    (Thoughts on Intellectual Decline)
The postwar academy was bad enough. We lost the ability to conduct social science rather early – during the world wars. We lost the ability to think scientifically by the capture of the academy by the jewish left. And we lost the ability to speak the truth with the capture of the academy by women. As a consequence we are losing the capacity to think and reason as well as speak the truth before face.

I’m listening to a late eighties interview of an influential scholar at Cambridge. And I’ve listened to and read Bertrand Russell for example. And while Russell is quite silly in many ways, he is a solid thinker. Of course I consider myself a product of Darwin, Hayek, Popper, Becker, and Turing. Though we should give credit to Aquinas, Bacon and Occam in their generation and Smith-Hume-Blackstone in theirs, as much as Darwin, Spencer, Nietzche, Maxwell in theirs. But otherwise, outside of genetics, medicine, and tech, we have seen nearly all thought in the behavioral sciences (other than some aspects of economics), result in error, bias, and fraud.

So, it’s become increasingly clear that (a) classical liberalism = being english, and (b) scientific thought = being english. The degree to which these genetics culture institutions and systems of thought are related is not something we were terribly happy in the postwar period to imagine. Even if it was considered obvious pre-war.

    (Ruminations)
Watching the people working closest to me incrementally understand ‘the work’ is fascinating. Yesterday, Brad seemed to finally understand ‘it’s all geometry’. (Explaining this is quite difficult however.) Better said that geometry is a superior frame of reference for understanding the first principles, applied first principles, and resulting general rules of all existence.

Now, for those who have been with me for say, the past six years, you might recall that back then, I attempted to create a course on natural law (“The Work”) starting with geometry as the model upon which the rest would be built. But it wasn’t long before I understood people couldn’t grasp it because more context was needed TO grasp it.

Brad helped convince me to construct The Work from physics upward instead of logic (geometry) upward, or ethics outward. And it’s fascinating that having worked on reducing the first principles of the physical world to ternary logic, that upon doing so, sufficient context exists that Brad, on his own, grasped “it’s just geometry”.

Working from physics upward was not intuitive – at least for me – because I spent so much effort and interest on logic and grammars. So in my ‘worldview’, we start with logic and language to connect man’s ability to sense, percieve, and test information about the world by ‘man is the measure of all things to man’, to the physical, behavioral, and evolutionary laws. But this approach was backwards – for no other reason than the internal workings of the brain and mind are unknown and often not only misunderstood, but entirely false, for most ( almost all ) of mankind.

So we must teach the patterns of existence first, and then teach the logics – and in teaching the logics we learn the mind of man and the ‘mind’ of the universe, and realize …. they are the same.

The Left hates the truth, and in particular truth-before-face, because … “Truth is Enough”. That’s all it takes. Because the Feminine, Jewish, Left sequence is nothing more than an effort to deny the truth of the laws of the universe, using lies and false promises that social construction can overcome physics.

Most of my (our) work is the result of solving the problem of truth, and applying it to the law, so that we can test the truthfulness of those who would seek to lie to, deceive, defraud, undermine, and sedition against us and our civilization – the one civilization that practices truth before face regardless of cost.

OK. I approve of @grok – it’s not nerfed (‘woke’). It’s synthetic reasoning is typical of the tech stack. But it’s logical reasoning is weak. The only logical reasoning I have found is in GPT4+.

The AI mission is simply to mirror the brain’s recursive hierarchy, and massive parallelism. You can see OpenAI doing a heroic job of trying multiple parallel predictions (variations) and competitive recursion using them. So they ARE trying to vaguely follow the brain’s cognitive organization.

And while emergent properties are possible, my intuition says that (a) costs will continue to increase using the current hardware, and (b) costs can’t come down without neuromorphic computing (I assume – I don’t know this for certain).

