    @leecronin

    The amount of work we’ve put into de-glossing the AI’s so that we get truthful answers out of them is absurd.

    AI companies sought to produce assistants for the general public and have effectively produced them for programmers.

    They did not design them for testimony.
    (That’s what we did.)

    Prof: Thanks for your efforts in public awareness of science.

    Another thought:
    So you k now how cursing is a sign of honesty?
    I think I adopted this sort of humor subconsciously as a sign of honesty. Just as male bonding by hyperbole and false insult is a sign of honesty.
    I know that in business I was warned that CEO’s of large companies like mine should not express certain opinions. However, what I found with clients was the opposite. “This guy will always lay out the truth, even if I don’t want to hear it.” It’s also why it works when tell a client we’re not a fit or I fire a client. In both cases they want to work with us more. Why? Honesty. Honesty sells in high risk industries.
    Truth is being honest and moral if you’re capable and conscientious is a competitive advantage.
    But then you’d only have to read “The Millionaire Mind’ to grasp that.

    I do this for a living. You are a lab rat. I’m testing a theory and you’re merely providing evidence of it. The reality is that you’re just wrong and fighting this discourse out of ego – most likely because you are a young and low status male desperate for approval for dominance expression. And I’m using that against you to keep provoking you into seeing if there is at any point sufficient exhaustion of emotion that are are even willing or capable of seeking to understand, and exercising agency and reason over emotion.
    And yes I discuss this technique frequently which you could easily discover by searching my feed or even the internet for my name and ‘king of the hill games’.

    cheers

    YOu are presuming we are equals engaged in intellectually honest discourse, yet you pull childish games with every response.
    I have attempted to correct your behavior out of moral duty to help others.
    In other words it’s either help you evolve or criticize your false narrative as a means of defending the informational commons.
    In other words, I’m bearing responsibility and you’re evading it.
    I don’t need your permission to either help you or protect others from you.

    I am an expert in the field. It was faster to ask for the references and post a link than to type out the answers myself. You are engaging in ego defense in justification of your priors. This makes you intellectually dishonest because your emotions are driving your interpretation instead of your reason.
    I’m disrespecting your intellectual dishonesty on one hand but attempting to cure it on the other. Which is the moral thing to do. Which is what I always do.

    DON’T TAKE AI FOUNDATION MODEL CEO’s TOO SERIOUSLY
    I’d counsel against taking AI company leads terribly seriously when it comes to the economy. Most of it is motivated reasoning and attention seeking to cover their vast losses while keeping the financial markets betting on them. And while AI will have greater military consequences, robotics will have greater economic consequences. And even if we are to see unemployment rise from AI, solving the problem is a relatively easy opportunity for good, and civilizations have done so repeatedly in history. Periods of great architecture, art, infrastructure, technology, and science are often the product of shifting a polity and economy from individual consumption to collective production of commons that increase the quality of life for all.
    We have exhausted consumption as an economic vehicle and descended into consumption as a signaling method. It’s one of the sources of our political problems. Shifting to producing commons can restore unity in a population.

    Simon;
    While companies have indeed cited AI in tens of thousands of layoffs over the past year, much of this appears to be “AI-washing”—using the technology as a convenient justification for cost-cutting, restructuring, or correcting overhiring from the pandemic era, rather than direct, widespread replacement of workers by mature AI systems. Overall unemployment remains low (around 4.6% in the US as of late 2025), and AI’s impact so far has been more about automating specific tasks within jobs than causing net job losses across the economy. That said, adoption is accelerating, and projections suggest more disruption ahead, potentially displacing 92 million roles globally by 2030 while creating 170 million new ones for a net gain.

    TRADITIONAL MEDIA DEATH RATTLES
    You know, part of me enjoys the experience of the slow death of traditional media, and the withering of their conspiracy of common interest in sedition as means of obtaining shekels for attention under the false pretense of virtue. Make the nitwittery feel good while undermining the institutions that makes their self-absorbed naivety possible and contributes to expansion of “Bowling Alone”.

    Watching the Washington Post try to recover has reached the point where it’s embarrassing, like an actor overplaying his mortal wound.

    The NY Times and the LA Times are suffering but I haven’t finished enjoying their mortification. So I hope it plays out a little longer. It gives us time to fantasize about what epitaph to carve into their arrogant headstones.

    CNN (Warner), NBC (Comcast), ABC (Disney), and CBS (paramount) all are merely prestige organizations, that break even or lose money.

    @WallStreetMav

    Impolitic but correct answer:
    1) Elon is right in that the democratic party uses aid to finance seditionists, and that corruption amounts to about 1.5T a year.
    2) Between Blacks and Hispanics, both of whom are net losses every year, totally about 950B together, that means that our national debt, growing at a minimum of 2T per year, even at present levels of expenditure, would not exist without democratic corruption, and black, hispanic, and middle eastern minorities. And FWIW Asians and Hindustanis are net contributors.
    I’m not sure what to suggest we do about it. But denying it isn’t helping any.
