Probably it’s back and forth continuously since before the persian gulf flood it was probably as good or better there than in the rift valley. It’s the birthplace of eurasians so something beneficial had to be going on there. We just can’t see it because its under water.

All of us trace back to three urheimats, yes, that’s why we talk in terms of races (subspecies or species), and subraces (subspecies) and ethnicities. But that categorization is an accurate reflection of group traits and group differences in evolutionary progress (neoteny).

Genetic data looks like south eurasians moved west and populated north africa, then afro asiatic spread from nile and red sea region into levant and Mesopotamia. But there are three competing theories. Sumerians did not speak it. Earlier peoples did. Many isolates.

East african rift valley is the urheimat for homo sapiens sapiens. Exit was across the straights. the earlier north exit was defeated by Neandertals in retreat. Arabization of east Africa was relatively recent beginning in (i think) 800 bc.

Linquistic is not the same as genetic. Although there are surprises. I don’t think any of us thought that india was produced by two waves out of iranic peoples (agrarian and steppe) and one wave of earlier coastal dispersion, or that the IE urheimat was north of the black sea.
