    So basically, there is an excuse to party for a month.

    Now the entrepreneur in me is horrified by the need to increase profitability and productivity for the year by 1/12th (8.5%), or to accept the 8.5% decrease in everything and all externalities to the business and the economy.

    But the human being in me kind of appreciates the agrarian cycle.

    You are always at the mercy of your neighbors. But every time population increases and with it anonymity, we develop a new means of constructing reputations in oder to ensure conformity.

    This assumes the enlightenment theory that Jefferson was acting upon was correct.

    But all enlightenment political theories were wrong. Including Jefferson’s American reinterpretation of Anglo Saxon.

    The west surpassed the rest with aggressive suppression of competing thought, and aggressive eugenics. Leaving only truth and merit.

    Without which preservation of limited government, civic society, jury, truthful testimony, economic velocity, and the vast self organising division of labor is impossible.

    Blacks, women, Catholics, Jews, Hispanics, now Muslims have increasingly worked to undermine our meritocracy and devolve our civilisation to the same low standards of the others.

    Reason is useful for explaining observations. Reason is useless for hypothesising in complexity.

    The evidence is in.

    The enlightenment project has been a catastrophic failure and meritocratic, hierarchical, paternalism, with aggressive eugenic culling, and aggressive suppression of competitors forces all into the market for commons, goods, and services,

    The only reason to do anything else is to engage in parasitism.
