POLITICS: The institutional means by which we jockey for, negotiate upon, decide upon which commons are produced with the scarce resources of the polity (population) – usually in the form of taxes, but also trade, behavior, and legislation. CULTURE: Myths, Traditions, Rituals, Holidays, Foods, Arts. Technically: the group’s evolutionary strategy, and the costs we pay to demonstrate reciprocal fitness (agreeableness) for that strategy.

  • Religions Are Easily Constructible by Truthful Means.

    I don’t believe in equality (monopoly) of men, or monopoly religion, or monopoly government, or the strategy of the herd (monopoly). Just the opposite. We all need a ‘cult’ but that cult needn’t be one of semitic evil, and we certainly have our original cult (germanic-greco-roman) to retunr to as well as our real heroes. Myth, oath, ritual, festival, gathering place. That’s what makes a cult. That’s what provides the ‘programming’. THere are many ways of doing it. And there is no evidence our way is good. Just the opposite. It’s bad. and judaism and islam are worse, and so is hinduism and buddhism. We had it right. Why we keep fucking it up is something we can explain now. But hero-ancestor-nature worship(appreciation/thankfulness) and stoicism (self-authoring in the virtues that produces mindfulness), and celebration of the seasons and cycles of life appears to be better than ‘all the lies’ of abrahamism.

    Don’t kid your self. Investors matter. Investor personality matters more. Investor strategy regarding exit matters more. Investor’s funding source stability more so. They will always think they are smarter than you are for the simple reason that they have to. They aren’t. They are however, better at insuring you against failure. The simple act of keeping them informed so that they know your progress, while performing such that they don’t feel the need to ‘interfere’ is the way to use their insurance value to insure you maintain the right behavior. In every company I’ve NOT bought the central problem has been trying to expand too early so that the hard work of interacting with customers is offloaded so that the team can ‘masturbate’ by working internally rather than working with customers and constantly adapting the organization to those customers. In every company I have bought, the opposite is true: they are constantly focused on customers and they real problem is that they underinvest in sales and marketing.
