It’s a matter of whether 1) bitcoin will be replaced, or 2) the government takes it over or hyper regulates it, 3) or regulates it into a crash. I can promise you that it will be regulated. I can almost promise you that the govt will resort to some sort of BTC like currency at some point in the future because it’s simply too cheap and information-producing compared to paper and credit fiat money. And so for the near term I would consider it a short term speculative investment opportunity if bought on the dips AND if you are keeping track of competitors that solve the technological problems – including proof of work, zeroing at a certain market value/accumulating fragment-values, and archiving (cataloging) chains.

    PSYCHOLOGY

    1) perceptions, biases and limits, 2) categories provided by evolution, their biases and limits, 2) incentives (values) attached to those categories, their biases and limits.

    As far as I know all psychology can be expressed as was suggested by the stoics, as furtherance of acquisition. This yields objective and descriptive psychology(market for cooperation) – and falsifies Freud’s subjective and normative psychology (authoritarianism).

    As far as I know (presently), all behavior is constructed from the same five biological reward systems. Those same five reward systems correspond to phases of the prey drive. The mating drive in the sexes influences later stages of the prey drive. Personality differences are attributable to variations in the reward systems that reflect each stage of the prey drive.

    As far as I know each evolutionary layer of the brain (stem(autonomic systems and movement), reptilian(predatory/reproductive), mammalian(social and moral), human(cooperative,linguistic) ) contributes to and makes use of increasingly (hierarchical) shared memory, and that on average we can detect very small changes in very short time spans but we sample every half second or so, and produce consciousness out of the two to three seconds of persistence of memory. And because of this division of effort across various systems, we are able to detect changes in state in sensation, perception, short memory, long memory, and predictive memory (modeling): providing us with enormous ability to detect differences and therefore patterns across time.

    Unfortunately, while we seem to possess a conscious mind (Rider), we have little introspection into our intuitions (elephant) provided by our mammalian brains, less into our reptilian, and none at all into our autonomic. And Until recently were entirely unaware that all of these are formed by various genes that produce our particular abilities and biases.

    SCIENCE

    As far as I know the discipline of science is reducible to the use of physical and logical instrumentation to improve on our perceptions, so that we may reduce the imperceptible, to that which is perceptible at least to some degree to our senses, and comparable, at least to some degree, by our reason. Ergo, science assists us in removing ignorance and error, bias and wishful thinking, suggestion and obscurantism, fictionalism and deceit.

    PHILOSOPHY

    As far as I know, the purpose of philosophy is to increase correspondence with reality such that we have greater power over it (greater ability to make use of it). Ergo philosophy consists of a hierarchy of disciplines that assist us in determining Decidability (truth), Consent (goodness), or Choice (Preference) in any domain of inquiry.

    MYSTICISM

    As as I know, the purpose of mysticism is to define categories, relations and values that allow us to emotionally circumvent our inability to alter ourselves or reality.

    THEOLOGY

    As far as I know the purpose of theology is to institutionalize in every possible form, one set of mysticisms or another for the purpose of producing psychological relief on industrial scales.

    Many People are weak. Weak physically. Weak emotionally. Weak intellectually, or Weak Circumstantially. The problem we always face is in providing solace to the weak without letting them produce harm to the strong. Unfortunately, every great advance increases the potential of the less able being left behind. And so with every great leap forward, there has been a counter-enlightenmnet by those weak of body, emoition, mind and circumstance.

    Marxism, Postmodernism, Feminism are must the most recent of the three attacks on civilization. Abrahamism(rabbinical judaism) being the second (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), and organized religion being the first.

    Well, you know, I would say that the characteristic feature of western man is (a) the demand for deflationary truth-telling, and (b) to compensate for mankind’s flaws, biases, contradictions, and irrationality by demand for productive, fully informed, warrantied, voluntary exchange, free of negative externality – and (c) demand for the continuous evolution of the natural, common, law of reciprocity we call ‘tort’ to enforce those demands.

    It is high trust truthful society that is western man’s advantage, and that advantage was achieved through demographic suppression via means of that same natural, common law of reciprocity. Because the west was rarely first, but was always fastest. And that is because there is no faster method of maneuver, adaptation, and decidability, that is provided by markets in association, reproduction, cooperation, commons, and polities, where conflicts are decided by the common law of torts using the natural law of reciprocity, a market for juridical defense. Because the moment an innovative violation of reciprocity is identified it can be encoded into the law, and innovations against that violation of reciprocity immediately correcting all markets.

    So no. The characteristic of *loser civilizations* is to produce those who exploit man’s flaws biases, contradictions and irrationality. The characteristic of western civilization is to inhibit, prosecute, and kill them – thereby leaving only the satisfaction of man’s wants when those wants are free of external imposition of costs upon others.

    Productive, Truthful, Fully Informed, Warrantied, Voluntary Transfer Limited to Productive externalities.

    Masculinity is a reproductive strategy that concentrates resources but demanding low error and high meritocracy, just as femininity is a reproductive strategy that distributes them tolerating high error and zero meritocracy. ie: eugenia vs dysgenia. And this is what the evidence in every single civilization unquestionably shows us.

    The secret to western civilization is that until the 20th century it was impossible to implement a dysgenic political order like the rest of the world other than china and japan.

    I love you all, and I know we all seek power by means we understand. But you know, cryptocurrencies are bullshit. All you are doing is issuing growth stocks on speculation, and the government can easily suppress it. Now, to say that there are a lot of suckers who will chase a bullshit growth stock is nothing but saying that there are suckers for every possible pyramid scheme.

    All you are doing is self financing the next fiat currency system (which is fine) – the world needs a method of circumventing the financial system.

    Now, all fiat currency is stock in the state. And all fiat currency depends upon growth of some sort (or at least, relative stability) – in the sense that it is more stable than other market assets because its demand-price can be regulated by the state.

    But you gotta understand. There is no future for private currencies. Just the opposite. The future will largely consist of even more fiat money exchange, with commodity money, like today, a more volatile insurance against rapid depreciation of the fiat currency.

    If for some reason the blockchain (ledger) system succeeds, and all the techincal problems are solved (very questionable), the state will merely regulate it such that it is first an extension of the fiat currency, and then a partial replacement for it, and then a full replacement for it.

    So, in effect, the crypto-currency research and development is assisting the state in developing the technology with which to deprive us of hard currency and our ability to conduct exchanges invisibly and outside of the government interference.
