It’s not hidden knowledge. You just lack the cross domain knowledge (which is almost universal in the contemporary academy) to engage in the discussion.

I can have these discussions with public figures in the field most of which are well known, with relative ease, but you aren’t even aware of these issues.

I mean, intuitionism, operationalism, Brouwer, Bridgman? I mean… are you in expert in doing math? Maybe, but do you know what math consists of and what it means? It’s the dumbest language man has invented. It consists of positional names, positional naming, addition/subtraction, and agreement on less, more, equals. In other words it’s a glorified balance scale, which is how and why it came into being. But that ‘dumbness’ is why it’s so invulnerable to conflation and inflation, even if the discipline relies on conflationary inflationary concepts (like conflating count and direction), or the rather silly necessity of the square root of a negative one to compensate for it by rotation. I mean, I kind of consider most mathematical grammar silly (and Micheal in our organization works on reforming it).

  • WHY THE NEW AGE SEARCH FOR PSEUDO-RELIGION, OR, CONVERSELY RELIGIOUS REGRESSION?

WHY THE NEW AGE SEARCH FOR PSEUDO-RELIGION, OR, CONVERSELY RELIGIOUS REGRESSION?

Complaint: “Our science is ahead of us, and we are disoriented by the lack of emphasis on the human experience.”

That’s false. Let’s understand the problem correctly:

Our experiment with supernatural religion failed – hard. It produces the mysticism of the jews, who despite their literacy contributed nothing to knowledge until included into the european mainstream. It brought the Muslim destruction of seven great civilizations of the ancient world to ashes of ignorance and dysgenia, and plunged the European civilization into darkness that was not fully recovered until the age of Napoleon. And we still suffer it’s effects today, despite it’s rapid decline, because we are unable to produce a non-false substitute that will satisfy those who are most dependent upon the mindfulness provided by the false religion.

But, why are we in this position today?

We are no longer training mindfulness in education because the church taught it thru feminine Semitic superstition rather than masculine European stoicism ( which is the positive discipline version of the negative version we call cognitive behavioral therapy) .

In the search for human training and experience both the Greek way was and is, like all other Greek inventions, the optimum for human being because it is unlike all other methods, not false. Every other method is false.

In other words, there is a science of training the mind for the optimum human experience. And the Christians destroyed it purposefully and we are still trying in modernity to resurrect it because it is compatible with both science and human experience. Because it is the science of training the human experience to tolerate the anonymity and alienation of post-tribal hunter-gatherer human experience.

Sorry, but that’s the answer. It’s just expensive, so it requires the same institutional support and services as Stoicism, Buddhism or any of the less desirable, more false religions.

Because the purpose of religion is exactly the provision of that mindfulness. So we must train the body thru sport, the intuition into mindfulness, the mind through general education, and the citizen through employable skills.

So, the belief we are ahead of ourselves in science is as false as it was in antiquity. Instead we are behind in non-false reformation of religion that teaches mindfulness, physical fitness, and citizenship to take advantage of the innovations of science.

And the obstacle to reform is the federal control of education and the entrenched interests, particularly the negative influence of women and activists, producing infantile snowflakes instead of train competent adult human beings.

We do require a reformation, but not as these and other authors suggest by further abandonment of responsibility and competence that continues our evolutionary velocity and resulting prosperity, but instead to provide training of the whole person such that we prosper and enjoy the possibilities our discoveries have provided for us.

    No more regressions, please.

The last dark age was bad enough. And we are just as close to another dark age and for the same reasons as the Romans, as we are to that promised future of the Jetsons and the first Star Trek series.

    It’s an easy choice.
It’s just the choice of responsibility rather than regression.

    Cheers.

Eric, let me know if you want me to contribute here I haven’t been following this thread and just caught on. My comment so far would be that math doesn’t map to reality that’s why it fails at the very small and at the vey complex. Math is just another language. It’s a very simple language with positional names, variations on one operator (addition/subtraction) and agreement on position (=<>). Worse mathematical reducibility is limited, while computational is not – at least independent of time. In lather words all mathematics is statistical, and continuous. Where the universe is discrete and occasionally manifests regularities that are mathematically reducible to expression in continuous terms. The failure of physics over the past fifty years is due to a failure to comprehend the limits of mathematics. The failure in economics is due to the limits of math. While n dimensional relations exist in semantics (current ai), they do not exist elsewhere.

I only gave you one bit of information, so don’t extrapolate from it yet. 😉
    Explanation:
There are four possible values to every position (SNP). This is the base-four logic of the genome. Each position can carry a bit.
    0: adenine (A), 1: guanine (G), 2: cytosine (C), and 3: thymine (T).
The SNP is first of the opportunities for mutation in the chain of opportunities for mutation. I’m not going to list them all here for now.
And SNPs are the most common type of genetic variation among people.
SNPs occur at a frequency of about 1 in every 300 nucleotides. This means that in a human genome of about 3 billion base pairs, you could expect to find approximately 10 million SNPs.
That means we have 10 million variables to compare between people and groups.
When we measure SNPs we measure correlations between populations and expressed traits. So X population has his mutation, and Y population has that mutation etc.
So for example we know which genes cause skin color (just a few). But most traits are more complex than that.
Intelligence appears to include thousands of variations. Which could mean a few things – not all of which are intuitive. ie: is intelligence that forgiving? Is it that unprotected? is it available through many permutations?
In the chart I posted the data shows a high correlation between a group’s SNP “pattern’, and their resulting IQ test scores. This is pretty convincing evidence and should end the IQ difference question.
