You’re simply mistaking things.

In the case of stigma (scarlet letter) you’re talking about norms.

Shaming to maintain order.

GRSM is shaming to undermine order (create chaos).

Shaming isn’t wrong.

Subversion is.

3 – The difference is:

… (a) cost and severity of punishment must fit the crime.

… (b) shaming is cheap to perform and to correct

… (c) violence is expensive to perform and to correct.

4 – GSRRM (undermining) can be used to

… (a) suppress truth

… (b) undermine those who speak truth
