    Interesting. Reading top philosopher’s lists.

    Advocates of philosophy conflate the impactful, the useful and the true. In retrospect we can see those who were meaningful (Aristotle, Bacon, Descartes, Hume, Locke, Jefferson.)

    As far as I can tell, in retrospect, the problem all philosophers faced was that they were powerless observers, largely writing literature.

    They feared, sought to entice, or sought to leverage, from either the church, the state, or their peers.

    All the while, rulers ruled, merchants traded, and priests taught. These men only wrote. A few of them matter for the good. Most of them create as much or more harm than good.

    1) The only physical science is what we call physics (engineering).

    2) The only social science is what we call law(cooperation).

    3) The only philosophy testimony(truth).

    4) The only experiential science is aesthetics(experience).

    Because these three things require action: existence.

    1) Action vs reaction in the physical universe. (engineering)

    2) Action vs reaction in the cooperative population (ethics/economics, sociology/politics)

    3) Action vs reaction in personal testimony. (truth/psychology)

    4) Acton vs reaction in experience (aesthetics)

    **[Aesthetics], Engineering, Law(cooperation), Testimony**

    All disciplines fall within these three fields.

    This is the New Trivium.

    Testimony (the logics / ourselves)

    Law (cooperation / others)

    Engineering (the hard sciences / the universe)

    [Aesthetics (the science of experiences)]

    The rest is fantasy literature, religion, propaganda, and lies.

    Seriously.

    That’s all there is.

    Nothing more. The rest is nonsense dreams are made of.

    Philosophy is finished.

    Only Science remains.

    Nassim Nicholas Taleb is working on Finance, Policy and Risk. I am working on Law. But fundamentally we are working on the same problem.

    And to some degree I have an easier problem to solve. I only have to demonstrate the need for warranty of due diligence (truthfulness) and of ‘demonstrated warranty’ (skin in the game).

    Taleb is trying to do something harder: to price risk – to determine the reserve amount of the warranty.

    I know his problem needs solving. I just don’t know if it can be improved beyond his basic statement that small increases in prediction require vast increases in information.

    Which is a problem. Why? Because the moment you can get enough information to do that, it means the value of the opportunity has declined, because others may have that information also.

    The mind’s intuition is risky but then, it’s also not externally knowable.

    I do not know if we can improve our ‘rule of law’ in matters of price except by indirection: if the individual loses, how does he gain? This is a kind of falsification warranty. (Which may be difficult to understand.)

    I don’t do racism. I do classism. I do nationalism. I do testimonial truth. But as far as I know, there is nothing preventing any of the tribes or races from transcendence other than the suppression of the reproduction of their lower classes until the mean is above what we consider 106.

    It may be, and likely is true, that europeans possess greater numbers with higher openness to experience and the helpful mix of existential (spatial) and verbal abilities.

    But that does not prevent others from transcendence. It may require we domesticate the undomesticated people out of self defense. But that does not mean that they cannot be domesticated and helped to transcend the animal.

    I love my people first. But I love mankind as well. As long as the transcendence of others is not a cost we must bear, it is an opportunity we can seize.

    I’ve Been building software since the 70’s.

    In the late 80’s I use Agile before it had a name.

    This “Lug Nut” development is how I do software development today.

    “Just make it work. Refactor as soon as you figure out how.”

    Make no unnecessary investments.

    WHY HAVE WE ADOPTED THIS NEW METHODOLOGY?

    The cost of development, the cost of complile time, the cost of publishing updates once problems are found, have eliminated the value of attempting to imitate engineering, and we have migrated to the process of publishing documents that constantly are subject to editorial revision.

    I have said for decades that what we do is discourse to develop hypotheses and theories with our machines — that we do not practice engineering.

    It was the cost of construction of our discourse that made us imitate engineering and construction methods. In the present, we no longer engineer, we function far more like a debating society trying to discover a solution, and constantly updating our text.

