Damn. Looks like there will be collateral damage to Popper.
Dialectic an unaccountability for one’s words, as well as for one’s hypotheses.
Reimagining platonism to do it.
Our heroes fail us.

It was sitting in front of us all the time. Just laying there. Obvious. We could have picked it up and run with it at any time.
“The People Who Speak The Truth”
The only people who do, for that matter.
Sigh.

DIALECTICAL FALLACIES : TALKING OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF YOUR MOUTH
—“It’s possible that I shall make an ass of myself. But in that case one can always get out of it with a little dialectic. I have, of course, so worded my proposition as to be right either way.— Karl Marx, in a letter to Engels, 1857

Editing my glossary. Today it’s letter “C”. Class, Culture, Calculation etc. Came across Coercion (which is a common word in my world), and got to work on the Power spectrum: POWER / COERCION / PERSUASION / INFLUENCE / INCENTIVE. Fascinating topic when you combine it with social classes in which each form of coercion produces elites that serve the different social classes. 🙂

(worth repeating)
—“We have limited cognitive and perceptive abilities, and require this multitude of tools to testify that we in fact are conveying OBSERVATIONS rather than IMAGINATIONS. “—
The purpose of that method we call ‘the scientific method’ is ethical: to ensure that we are testifying to observation rather than imagination.

THE BEAUTY OF TRUTH: TRUST AND ALL THAT COMES FROM IT
Truth is such a beautiful thing. Not in the holier than thou, messianic, and judgemental sense. But in the wonder that results from our ability to rely upon it and trust our fellows. Only truth-tellers will invent science, medicine and freedom.

“Knowledge” like “red” is the name of an experience, not an action, or an object. Recorded knowledge, or more accurately instructions for the recreation of knowledge, is different from the experience of knowledge.
So while it is verbally convenient to refer to mebers of a category with the same term, one cannot then treat all members of a category as identical.
Logic without operational defunitions is an endlessly meaningless word game.
Parlor game.
Nonsense.
That said, yes it is possible to record operations necesssry to reconstruct the experience we refer to as knowledge.

Ayelam, you know, you put that damned idea in my head the other night about reforming the Hegelian paradigm and you know, you’re right, and I never would have thought about it in that context. But the more I think about it, the more I understand what you meant. Thanks for that, and thanks for everything else too.
