtues (lower and priestly), the duty of achilles among the virtues(lower middle and nobility), and the reciprocity of Aurelius (middle and upper middle – commercial ), and the devotion to the truth of Aristotle(top – Judiciary).

    We may choose at all times to cooperate, disassociate or aggress. The market equilibrium of such agency produces an institutional phenotype which reflects the distribution of agency, and tends to approximate the highest possible degree of voluntary cooperation between peers, because that is most mutually beneficial.–Until it’s not.

    A great discrepancy in agency between agents creates more incentives for the superior part to aggress, to the point of *that* no longer being most profitable (e.g. destruction of the subjugated).

    Natural law maximizes cooperation but only among those who willingly cooperate–the militia.

    It does so as much as it discourages the granting of discounts to outgroups for a reason that in no way is profitable for the ingroup.

    A militia of sovereigns is contingent on some degree of homogeneity of agency which is why its membership is generally limited to a subset of a population.

    And, is why the age of American ‘liberty’ was also one of colonialism, ethnic cleansing and conquest, and slavery and segregation.

    Mental illness as far as I know, is measured:

    1 – The first by the harm to the individual or his peers (harm).

    2 – The second measure is whether cooperation is no longer possible because of an insufficiently shared reality. In which case we are stuck with the problem of decidability – which corresponds more closely to reality (cooperation).

    3 – The third measure is whether individuals suffer psychological pain because their theories and consequent actions produce results in reality that dissatisfy, frustrate, or agonize them.

    Beyond that we have merely ability, ignorance, error, bias, wishful thinking, and deceit.

    Um. I know that if you are sensitive to the gender issue, it’s hard to see my underlying strategy, but I’m saying we all MUST trade. Because if we don’t trade the option is women prey upon men, or men prey upon women. In that choice, men will always prey upon women.