I believe nothing, as I am an epistemologist, scientist and operationalist – though I am aware that in all eras there are advangages, or opportunities, made possible by geographic, demographic, technological and conceptual conditions of the moment that people with the ability to do so with the incentive to organize by intent, common interest, or pragmatic utility, knowingly or not, to exploit, and in doing so claim they are ‘doing good’ despite that their efforts produce externalities, and that those externalities often deprive people of choices they might otherwise make that would not produce those externalities. In this, there is no difference between the ages and civilizations other than the greater or lesser utility of each of the three means of human coercion. The primary problem of the age is the failure of states (other than france) to capture fiat money (central banks) so that dividends of government are preserved for the people rather than privatized. And I further understand that the monarchies should have, and would best have, been stewards of these treasuries instead of governments. I further understand that the central subsequent problem has been the introduction of women and a specific group that practices the female group strategy, and that this pairing is the only material source of western civilizational problems as the combination of finance hostile interest, and feminine interest in responsibilty evasion work their way through the institutions of cultural production – as they intended to.

Every axial age thinker was trying to solve the problem of the post-bronze-age collapse restoration of production, trade, government, and the consequential contact between peoples – especially given the radical change brought about by the indo european expansion that caused that bronze age collapse directly or indirectly.

People need a system of measurement (rules, norms, traditions, laws, methaphysical beliefs). But all humans try to economize on religious social economic and political change by doubling down on their group evolutionary strategy which is and always has been metaphysical presumption (at least until now) and not consciously known to them.

That strategy was an accident of time place and circumstance. But it is the only system of measurement that all people in a polity are indoctrinated into by the mere experience of life in a culture or civilization. It’s ‘firmware’ instead of software or data.

But what do we mean by a ‘system of measurement that facilitates cooperation within a group evolutionary strategy people are unconsious of?

Well you know, we have arithmetic, math, geometry, calculus, and analysis. That’s a sequence of additional dimensions of measurement.

And we also have the entire human sequence of proprioception > embodiment > prediction > empathy/sympath/imitation > words (of Names, Actions, Agreements) > language (serial continuous recursive disambiguation) > narratives (sequencdes of episodes) > stories > mythology (arbitrary) > mythicism(purposeful) > theology (organized) > Regression(Theravada Buddhistm(a proto-philosophy) > Mahayana and Vaijriana Buddhism v2 (religion) > Confucian Philosophy(harmony, Sayings) > Platonic Philosophy (idealism, literary) > Epicurian-Aristotelian Philosophy (reason, skepticism) > Empiricism (observables, skepticism) > Rationalism ((kant) reason, observables, non-contradiction) > Science “Laws of Nature” ( testimony to empiricism under realism and naturalism and operationalism) > “Natural Law” (Science of Cooperation) > Computation (construction from first principles (laws)) > Increases in parsimony due to convergence.

Note that in that sequence we increasingly need writing, then numbers, then increases in mathematics with math evolving into three categories of (a) math(description) (b) calculus (change) (b) computation(variation) (c) simulation (comptetition). Each of those paradigms consists of the logic of more dimensions of reality.

And so, all that differs between the grammars of ‘should’ and ‘is’ are what dimensions are permissible and the training necessary to incdrease the scope of our perception sufficient to defend ourselves from the dark forces of time and ignorance that seek to exterminate us with regularity.

So what matters? All of them matter if they are consistent across the hgrammars. all of them are harmful if they deviate from the laws of nature that god put in place. And from that view, most prophets and philosophers have been partly right but largely devastatingly wrong and have caused more death than any warrior could imagine.,

So what is the difference between a myth, a mythicist, a theologian, each of the states in the specrtrum of philosopy, and science and computation?

The difference is (a) what is possible within the group strategy of the people (b) what is possible to teach or bait the people into (c) the institutions available to make that change (d) and the consequence of trying to make that change in a universe that is quite unforgiving of our follies.

    Cheers

Most of the Feminine, Abrahamic, Marxist, Pomo, Woke, Left’s work is dedicated to agitating cognitively feminine neuroticism, blame avoidance, responsibility avoidance, and self-regulatory avoidance, by social constsruction of false narratives of oppression in the same civilization that has most eradicated oppression and most extended natural rights – it is only under the feeling of justification of oppression or harm that the feminine mind feels safe in exercizing antisocial antieconomic antipolitical and anticivilizational behavior.

