4. I’m sympathetic to these people because I can’t do my work in the academy for political reasons and because it’s not possible to assemble a dissertation committee on my topic.

3. This physicist has been derided for his overconfidence and (like Eric W ) feeling that the institutions hostile to theories that would cause unemployment because of careers spent on failures.
