    all work and no play makes curt a dull boy, but sure as heck gets a lot of work done….

    I wrote all of the permissions documentation today, and a chunk of the workflow – and I am going to see if I can get thru the workflow before I sleep tonight.

    It takes a lot more time to write the functional documentation (what, and why) than it does the how documentation. Pretty soon I ‘ll be done with all the user-level why and what, and have just HOW to work on. And I can’t wait.

    sigh…

    Writing documentation makes you see all the nits – both good and bad. I knew there were at least two shortcomings that we hadn’t solved in development prior to beta – simply due to time constraints. But I did find one more over the past two days. I had it in my head it was done but it wasn’t. Which I guess turns out ok, since the way we would do it today is different and better than we would have in the past. But every other issue I thought that I found, I was wrong.

    Fun stuff.

    OVERSING UPDATE

    Well, “Deliverable Accounting” will be done today it seems. So lets say you make a deliverable (any container really). It can be a sprint for example, or a phase, or just a job, or just a milestone. And we track additions, subtractions and completions, producing the usual burn down charts etc.

    We are trying to avoid too-nerdy reports. The reason being that they produce rapidly diminishing returns and they aren’t tolerable for non-nerd users. We will see how it goes. Right now they’re very simple and we want to keep them that way.

    So now, that means there are two open issues:

    1) The reports (four of which are necessary, the rest can come out incrementally)

    2) Appointments/Reservations on the gantt chart.

    And bug bashing will continue through the beta program. We are still finding some little ones. Mostly permissions related I think.

    Now, MBTI Maps to most of Big 5, if we express big 5 as spectra rather than as ideal types.