    THE CUSTOMER PROBLEM

    But while this method is particularly useful for product and internal development, the customer is your enemy and his own enemy if you do not manage his fantasies.

    So this technique only possible (as is common) with experienced customers.

    We must undestand that develoment has never beeen a problem.

    The customers have always been the problem.

    They want to obtain retail purchases, and control a production process, for what is essentially a program of research and development.

    THE AUTHORING (DEVELOPER) PROBLEM

    And meanwhile, the lazy, unintelligent, and unskilled developers that seduce ignorant customers into employing them far above their skill levels export this behavior to the world. And customers desperate to compete by saving money on research and development are taken advantage of by the vast hordes of frauds in this business hoping to find suckers to finance their personal development and then move on, leaving the customer with failure and disappointment.

    ONE THING WE FAIL TO DO

    Technologists have not professionalized the industry in order to protect customers from unqualified craftsmen and thereby raise their rates and eliminate this problem of expectations. There is no test like the Bar, or public accountancy.

    What we do have is reputations. And we should be vicious in our recommendations of those who harm our industry with their behavior.

    Old fashioned military service teaches you that your silly little freaking job that seems mundane actually matters. Because when men are cold, or hot, tired or hungry, frightened or stressed, all those little things turn out to have been important in keeping everyone alive.

    The commons is like this. All the stupid little stuff matters. Picking up litter. Not walking on the grass. Crossing in zones. Good manners. Punishing vandals, miscreants, and the impulsive – all this stuff matters.

    I don’t think it’s so obvious, but it is to those of us with deep knowledge of economics, that banks are rapidly becoming an unnecessary institution.

    Why? because the next step in financialization is to bypass the banks with liquidity distributed directly from the Treasury, and the near elimination of consumer interest.

    It actually makes no sense at all to charge interest on consumption. The reason we need interest in business is for the purposes of economic calculation (determining inter-temporal profit and loss).

    There are three services that need to be performed: payment capacity, escrow on warranties, and collection – all of which can be performed by publishing actuarial limits the way we publish interest rates today.

    Furthermore there is no longer a need for a single currency in a digital era, and we can issue currencies that are exchangeable only for different purposes

    The roadblock to such reform is the government, financial sector, and institutional sector, all of whom prey upon citizenry through financialization.

    And the citizenry is suspicious of such solutions primarily because until the government cannot enact legislation(pseudo-law) to further interfere with the economy, it remains in the interest of citizens to use banks and hard money as means of controlling the ability of the state to engage in parasitism.

    Therefore the independence of the treasury must be a constitutional guarantee and attempts to thwart it punished with the same severity as treason or war crime.

    That it’s natural. That all human groups act in the interests of their kin. That people vote racially. They work in racial groups. They live in racial groups. They mate and marry in racial groups. They speak in racial groups.

    All racial groups convey status because some groups are more desirable than others. That all those capable of escaping the lower classes of their racial groups rationally want to join in white culture so that they can have a better life, and that as such they want to limit racial discrimination. And that white middle and lower classes want to preserve their privileges by preserving the status of their elites from competition.

    That race, religion, culture, tribe, gender are a part of life because they are meaningful differences because people act to their advantage at all times, and race, religion, culture, tribe and gender convey different advantages.

    It is in the market for good and services that we are all equal. We all benefit from our participation in the market.

    In the commons we are not equal in our needs. Each group needs different commons to assist them in their evolution.

    In all walks of life we are not equal in our value to one another. It is our elites for whom groups are not an advantage.

    That the problem we call racism arises from monopoly democracy which forces equal terms upon all people instead of the terms that each needs to achieve its best advantage. It is the government and democracy that create evil out of race, creed, and class.

    NO MORE LIES.

    The century of pseudoscience and lying is over.

    Kant, Boaz, Freud, Marx, Cantor, Mises, Frankfurt School, Rothbard, and the Postmoderns are just liars and pseudoscientists creating mythology of secular christianity that is the literary equivalent of science fiction and fantasy that provide the myth of pagan aristocracy.

