    HEROISM VS INDIVIDUALISM.

    (think about this a bit)

Heroism and Sovereignty vs Individualism and Liberty.

Western ethic was the former. Enlightenment expansion the latter.

The former earned. The latter a given of nature.

All cults require rituals and the more costly the ritual the more we adhere to the cult. (Loss aversion). The lower the cost the lower the adherence – in all walks of life.

The pre-state people took oaths to create liberty. The post state people were to led believe they were given liberty by nature.

But one cannot be given liberty – one can only create it.

Liberty given is not liberty – but permission.

Liberty by social contract has no cost – and is not protected.

Sovereignty is constructed and defended at personal cost by heroes.

Everyone else merely has permission – or not.

Everyone else merely enjoys a condition of liberty by heroes’ permission.

Sorry. The oath of allegiance needs updating. Take it, Live it. Leave, or die.

—I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.—

THE SECRETS OF THE WEST!!! WHY WE WERE FASTER THAN THE REST.

    THE SECRETS OF THE WEST

    1) Heroism-Excellence, Sovereignty-Property-VoluntaryExchange.

    2) Truth, Reason, Rationalism, Science.

    3) Testimony, Jury, Common Law, Contract,

    4) Money, Saving, Interest, Accounting

    5) Market for Production and Consumption (investment in personal consumables), Market for Commons (Investment in group non-consumables).

    THE RESULT IS A SUPERCOMPUTER

***Voluntary cooperation as a means of distributed calculation of correspondence with reality in real time.***

***A human computing network whose test of equality is productive, fully informed, warrantied, voluntary transfer, free of externalities to the contrary, and whose single rule of computability is non-parasitism: objective morality.***

(Note that It’s HEROISM not INDIVIDUALISM. (dammit!) “individualism is a free riding scam attempting to equate excellence with the ordinary. it’s a form of communism. You must choose to pay the cost of heroism, we grant you permission for individualism.)

    THE CONSEQUENCES

From this we obtain the post-cooperative technologies of

    Ratio-empiricism or “science” – (epistemology)

    engineering, technology – (production)

the market for goods and services (consumption)

    the market for commons (investment)

    Medicine, (maintenance)

THE WEST WAS *FASTER* THAN THE REST

This is the west and why we evolved faster than the rest: everything we do is a truth test. No other culture succeeded because they never could develop trust sufficiently to construct perpetual demand for truth.

    LONG AMERICAN WORK HOURS? WHY?

Lack of hierarchy. Extreme information gathering. Unnecessary Negotiating.

Would we change less sovereignty and more hierarchy for more time?

    I kind of doubt it.

(I’m tying this behavior to loneliness. work socialization is a vent.)

Conversely, europeans who are far more provincial than we are (really) for all their criticism of our rural culture, would not. Because they don’t need socialization as much as we do.

  • Translating Chinese Policy Into Words

“[I]f we possess a reserve currency, and maintain the military means of defending it and our trade routes, then we can capture the premium on trafficking contracts, exchanges, and their negotiations currently captured by the British/American financial and trade route system – and by doing so may cause a drastic reduction in the USA’s ability to finance it’s system, provide competition to that trade system, provide one that is not as meritocratic but more suitable to our needs, and cause a significant drop in the american standard of living such that we restore our ancestral position as first-nation in the world.”

“Agree with what you wrote Curt, but while the meritocratic system worked for the US initially, the US just doesn’t make them like it used to. Therefore, the US is now viewed as a country no longer interested in propagating the best products/standards/ideas throughout the world, but in only maintaining its 80-year financial/military/industrial advantage. In short, the US is in danger, if it hasn’t already, of becoming just another friggin’ country. It’s a shame, but the Chinese are incentivised to overturn the existing system and to create a new one. As American living standards drop, so does its military capabilities, and I suspect that’s what China is really after.” — Sean Ring