Europeans practice trifunctionalism, sovereignty, self determination, meritocracy, aristocracy, and impersonal rule of law more so than all other civilizations combined. Yet it is precisely this privilege and tolerance that the opposition (enemy) uses to incite sedition, and treason against our institutions and our civiliztaion by the false promise that the best there is, is somehow worse than every alternative man as or can try.

Why? The central premise of that Trifunctionalism, sovereignty, self determination, meritocracy, aristocracy, and impersonal rule of law, is the maximization of individual responsibilty to every individual in the polity, enabling us to create those high trust commons others cannot, institutions and industries others cnanot.

Yet what is the left selling? Freedom from the responsibiilty that made the luxury of their options possible.

WHY IS MARBLE PREFERRED FOR SCULPTING – AT LEAST THE HUMAN FORM?

Marble has been the preferred material for stone monumental sculpture since ancient times, with several advantages over its more common geological “parent” limestone. Here are some reasons why marble is preferred by sculptors:
Translucency: Among the commonly available stones, only marble has a slight translucency i.e. subsurface scattering that is comparable to that of human skin.
Texture and Sheen: The sheen and texture of marble are unmatched by other stones, making it an ideal choice for creating sculptures.
Grain Fineness: The fineness of marble’s grain enables the sculptor to render minute detail in a manner not always possible with limestone1.
Workability: Some types of marble also have the advantage that, when first quarried, it is relatively soft and easy to work, refine, and polish. As the finished marble ages, it becomes harder and more durable.
Hardness and Compressive Strength: Marble has a high level of hardness and compressive strength, making it ideal for sculpting.
Durability: Marble is resistant to weathering and decay, making it an ideal material for outdoor sculptures that must withstand the elements.

    RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LIMESTONE AND MARBLE
The minerals in limestone are cemented together by natural processes, while marble is a result of metamorphism which recrystallizes the calcite and dolomite.
Formation: Limestone is a sedimentary rock, typically composed of calcium carbonate fossils (shells and skeletons). When sedimentary limestone is compressed through rock-forming processes under extreme heat, marble is formed by the recrystallised grains.
Metamorphism: Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by the alteration of limestone by heat and pressure. The calcite in the limestone changes and fossils and layering in the original limestone disappear as interlocking grains grow. If the limestone is pure, a white marble is formed.
Recrystallization: The recrystallization process results in smaller grains and increases the overall strength of the marble.

  • “Why are we continually surprised by the level of evil women will do?”—Bryan W

—“Why are we continually surprised by the level of evil women will do?”—Bryan
We discussed this in a recent staff meeting because it was the most significant outstanding question in understanding the current crisis.

And it turns out that while the ‘true nature of women’ was preserved until women were given the vote, it’s a western metaphysical, cultural, traditional presumption that began with women taking care of the farms (business) while men fought in the summers, through the medieval period’s attempt to domesticate men via chivalric ethics – which didn’t work until the rise of the middle class – through the victorian period that sought to domesticate the underclasses into middle class behavior as the industrial revolution took hold on society – through the progressive movement by the new england protestant women to advance the black vote, as precursor to advance the women’s vote – through the postwar NeoMarxist-Postmodern-Feminist sequence to undermine the west using women and minorities (just as they had with christianity).

No other civilization lionizes women outside of their roles in family. And every other civilization except those that have followed our model (japan, korea) has maintained the traditional tradition of contraining women to the domain of emotions and outside of the demotions of management, government, and war.

I’m still working on this question a bit, and I’ll continue until I’ve falsified it down to the sequence of first principles. But as far as I know, this answer (above) is correct. It’s one of the many reasons why the west differs so greatly from the rest, such that we are “W.E.I.R.D.” Because we gave women responsibility and held them to it at the level of their competency, and maintained laws and customs that prevented the exercise of their natural antisocial to antipolitical behavior. In other words, our laws and customs limiting female anti-social/anti-political behavior: the demand for agency without responsibility, and the demand for irresponsibilty in all things, by social wafare
using “GSRRM” or the sequence of ‘undermining to canceling to sedition to treason’ – therby using the weapon they evolved to rally males against alphas so that women (or just females back then) could control their reproduction and mazimize the number of males from which they could extract resources.

