Well, given i) faith, ii) belief, iii) theory, iv) guess. What is the difference between those terms?

Supernatural faith, philosophical belief, and scientific theory, ordinary language ‘guess’.

    What’s the difference?

THE IDOL OF JESUS VS THE LOVE OF OUR PEOPLE

I would say that there are many heroes of history to imitate, and that given that christianity was designed as a war against western civilization – one that we have thankfully twisted to our own use over the centuries – there are rules we can take from christianity and those ideas that we can and should leave behind. I would suggest we love our people. That the church philosophers did a fairly good job of producing Christian Love in us. And it is christian love that is what makes us christians. And that supernatural crutches are very bad for us. There are far too many christians who escape the real burden of christian love through the IDOL of jesus. And therefore are not christians, but charlatans claiming virtues that they do not possess.

    SIGNALS AND RELIGION

    by Luke Weinhagen

Signals are like a drug. You get the dopamine hit from doing the signalling without having to expose yourself to the costs of doing the being.

Signals are passive. Being is active. Your actions are always the expression of your truth .Where your passive state does not match your active state, your passive state is a lie. It is the exposure of this lie that people are responding to.

It is the trappings of these belief systems that are, and should be, under attack first. The trapping are the passive decorations of belief, not the costly actions of belief. One can wear them and signal their belonging and righteousness. These are merely the demands the religion makes of its believers. Stripping this away is the first attack. There is no action here so there is no agency here. The response is all upset

Once the trapping are stripped away you can know what the religion actually demands of its adherents. You learn what actions one must take as a practitioner, not just one that signals belief, but puts that belief into action. Where the attack on religion meets the practitioner is where agency begins to be available. It is at this point where practitioner of and critics of can meet with cooperation, boycott or violence. Where we have the opportunity to strip away those actions that impose an external cost and use the good that remains to help guide men to transcendence.

Cooperation to remove the errors and lies and retain that which allows transcendence.

Boycott to deny the external costs of errors and lies and allow the practitioners able to do so to keep their faith with full internal accounting. (Bill’s “Ending Brother Wars”)

Violence to end the external costs of error and lies for practitioners unable to practice full accountability.

(my guess is that when we get to a point where natural law is implemented, we will see cooperation, boycott and violence line up with Christianity, Judaism and Islam)

In the exploration of religious belief, dogma and ideology I think Curt’s recent “No More Lies” post is one of his most important (even if you believe he got every single detail wrong) as it shows the effect of stripping away the trappings –

    CREATING THE HIGH-DISGUST PERSONALITY BIAS

    (pls discuss)

    by Anne Summers

I would argue 2 things… Abrahamic religions are attractive to, and create high disgust personalities. It’s the high disgust, low tolerance mind set that will “win the day”.

    (“The Most Intolerant Always Wins”)

Abrahamic religions aren’t the problem, from looking at it from your point of view, it’s the high tolerance nature of the European.

  • “Ever worry that the drive to establish the “Law” makes you into the abrahamic d

—“Ever worry that the drive to establish the “Law” makes you into the abrahamic deity you claim to despise?”—Noel Fritsch

    Well, you know,

    (a) Odin was, it appears, a real person, as was aristotle. Over the centuries, we seem to have made odin into a ‘god’ in the traditional (ancestor spirit) sense, if not the abrahamic (abstract deity) sense. We have made aristotle into a hero bordering on a demigod in the traditional if not abrahamic sense. All civilizations have law-givers. The question between them is only the GRAMMAR of the law, the contents of that law, and the consequence of that law.

As far as I know, I set out to write, and have written, the Law of European Peoples: The Natural Law, as a continuous, consistent, coherent extension of the Laws of Nature. In some sense, I suppose this would make me a law-giver if by some chance I am successful in influencing in the present or future such law as a reformation of the Anglo Common Law, Anglo Saxon Law, Germanic Law, Proto-germanic Law, and West Aryan Law. But that law is via negativa: like evolution – fully adaptive. Not a reflection of time and circumstance, but as eternal as the natural sciences and logics.

