If we make it clear that we’re prepared to fight, and we demonstrate relative immunity to their rally/shaming… so that the only ones responsive to their tactics anymore are state actors… well, those state actors need us to go to work and buy things and pay taxes, if we’re busy fighting them, their source of income becomes unstable. They’re more invested in the fragile system, so they’ll resist, but the system is fragile, so resistance isn’t be sustainable.
It’s a rock throwing contest in a glass house. The only interest they have in the outcome is that nobody throws too many rocks too hard. They need to convince us our cause is futile, so we stop throwing shit. Testing our limits by trying to ‘out throw us’ is only worth it to them if we look weak (unable to compete) &/or easily demoralized (unwilling to confront a challenging competitor).
Plus, many of these “state actors” are the same people who the left has been rallying and shaming against for a long time now with particular venom. So the allegiance is not strong. Essentially just mercenaries. A solid show of strength from us => Dominoes.