These laws and traditions we no longer enforce because of our hypothesis of an equality among humans that does not exist and cannot exist, and if it existed we would not only no longer be human – we would no longer be conscious beings, and we would regress to the bottom of the distribution – which is exactly what’s happening as women and their demand for irresponsibilty is propagated through the civilization through the democratic institutions without defense against the feminine instinct to promote anti-social to anti-political behaivor.

  • WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR HIGH ART AND JUDGING HIGH ART? I teach that high art sh

WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR HIGH ART AND JUDGING HIGH ART?
I teach that high art should be judged by a concrete set of criteria: the materials, the craftsmanship using them, the design or aesthetics of the piece, the intellectual, cultural, and civilizational depth of content or meaning of the piece, it’s relevance to and position in the movement to which it belongs, and the scale – favoring monumental scale whenever possible.

Usually we use the sequence decoration, design, craft, art, and high art to distinguish between different art forms. In the language of art historians, “high art” is typically used to denote those art forms that have been historically associated with the fine arts and are often characterized by their perceived higher status or more sophisticated, intellectual appeal. High art is often seen as having a focus on aesthetics and is associated with works that have been created for contemplative or aesthetic purposes, and not merely functional or practical ones.

    CATEGORIES
High art typically includes works such as:
Painting – Especially classical forms such as portraiture, landscapes, historical scenes, or mythological subjects rendered with high technical skill.
Sculpture – Marble, bronze, or other high-quality materials sculpted into figures or scenes, often representing philosophical, historical, or mythological themes.
Literature – Works of poetry and prose that are considered to have literary merit or significant artistic quality.
Music – Classical music, opera, and complex instrumental compositions fall under this category.
Dance – Ballet and other forms of structured, theatrical dance are included.
Theater – This includes both dramatic and comedic works that are considered to have enduring and high cultural value.
Architecture – Structures that are valued for their aesthetic, architectural innovation or historical significance.

High art is traditionally thought to require a cultivated taste to be appreciated, which contrasts it with “low” or popular art forms that are generally more accessible and designed for mass consumption. However, the distinction between high and low art has been increasingly challenged and blurred, especially with the rise of postmodern art movements that reject such hierarchical categorizations.

    CRITERIA
The criteria for judging high art is deeply rooted in the traditions of art theory and criticism. Let’s look at each element:

Materials: The intrinsic value and durability of the materials used can signify the work’s intended permanence and importance. Historically, works made with precious or enduring materials are often classified as high art.
Craftsmanship: The level of skill and expertise in manipulating materials is a testament to the artist’s mastery and the art’s potential to stand the test of time, an important consideration in historical high art.
Design or Aesthetics: The formal qualities of art, including balance, proportion, harmony, and beauty, are crucial in art historical evaluation. The aesthetic innovation or adherence to classical standards often informs the work’s standing within the high art category.
Intellectual, Cultural, and Civilizational Depth: This expands the content or meaning of a piece to include its ability to engage with and reflect upon broader intellectual, cultural, and civilizational discourses, which has always been a hallmark of high art through the ages.
Relevance to a Movement: The work’s contribution to, representation of, or challenge to artistic movements is a key factor in historical significance and classification as high art, signaling its pivotal role in the evolution of art history.
Scale: Monumental scale can be indicative of high art, partly because it suggests a level of ambition and resource investment, and partly because such works are often public or state commissions, which historically have had high status.

This framework mirros the historical record and the scholarly discourse in high art. It encapsulates many of the attributes that have been revered and sought after in the arts over the centuries. The inclusion of intellectual, cultural, and civilizational depth particularly underscores the expectation that high art should engage with significant themes and contribute to the discourse of its time, which is a persistent thread throughout art history.