    It’s not complicated. Silly people in the ancient world believed in holy books. Silly people in the modern world believe in pseudoscientific books. But they’re both nonsense. Both lies.

    The difference is that pagans and aristocracy know that science fiction and fantasy are just literature. The secular christians thought that mysticism was real. They think pseudoscience is real. They love propaganda. They love political correctness. They police speech that exposes their lies.

    The fact that women are and the underclasses are vectors for mysticism and pseudoscience, and men and the middle classes are vectors for commerce, technology, and warfare shouldn’t be surprising.

    Women and slaves spread the lies of mysticism in the ancient world. Women and the ‘slaves’ or underclasses spread the lies of pseudoscience in the modern world.

    There is nothing even the least bit difficult to understand.

    Wishful thinking is fertile ground for lies.

    Lies are lies no matter how well you wrap them in story.

    Your ‘movement’ fantasies that you could expand the Anglo enlightenment ideology of an aristocracy of everyone to the rest of the world as if a new Christian religion, or the Jewish enlightenment ideology of a universal market of satisfied consumers seduced by hyper consumption – have failed.

    The world does not want meritocracy because it cannot compete, and if parasitism is available it is permanently preferable to merit. Each wants its own evolutionary strategy to persist as much as we want ours to persist. Each want’s ascent as we did, not parity. Each seeks defeat not equality.

    Every fantasy of each enlightenment has proven a failure: the Anglo, the French, the German, the Jewish, the Russian, the Hindu and the Chinese. Every fantasy of each that still has yet to come will do the same.

    Why? Because demographics and norms limit the institutions and norms of any polity. Upon truthful introspection, both the Anglo imperial aristocracy of everyone and the Jewish merchant and finance free-rider strategies were attempts to preserve group evolutionary strategies using group advantages of the prior era and to promote them as universal strategies.

    But they were both dependent upon one advantage: the northern european “Hanseatic civilization’s” scientific, technological, military, cultural, mathematical, financial advantages – combined with their most precious advantage: the culling of the underclasses and the reduction of losses from their behavior.

    The Chinese, Japanese, and Northern Europeans were successful in the use of eugenic policy to eliminate the costly impulsives from their populations. Your experiment in self aggrandizement has reversed every one of our advantages, and done millennia of harm to our people in the process.

    So you are evicted. We will compose the history of your era as a great pseudoscience for the purpose of self aggrandizement. A folly upon which the wealth of the west was expended.

    And we will damn you as Nero’s for all eternity.

    If you are lucky you will die in your beds rather than at the end of a noose, beheaded by a guillotine, impaled upon a pole, or burned.

    But we will have no mercy upon your legacy.

    Some of us understand that the holy grail of government is a scientific government: that being rule of law. The problem with constructing rule of law by means of discovering conflicts, is that we have always sought the first principles of that law. And they are … inconvenient for leadership and parasites.

    It is not so much that we need meritocracy, but that we need to remove all parasitism. It is not so much that we need individualism, but that we need to remove all collective parasitism. It is not that we need kings to rule, it is that we need kings to veto those agreements that conduct parasitism against future generations. It is not so much that we need rule, as that we need decidability in matters of conflict. It is not so much that we need government, as that we need a method of constructing competitive commons. It is not so much that we should be universally gregarious, as it is that we should attempt to fund every opportunity for reducing in-group transaction costs.

    I can continue. But most of political history can be reduced to justificationism in an effort to construct an artwork out of adding clay from the earth of cooperation, and most of scientific history can be reduced to criticism in an effort to construct an artwork by removing unwanted stone with the chisel of violence. We must do both: construct our art of cooperation while removing the unwanted parasitism.

    This is science in government. And the discipline of science in government is natural, common, organic, distributed, universally applicability under universal standing ,

    Economic science then is NOT the theory of the social sciences, but the science of the production of commons, and all of that theory must take place within, and be bound by, this science of natural law.
