FROM ELSEWHERE: ON RORTY AND THE POST ANALYTIC MOVEMENT

Rorty is not important in the traditional contexts. If we consider the metaphysical and epistemological efforts in philosophy, then certainly the epistemological program has been fruitful, even if the metaphysical program has been a failure (in the sense of philosopher’s attempts to render philosophy into a science.)

Rorty, and the post-analytic program have been important in specifically abandoning the metaphysical program, first, and even the epistemic program, in order to return philosophy to meaningful use as a tool by which we can determine right actions both public an private.

The criticisms above do not account for the relative abandonment of philosophy outside of the discipline, specifically because the analytical program, which attempts to integrate physical sciences, while maintaining the dream of solving the metaphysical program, and therefore rendering philosophy into a science, and as a science, return it to legitimacy as an influential social program, which in turn will convey status upon its advocates – status that was lost when science and empiricism became dominant tools, abandoning philosophy altogether.

The post-analytical movement is an attempt to correct this problem in philosophy and to return it to its relevance in society. Experimental psychology, biology and economics are providing us the answers that philosophical introspection cannot.

While Rorty and others have not sufficiently divorced post analytic from analytic as thoroughly as analytic has been divorced from continental, and, continental and enlightenment from religion, they have at least acknowledged and attempted to work at solving the problem of making philosophical reasoning once again useful, by applying it to practical matters, and treating scientific information first and foremost, using philosophy to assist us in properly understanding that scientific information.

I believe it is possible to create a unified philosophical framework for discussion of meaningful ideas

I also realize that to make this argument forces those indoctrinated and habituated into philosophy that attempts to solve the metaphysical program to consider that their fascinations, problems, hobbies and careers are an outdated technology akin to cobol programming or water wheel construction. 🙂

But then, an economist would argue that this makes sense, because it is too great an effort to change one’s point of view without material incentives. 🙂

    Cheers

    I LOVE THESE PEOPLE

Seriously. I want to just hug them at random. And I’d give into impulse and do it if I thought I could get away with it.

Now, sure, I’m not yet sensitized to the cacophony of signals. And sure, I tend to broadcast my own, which positively colors the reactions of others to me in this environment.

But that said. It seems that a smile and consideration are more valuable currencies here. More like the small towns that some of us still remember growing up in.

I’m working on a bit of theory here that I’m trying to convert into propertarian language. I can’t quite do it yet.

But we know that there is a small and maximum diversity if race, religion and culture that allows normative excellences to develop before these same interpersonal “calculations’ must be diverted to accommodative compromises.

One easily visible example is the loss of rhyme, poetic expression, alliteration, subtlety and allegory, especially literary allegory from american English And it has had and will continue to have extraordinary consequences for not only norms, but the structure of the physical mind, and for the unarticulated habitual metaphysics of the population.

We have diverted extraordinary efforts to accommodate diversity for no other reason than to preserve the monolithic state. Yet that monolithic state exists entirely for the purpose of conducting warfare. First to conquer and profit from the continent. Second to protect that continent from European adventurism. And finally to protect the west after its suicide, from communism.

Now these habits are norms, and these norms embodied in socialist myth and political institutions. And our pursuit of excellences is abandoned in favor of compromises. not just in our language. But in dysgenic breeding and outbreeding.

One can lament a ones culture. We have been lamenting ours for a century now.

But lamenting is romantic. Institutions grounded in norms are functional technologies.

We lost mortar and cement for what, the better part of thousand years? We lost reason for approximately the same.

We lost literacy for as long

The first Greeks lost writing for six hundred years.

The path of civilization through time is not linear. It includes cataclysmic boundaries.

The most expensive technologies to develop in any civilization are norms.

Yet we treat them as given.

“Despite this fast growth among “catching-up” countries, the rankings of GDP per capita in 2011 and 2060 are projected to remain very similar”

I hate to share a link from one of the two sites that have banned me. But the article and external links are worth it.

While progressives look for reasons to justify their one world fantasy, those of us who know better see reduced western privilege leading to resurgent nationalism, and permanent friction as large poor countries remain permanently unequal. And as such doom the western lower classes to exactly the opposite future that they and their absurd egalitarian policies fantasizes about.

