    GREAT QUESTION
    (counter intuitive answer)
    a) Our ‘care of our own’ requires preserving the advantages that we’ve spent since 1945 creating, ending the age of empires and monopoly trade routes and massive wars, by converting to nation states, federations, and free trade routes, limiting the scale of wars.
    b) to accomplish this feat we ‘burned down’ the advantages of our laboring, working, and middle classes by bribing countries into free trade, and weaponized our upper middle and upper classes through financialization to pay for it, and using the military to insure it worldwide (largely because economics = petroleum(energy) per capita).
    c) Since Trump’s election we have been (he has been) trying to force the developed world to share the burden of the cost of policing the world.
    d) But we didn’t expect china or russia or iran to double down on imperialism. But they saw the opportunity to preserve their authoritarianism and privilege as we gradually withdrew. In other words, we were too optimistic about the ‘lagging civilizations’.
    e) So the only way to prevent a restoration of empires and world wars, and poverty that results, we are trying to wear out the last breath of these wanna-be empires.
    f) Israel and Ukraine (somewhat like South Korea and Japan) are extremely cheap means of preventing these empires, exhausting them, until the natural weight of their political failures causes (what we hope is) the transformation to nation states and federations that equally value the extraordinary value of free trade, and the end of and prohibition on empires that destroy the returns on that free trade.

So to summarize, no, there is no better cheaper way with fewer deaths, than repatriation of production and restoration of laboring, working, and middle class incomes, but at the same time, preserving the rules based world order of free trade, respected borders, and natural (human) rights, tehreby directing all state energies to domeistic improvement rather than foreign aggression.

We are doing the right thing.
The fact that It takes this particular philosopher and social scientist to explain such a thing is the only thing that bothers me – the politicians for some reason think americans are too stupid to grasp this rather simple argument.

There is a reason for law, contracts, insurance, and a division of responsibility. You may percieve such a thing as you do, but you do not have the power to decide such things – and if you did, you would be compelled to make the same decision as I’ve stated.

It’s the armorer. The armorer is responsible for compensating for the inexperience of everyone on set. They did not hire a competent armorer, and the weapons were not under her control the entire time, and she did not verify the condition of the weapons and ammo prior to placing it in the actor’s hands – the reason we have armorers is to limit the liability of actors and the studio for these kinds of mistakes. Traditionally armorers and other ‘safety’ professionals are there to carry the burden of responsibility that actors may or may not be capable of.
Usually, someone has to override the safety personnel. In the past a director of a movie about musician Greg Allman, overrode the safety people and went to prison for it. And Hollywood is full of injuries from stunts – which is somewhat expected.
We have lost a number of great actors to these issues over the years with the most famous being Brandon Lee on the set of the Crow. Vic Morrow from a helicopter accident. And of course Bruce Willis’ career went south after a head injury from a pyrotechnic during Tears of the Sun.

As far as I know, there is no other test of concurrency of wants between sexes, classes, and regions than the market for votes – whether individual, proportional, or economic. Conversely there are insufficient tests of the limits on amendments, legislation, regulation, and command. And there may be insufficient insurance of the court’s decisions by the military, militia, and people in defense of rule of law.
What you’re saying (and yes you’re a good person Tom) is that you don’t know how to solve the problem. Yet, we have plenty of evidence of how to solve the problem. We just experiment and learn from each experiment. And as I stated in my previous response, our current experiment with wider participation, wider participation without a separate house, and especially participation with women without a separate house for them, has been a failure.

Women are the reason for the decline in education.
Male increases in productivity pre-and-postwar are the reason for the decline in poverty.
Women in the workplace collapsed reproduction and the family as the purpose of policy.
Women are largely responsible for evading reproduction necessary to prevent regression to the mean, such that we have lost 1SD so far and will lose another SD by the end of the century reducing the USA to a third-world country.
