    Note that chimps are frighteningly better at the same kind of task than humans, and put even aborigines to shame. They can remember incredibly complex patterns in short term memory, from just a glance. Our representational ‘memory’ degrades really fast, with a half life of something on the order of half a second.

    An obvious bit of evidence of east asian’s more neotenous than europeans: they still retain the epicanthal fold (inner eyelid) which humans normally mature out of before birth. The others are body shape, body hair, scent, degree of sexual development. Conversely afro-asiatics (arabs) and africans mature more deeply than europeans. We make jokes about size of genitalia but it’s true. you can measure group neoteny by size. And again, as in all things, stereotypes are the most accurate measure in the social sciences.

    The genes that control for intelligence have vast secondary effects on the facial structure, which is probably why we are so good at estimating intelligence from a glance at faces.

    As socrates said “define your terms”. A term must only be consistent with the use as the speaker defines it. We can use “Domestication” (reproductive selection) or the more unpleasant term “Genetic Pacification” (law, war). The truth is that we use both Domestication and Genetic Pacification. And the unpleasant truth is that

    Different fields use the same terms differently. Colloquial speaking people conflate them because they lack the specialized knowledge of those fields. A common series I deal with daily is {reason, rationalism, and logic}.

    So, in science, domestication of plants, animals, and man, refers to the same process: making useful (cooperative) with man, by breeding favorable traits and unfavorable traits. At present our understanding is driven by Soviet Scientist Dmitry Belyaev, and his demonstration that foxes could be domesticated in under ten generations.

    When we study this process what do we find? We find that we are breeding for the extension of youth, where plants grow, and animals grow, but neither achieves early or FULL maturity. In animals this reduces the impulse to fight, so that the brain can continue to develop.

    What does it develop instead of impulse? It maintains the socialization of youth, and gains agency over the self (consciousness, patience, and conscientiousness).

    So we are using the term as it is used in science. Humans domesticated themselves, plants, and animals – and some of us domesticated other peoples (and frankly are still trying but failing to do so).

    Technically I would say yes. But you just gave me an idea, which is to chart the development of psychology by pseudoscientific(jewish), literary/continental(german-jung), and scientific (anglo-james et all) That might be a fun thing to draw up.

    So to understand James, think about his time frame. We had theological idealism, then philosophical idealism, then Darwin, and then we had empiricism and pragmatism. So he was part of the transition from Freud(pseudoscience), to Jung (continental literature), and to James (anglo empiricism) and Pareto

    As in all things.

    The only reason I didn’t sue the Clinton Foundation for the $2M they stole from my company, was because Microsoft wouldn’t let me. Why? They asked us to rescue a project for the Clinton Foundation from an Indian (major) software company, and they didn’t want the bad press of being associated with a suit against the Clintons. The Clintons never intended to pay. You want to know the name of the project? Project Two Degrees. The purpose of the project? the measurement of ‘global warming” for the purpose of regulation. I lost 2M on the Clinton Foundation, then spent another quarter million financing it for the organization that started the global warming movement. So I know the data and processes, I know the incentives, I know these people, I understand how the money moves through the network, and I know the political parties involved, and who the key players are. Do you want to know how the Clinton foundation operates? They bait companies into assistance with offers to pay, then guilt them into paying the entire bill, or getting the bad press. In other words, they use the Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton technique of fundraising. They are ‘true believers’. And there is nothing more evil in this world than a true believer in anything that they can’t themselves WARRANTY.

    Cheerleading cheer for their team as a form of encouragement. It can be performed to motivate sports teams, to entertain the audience, or for competition. It can range from chanting slogans to intense physical activity.

    You understand of course the purpose is community building and participation in a heroic ritual.

    There is a reason the enemy undermined it.