We have incrementally prohibited parasitism and predation and now in the present, we are capable, with the knowledge we have today, of incrementally prohibiting those predations, parasitisms and harms caused by falsehood, deceits, and lies. What one does positively with the truth is a market question not a truth question.

So I don’t worry about being cast as a *Proxy Ancestor for Liars*. And If I was lucky enough to be remembered as a *Law Giver*, then I can think of no greater honor that history could grant. Although I kind of doubt such a thing will or can happen, and it wouldn’t be an ambition.

    (b) I despise abrahamism: false promise, straw manning, undue praise, pilpul, critique and the Three Great Fictionalisms to enforce conformity by submission. In other words, the Great Lies. I do not see how ending the abrahamic dark age of lies is the same as creating a new dark age of lies.

    (c) deities don’t exist as other than literary and mythological characters in our narratives. It’s not that they aren’t useful to some degree. But they are clearly more useful as law givers, generals, scientists, engineers, poets and artists than deities in an era where those of us with any literacy are aware that these deities are but fictional characters for simple illiterate ignorant minds.

(FWIW: I have a god by the way. I don’t know his name. But I talk to him every day. Often. He is, as I undrestand it, the god of my people, or a ‘face of’, or instance of, that god that I can comprehend. But my understanding of his existence is purely scientific: as information. That does not limit his utility, any more than imagining whether my grandmother would approve of my behavior at the dinner table. )

    (d) Taking the place of the gods? The same was said about every one of the scientists and sciences and look how positive was that outcome. We are now the gods we sought to please. As were the gods of yesteryear the kings they sought to please.

    (e) The entire world converges (thanks to anglos largely) on the universal language of truth telling (science) which evolved (thanks to anglos largely) out of anglo law of tort, and the empirical tests and testimony under that law. So I see my work as completing the european project of converting all disciplines as subdisciplines of truthful testimony under the law.

I mean, you have to find a way for justifying falsehoods, deceits, and lies, that does not at the same time say that those who require them are insufficiently human, because they are insufficiently possessed of agency, to as a consequence possess sovereignty, in display word and deed.

I am perfectly ok with a multi class society where we reverse democratic and christian universalism, and return to the traditional hierarchy of Aristocracy, Nobility, Citizenry, Freemen, Serfs, Slaves, Domesticated animals, and undomesticated animals with demonstrated agency providing the privileges of rank – because this appears to be the truth. However I am equally ok with high investment education in fitness, intuition, reason, knowledge, and occupation (skill), such that these ranks are fluid under rule of law and markets. Both of these are forms of ‘truth’ expression.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CHRISTIAN EUROPEAN IDENTITY

All that is required to claim one is a Christian is to have adopted the teachings of Christianity:

    THE UNIVERSAL IDENTITY: THE VIA-NEGATIVA

    1. Do not covet (envy)

    2. Do not lie, cheat, gossip, or conspire.

    3. Do not rape, adulter, or prostitute.

    4. Do not murder, steal, or harm.

    THE CHRISTIAN IDENTITY: THE VIA-POSITIVA

    1. The eradication of hatred from the human heart.

    2. The extension of kinship love to non-kin.

    3. The extension of exhaustive forgiveness before punishment, enserfment, enslavement, death, or war.

    4. The commitment to personal acts of charity for those who are in need.

    THE ARYAN EUROPEAN IDENTITY

    1. Demand and Do: Sovereignty and Reciprocity,

    2. Demand and Do: Truth and Duty

    3. Demand and Do: The Law and Markets

    4. Demand and Do: Insure the Good, Punish the Wicked.

    THE HEATHEN EUROPEAN IDENTITY

    1. The laws of nature are binding on all of existence; and;

    2. Nature is sacred and to be contemplated, protected and improved; and;

    3. To leave the universe changed for the better – a Garden – for having lived in it.

    4. To die a good death in the service of my people.

THE TRANSCENDENCE OF MAN INTO GODS.

Through the continuous competition between trial and error, as we calculate perfection one thought, word, and deed at a time.

That this is the optimum ingroup evolutionary strategy is simply a matter of logic and evidence.