Only innovation defeats Malthus. And with innovation comes greater intellectual demand on citizens.

The fact that we have held Malthus at bay is a temporary product of asymmetric development and the conversion of farm to industrial labor. And that is a temporary conversion since labor is just as rapidly replaced both technically through productivity and geographically through labor competition.

We will get either a eugenic or disgenic result from our egalitarian universalist fantasy.

What we will not get is a harmonious egalitarian world order.

CULTURAL OBSERVATIONS : MOTHERS, USELESS MALES AND MISSING CHIVALRY

A country where the men stand around, watch what’s going on, direct the women as if they are somehow adding value to the obvious, and the women humor the men, mollify them sufficiently as if they’re afraid of being beaten, and then do all the work as if the men weren’t there anyway.

I am not a feminist. I also do not believe that men should willingly abandon their wealth of violence in order to become subjects of a mythical common good. But the fact is, that more than 1/3 of men are unnecessary unless we rely on manual labor, and they are entirely useless to society.

However, they are born to and raised by mothers whose genes and choice of mates is insufficient for producing individual males capable of production in post-labor societies.

“Choice” means that a woman has full control of breeding, and that the compromise “peace” that was achieved by the nuclear family under agrarianism, where the farm was a family business, and the family was the smallest tribe that it is possible to form, and where both male and female breeding strategies could be satisfied with limited compromise.

Men are what mothers breed, and make them. While they have innate tendencies that are very different from those of women, most of what we call civilization is creating rules and incentives that direct men’s energies to the pursuit of status and behavior that is beneficial for all.

So who is to blame for the behavior of men here?

They have not abandoned their wealth of violence. That’s obvious. Neither domestically, politically, economically or socially. And for that I admire them. HOwever, without chivalry, they have no means of directing their energies to service of others.

And without mothers who understand chivalry, they have no one to teach them.

    CULTURAL OBSERVATIONS:SEXUALITY

An advertisement that’s everywhere downtown for a strip club that caters to women.

There are all sorts of strip clubs. Not having moved fully to the Internet, prostitution is pervasive in nightclubs, and according to the local English language newspaper, includes average girls just trying to pay for college.

I am not a feminist by any means. And as a libertarian I don’t have a problem with prostitution. But the fact they the government has abandoned the common people to a degree that it’s this pervasive is simply an institutional failure of absurd proportions given the literacy and education of the populace.

Like most countries the political class treats education as a ticket to prosperity and a cheap enticement to earn the loyalty of citizens.

But the distribution of intelligence, manners and morals guarantees that education is available for use by 20% of the populace and the remainder are saddled with disappointment and debt – neither of which can be satisfied.

Meanwhile the state uses the disaffection that it created with false promises to justify attacks on the private sector.

    It’s madness.

    Curt

WTF? Cute tactic as a means of trying to deny me access to my son as leverage to get more money. Well, how does that explain my extenuated rotund period? 🙂 Until I dated again, I certainly didn’t push fashion. Personally, if I didn’t have to raise money and sell ideas to other people, I’d wear jeans and untucked collared shirts half unbuttoned, with long hair and sneakers. I’d look like a rumpled professor. And I certainly would’t shave my chest any longer. That’s the inner me. OK? I think ‘adornment’ equates to having to sell s**t for a living. It’s the people that dont sell s**t for a living that dress up that always bother me. If selling s**t is sociopathic then we’re all in for an interesting world someday.

In fact. WTF. Save teh dressup for the club scene.

TEACHERS AREN”T SKILLED THEY ARE TALENTED

There is no functional difference between a teacher with three months of training and one with twenty years of experience. In fact, it appears that we are better off with teachers who have three months of training, because they bring more passion to an industry that like entertainment, is dependent more on emotional devotion than wisdom.

We would be far better off Rotating retirees through the educational system than continuing the masquerade that teaching gradeschool students is a profession.

Whether you like this or not is not something that I can compensate for. It is simply a fact of life. Making a protected career for the bottom 16% of high school graduates out of what should be a social service conducted by those people who have demonstrated success in other careers, is simply nonsensical.
