With so much at stake, Americans deserve a clear picture of what we believe. Principles endure. Ideas endure. https://t.co/ZH2ZgP5UXs

  • Myth, Religion, Literature, Philosophy, as Promises of Opportunity for Free Riding

[W]hy do we love myth, religion, literature, philosophy, so dearly and pursue history, science, and the various grammars (logics) of calculation with such reluctance? The method of communication is experiential in the first and not so in the second. Our mythology promises opportunities to free ride. The truth does not.

Was it only when people gave up on genuine love, between husband and wife, parents and children, that everyone started worrying about hate?

THE GREAT LIES OF BOTH ERAS

(Having an angry moment over “the big lies”.)

Before the hebrew bible there were myths. But it was the invention of lying. Its the invention of the big lie.

The battle between the cities in the ancient world is this:

    Lying: Jerusalem

    Storytelling: Egypt (Memphis/Thebes?)

    Reason: Greece/Athens

    Truth: Rome.)

    Pragmatism: Sparta.

Let that sink in a bit.

    Lying: The Ashkenazi Enlightenment

    Storytelling: The French Enlightenment

    Reason: The German Enlightenment

    Truth: The anglo enlightenment

    Pragmatism: America

Let that sink in some more.

  • PHILOSOPHY IS FINISHED. THE REST IS LITERATURE, MYTH, AND RELIGION Interesting.

PHILOSOPHY IS FINISHED. THE REST IS LITERATURE, MYTH, AND RELIGION

    Interesting. Reading top philosopher’s lists.

Advocates of philosophy conflate the impactful, the useful and the true. In retrospect we can see those who were meaningful (Aristotle, Bacon, Descartes, Hume, Locke, Jefferson.)

As far as I can tell, in retrospect, the problem all philosophers faced was that they were powerless observers, largely writing literature.

They feared, sought to entice, or sought to leverage, from either the church, the state, or their peers.

All the while, rulers ruled, merchants traded, and priests taught. These men only wrote. A few of them matter for the good. Most of them create as much or more harm than good.

    1) The only physical science is what we call physics (engineering).

    2) The only social science is what we call law(cooperation).

    3) The only philosophy testimony(truth).

    4) The only experiential science is aesthetics(experience).

Because these three things require action: existence.

    1) Action vs reaction in the physical universe. (engineering)

    2) Action vs reaction in the cooperative population (ethics/economics, sociology/politics)

    3) Action vs reaction in personal testimony. (truth/psychology)

    4) Acton vs reaction in experience (aesthetics)

    **[Aesthetics], Engineering, Law(cooperation), Testimony**

All disciplines fall within these three fields.

    This is the New Trivium.

    Testimony (the logics / ourselves)

    Law (cooperation / others)

Engineering (the hard sciences / the universe)

    [Aesthetics (the science of experiences)]

The rest is fantasy literature, religion, propaganda, and lies.

    Seriously.

    That’s all there is.

Nothing more. The rest is nonsense dreams are made of.

    Philosophy is finished.

    Only Science remains.
