    Heroism and Sovereignty vs Individualism and Liberty.

    Western ethic was the former. Enlightenment expansion the latter.

    The former earned. The latter a given of nature.

    All cults require rituals and the more costly the ritual the more we adhere to the cult. (Loss aversion). The lower the cost the lower the adherence – in all walks of life.

    The pre-state people took oaths to create liberty. The post state people were to led believe they were given liberty by nature.

    But one cannot be given liberty – one can only create it.

    Liberty given is not liberty – but permission.

    Liberty by social contract has no cost – and is not protected.

    Sovereignty is constructed and defended at personal cost by heroes.

    Everyone else merely has permission – or not.

    Everyone else merely enjoys a condition of liberty by heroes’ permission.

    The reason we don’t have a lot of species left on this planet is that we didn’t pacify them.

    Now some animals can be pacified by domestication.

    But other animals must be pacified by genetic engineering.

    Most pacification means limiting maturity to the minimum necessary for reproduction.

    Yeah. I’m controversial. Although, It’s somewhat odd to me that advocating truth-telling, not-stealing, limiting public publication to truthful statements, converting to market rather than authoritarian government, and paying poor people in exchange for having just one kid, is controversial.

    Slaying sacred ideological cows in every era is controversial. But then, I don’t know why advocating deceitful speech, authoritarianism, theft, and systemic parasitism isn’t more controversial in every era.

    Only thing I tend to suggest is that women need a separate house of government limited to short term decisions, and men to focus on the long term.

    This creates a market between the genders just as marriage and mating create a market between the genders.

    The problem with our government is that it was a market between men of different classes each who represented families and extended families and manors. It was an extension of the family.

    We violated the family by giving women power over the destruction of the family in favor of short term wants.

    No one is really at fault here. We just didn’t know and as westerners we were utopian in the first place, and secondly, we were wealthy from the new era of atlantic trade, and expanding colonies.

    Wealth makes us less risk averse. We needed to be more cautious.
