Law produced trifunctionalism. Trifuctionalism prevented power consolidation. The classes cooperated under trifunctionalism. This hyper innovative, hyper-adaptive order has a consequence: it’s eugenic. Christianity provided a means of virtue at the bottom, w/o wealth or power.

@SarahGrynpas @AlanLevinovitz There are only three methods of human coercion (force/state, exchange/law, ostraczation/inclusion/religion). All civilization develop institutions some order. The order of institutions causes founder effects that are immutable. Europeans discovered law first.
