  • Information Systems for the Persistence of Man

    SYSTEMS G-GENES, 0-PROPERTY, 1-INTUITION, 2-REASON, 3-COOPERATION(REPRODUCTIVE DIVISION OF PERCEPTION, COGNITION, KNOWLEDGE, LABOR)

    (profound) (worth repeating)

    [O]ur logical capacity extends to the limits defined by the flight of an arrow. For more complex multi-dimensional relations we resort to the cartesian representations. And if the problem is more complicated than that, then our reason, and ability to envision causal relations, is terribly frail.

    And if I am correct (and it appears at present that I am), then “System 0″ is little more than a producer of reward and punishment endorphins in response to increases or decreases in an individual’s inventory of “property”. Property that is necessary for his life, cooperation and reproduction.

    Emotions are reactions to changes in state. Changes in state are determined by changes in property. Humans act to acquire that which improves their condition. Humans resent and punish, at great personal expense, appropriations of that which they have acted to acquire.

    Reason (Stanovich’s System “2”) rides on the elephant of intuition (Stanovich’s System “1”), whose objects of consideration ( Doolittle’s System “0”) are what we call ‘property’. Our brains are difference engines. And we calculate differences in property: that which we have acted to obtain.

    The Meaning of “Incremental Suppression”

    (organic common law as a means of incrementally suppressing free riding).

    [T]he logic of the Incremental Suppression of Free Riding via the evolution of the Common Law.

    1) Humans acquire at cost and defend what they have acquired at cost.

    2) Cooperation is disproportionately more productive than predation.

    3) Cooperation is only preferable to predation in the total absence of parasitism. Or, what we call free-riding.

    4) Because of the disproportionate value of cooperation, Humans retaliate against free riding even if at high cost ( altruistic punishment) – they protect the institution by severe policing of cheaters.

    5) Rules against free riding, either normative or codified in law, prohibit parasitism (free riding).

    6) Prohibitions that are habituated in norms or codified in law provide a means of decision making in matters of conflict.

    7) Prohibitions against parasitism can be positively expressed as contractual “rights”.

    8) Community member (shareholders in the local market) insure one another by suppressing retaliation against settlements of grievances according to norms and laws.

    9) The common, organic law allows for the least time lapse between an innovation in the means of parasitism and the construction of a prohibition against this new means of parasitism expressed as new law. As such all laws are discovered. (very important)

    10) High trust societies use common law to incrementally suppress all available means of free riding, leaving productive participation in the market as the only viable means of survival.

    11) As a consequence, the reproduction of the lower classes is suppressed and the distribution of talents increases along with the innovations in technology. (market eugenics). Thus obviating the need for tyranny and redistribution.

    [A]ristocracy, Egalitarianism, Morality, Nomocracy, Meritocracy, Science, and Eugenic Evolution are mutually dependent.

    The diagram shows the incremental suppression of parasitism starting from the suppression of violence through fraud, through conspiracy, through immigration, through conquest.

    Only the west succeeded in developing the norm of truth. And without truth telling we cannot have the jury. And without the jury no judge or common law.

    Truth matters above all else. Pseudoscience is just Babylonian monotheistic mysticism in new clothes. And this new emperor is naked also.

    Truth is enough to rescue the west.  Truth is enough.

  • So here is the process I use to research (attack) opposing positions. THE SUSTAI

    So here is the process I use to research (attack) opposing positions.

    THE SUSTAINED ATTACK

    Your opponent will never agree with you. Your objective is to educated him through repetition, and to eliminate his means of obtaining confirmation, signals, and status from his conceptual peers.

    Construct a criticism, and a solution. (libertarianism or Russian involvement in Ukraine)

    Look for comment streams with elaborate but rhetorically weak arguments. (rothbarianism or russian moral equivalency).

    Watch for a few weeks so that you understand the general arguments that they make. (haunt blogs and fb pages)

    Create an aggressive, full frontal attack, in order to draw attention and fire. use loaded language, framed language, every thing possible to inflame the audience.

    Use their attacks on you as opportunities to repeat the central argument.

    Never show anger. Treat them as ‘cute’. Stick to the facts. Repeat the central argument.

    They will try to rally. Try to shame. Try to ridicule. Try ad hominems. Try straw men. And every other fallacy.

    Answer every single person who responds by showing their fallacy, then close by repeating the central argument. The purpose of responding is to repeat the central argument and show that they are dishonest in debate.

    At this point, after two to five days, you have already succeeded in controlling the discourse, and eliminating the sense of comfort, familiarity and safety that they have on the forum, but now, you want to defeat your enemy completely.

    So keep up the attack, and make fresh ones, until they bring in their ‘best’, who will undoubtedly have confidence that he can defeat you. This individual will seek status by showing his dominance. If you defeat this individual you defeat the ‘team’.

    At this point, the others will largely drop out except for cheers from the peanut gallery. You now have control of the discourse.

    Now that you have someone who can actually conduct a debate rather than rally, shame, ridicule, and throw fallacies, agree with his true and empirically stated points, and repeat the central argument.

    Keep this up until you exhaust him.

    At this point you have killed the venue as a means of self-reinforcing justification, and yo have probably repeated your central argument a hundred times. And it is now part of their conceptual vernacular.

    They will eventually try to ban you. At which point if you have conducted yourself with humor, rather than personal attacks, you can argue that they can’t defend their ideas, repeat the central position.

    YOU JUST HAVE TO WORK AT IT PATIENTLY.

    It’s a yeoman’s labor. But it works. You can accomplish by repetition what you can not accomplish by persuasion.
