    Agree.
The ‘framing’ as difficult is an effort to reduce immediate rejection for those who immediately reject what they do not on first blush comprehend.

Also, you’re not ‘average’ in ability whatsoever. 😉 And we who are blessed with above average ability tend to overestimate the common folk because we are possessed of the same bias as all folk, in that we presume more than is true how similar we are to others. 😉

WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR HIGH ART AND JUDGING HIGH ART?
I teach that high art should be judged by a concrete set of criteria: the materials, the craftsmanship using them, the design or aesthetics of the piece, the intellectual, cultural, and civilizational depth of content or meaning of the piece, it’s relevance to and position in the movement to which it belongs, and the scale – favoring monumental scale whenever possible.

Usually we use the sequence decoration, design, craft, art, and high art to distinguish between different art forms. In the language of art historians, “high art” is typically used to denote those art forms that have been historically associated with the fine arts and are often characterized by their perceived higher status or more sophisticated, intellectual appeal. High art is often seen as having a focus on aesthetics and is associated with works that have been created for contemplative or aesthetic purposes, and not merely functional or practical ones.

    CATEGORIES
High art typically includes works such as:
Painting – Especially classical forms such as portraiture, landscapes, historical scenes, or mythological subjects rendered with high technical skill.
Sculpture – Marble, bronze, or other high-quality materials sculpted into figures or scenes, often representing philosophical, historical, or mythological themes.
Literature – Works of poetry and prose that are considered to have literary merit or significant artistic quality.
Music – Classical music, opera, and complex instrumental compositions fall under this category.
Dance – Ballet and other forms of structured, theatrical dance are included.
Theater – This includes both dramatic and comedic works that are considered to have enduring and high cultural value.
Architecture – Structures that are valued for their aesthetic, architectural innovation or historical significance.

High art is traditionally thought to require a cultivated taste to be appreciated, which contrasts it with “low” or popular art forms that are generally more accessible and designed for mass consumption. However, the distinction between high and low art has been increasingly challenged and blurred, especially with the rise of postmodern art movements that reject such hierarchical categorizations.

    CRITERIA
The criteria for judging high art is deeply rooted in the traditions of art theory and criticism. Let’s look at each element:

Materials: The intrinsic value and durability of the materials used can signify the work’s intended permanence and importance. Historically, works made with precious or enduring materials are often classified as high art.
Craftsmanship: The level of skill and expertise in manipulating materials is a testament to the artist’s mastery and the art’s potential to stand the test of time, an important consideration in historical high art.
Design or Aesthetics: The formal qualities of art, including balance, proportion, harmony, and beauty, are crucial in art historical evaluation. The aesthetic innovation or adherence to classical standards often informs the work’s standing within the high art category.
Intellectual, Cultural, and Civilizational Depth: This expands the content or meaning of a piece to include its ability to engage with and reflect upon broader intellectual, cultural, and civilizational discourses, which has always been a hallmark of high art through the ages.
Relevance to a Movement: The work’s contribution to, representation of, or challenge to artistic movements is a key factor in historical significance and classification as high art, signaling its pivotal role in the evolution of art history.
Scale: Monumental scale can be indicative of high art, partly because it suggests a level of ambition and resource investment, and partly because such works are often public or state commissions, which historically have had high status.

This framework mirros the historical record and the scholarly discourse in high art. It encapsulates many of the attributes that have been revered and sought after in the arts over the centuries. The inclusion of intellectual, cultural, and civilizational depth particularly underscores the expectation that high art should engage with significant themes and contribute to the discourse of its time, which is a persistent thread throughout art history.

  • A superior people, with a superior culture, superior education, superior technol

A superior people, with a superior culture, superior education, superior technology, superior state, and superior civilization are replacing an inferior people and their inferior culture, eduction, tech, state, and civilization – just as has been occurring in the region for thousands of years. This will happen. It will happen because the Jews have no other choice -and they are superior in every single dimension.

The oddity is that both Jews and Muslims claim superiority when the evidence is the opposite. Else neither would be persecuted, contained, and defeated for their behavior by superior civilizations. This is why Islam cannot form either a stable state or a stable civilization: low trust, and low trustworthiness. Why? The religion intentionally dulls the mind into the feminine obsession with feelings – unlke western and eastern civ that excercise masculine reason. (Read my post on civilizational differences in ‘honor’ to learn that there is none in islam – only pride.)

This started 75 years ago? This started when barbarians from the arabian peninsula destroyed the great civilizations of the ancient world and reduced them to ashes of ignorance and decay: north african, egyptian, levantine, mesopotamian, anatolian, persian, and northwest indian. This started with the Romans defeating the Israelites and causing their diaspora, because they would not accept roman rule replacing greek rule, replacing the many rulers that came before them – because the region is incapable of self rule.

The failure of islamic civilization despite destruction of those great civilizations of the ancient world, and despite the presence of the fertile crescent’s great rivers of food production and trade transport, the mediterranian, red sea, persian gulf, indian ocean, caspian and black seas – and the overland trade route we called the silk road. Why is it that with all these luxuries, Islamic ciivilization declined constantly after the end of conquests? By 1000 it had destroyed the superior civilizations, the Persians tried to restore Greek (european) reason, yet returned to ignorance, superstition, fundamentalism, decline, and dysgenia. So that every conqueror whether persian or turk like all conquerors before them.

The only reason that the europeans did not conquer islam in the crusades was it’s lack of value. Instead, when the Turks took Constantinople and the muslims closed the ports to europeans, the Europeans created the age of sail, united the world, ended the possibility of the wealth of the silk road and the utility of those rivers, and the teat of trade islam had nursed it’s eternal childhood upon, ended. And then with the industrial revolution, like africa, islam was just another resource for europeans exploit, as did people of the region by the romans, and as did the greeks, as did the persians, as did the egyptians before them. Why is it your people are always the inferior civilization? Yet you arrogantly claim virtue? Superiority? That you are the final word on faith and the divine?

While east asia will not tolerate islam, the west is the most tolerant of civilizations, and at the present time, both jews and muslims are returning to historical tradition: that MENA civilization is incompatible with civilization itself.

There are six million people in the west bank and gaza. If you were good people you would find a bplace for them as we have found places for our own. Yet no one will have them. Why is it that no other muslim nation will have them?

The same reason the Israelies won’t have them.

And the same reason westerners are tiring of islam whether at home or abroad.

Why do I say this? We had our reforms. China had its reforms. India had it’s reforms. But islam has not had it’s reforms, and it needs those reforms worse than every other civilization.

If you understand the first principle of economics you will have the foundation to build the rest. Read Hazlitt’s economics in one lesson. I recommend Gary Becker economics of human behavior. Then you will approach economics from behavior outward rather than money inward.
