It couldn’t have been family because family didn’t exist until relatively recently. A family is just the smallest tribe where male and female have the greatest sovereignty, so it’s an optimum for those with agency on one end, and insecurity on the other.

I suppose it’s not obvious that the value of a CEO to a company has increased dramatically and the value of labor has nearly evaporated.
The value is created by organizing – because it’s hard. Not by labor that’s easily replaceable by technology – and it’s only getting worse.
