THE FUTURE OF BLUE CITIES IS FAVELAS
    You don’t understand at all.
The territories would separate from the blue cities leaving them city-states.
The red states would restore traditional behavioral limits and the dysfunctional would continue to self-deport to the blue cities to avoid prosecution.
The red people in blue cities would self-deport to the red territories.
The red territories would return to high-quality commons.
The blue cities would continue to devolve into a small elite in an urban core, surrounded by favelas, while the productive middle classes would self-deport to red cities absent blue city decadence.
We know this because this happens everywhere in history. 😉
The center of the country is the optimum territory on the planet because it contains the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys for transport and trade. And the plains can feed the world.
The coasts will pay the cost of the collapse of world trade as the USA ends its policing of the world patterns of transport and trade, and Countries turn again autarkic and poor, and empires re-emerge to defend trade routes with colonies as is the constant throughout history.
Blue cities are cosmopolitan and cosmopolitanism depends on trade. And trade is going to return to 19th-century organization and costs.
And without automation people are going to get poorer, and many will starve.
And that’s because the credentialed left thinks they are wiser than the demonstrated competency of the right in military and industry.

I worked on this issue briefly in 2008, with ‘The Market for Affection’. But, I moved on to law. So on human time scales the crash happened. And now the search reorganization is starting and will or won’t recover that market. IMO the market will divide like the polity.

all these zombie films reflecting our anxiety over the alienation, population density, and immigration of the age, where for some reason people don’t dress up in motorcycle leather, helmets, and have keggers while they hunt zombies by the thousands, millions, billions. 😉

    And the problem is?
As usual, we will rearm, reorganize, and restore a balance of power.
As usual, reformation of societies, economies, and political systems, occurs primarily after wars.
We are all ‘betting’ on the rationality and self-interest of chain of people people who can press the buttons.
Why? All nuclear buttons are suicide switches.

Are you saying the Nazis (National Socialists) were worse than the Russians (Communists?) That’s false on every single measure. The Russians were far worse than the Nazis. The communists were far worse than the fascists. And the communists are second only Islam in murder. And aside from concentration camps, it’s pretty hard to argue that the Germans were ‘in the right’ in both wars. They were retaliating against France for napoleon’s destruction of the HRE, and defending their interests and investments in eastern Europe against the Russian communists. Fascism was just the natural counter-revolution against communism. The fact that it included the camps overshadows the broader context of the world wars: the battle between anglo liberalism, french socialism, germanic fascism, and Russian&Chinese communism.

This is my understanding as well. Because if we return to pre-1900 patterns of trade, a lot of the world who was elevated out of poverty will rapidly return to it as the complex system of world trade returns to a competition of imperial monopolies.

MARTIN STEPAN ON EVASION OF THE CAUSE OF POMO AND WOKE

–“Intellectuals such as Lindsay and Hicks trace postmodernism and wokeness through ideological lineages. And while that’s useful, it diverts readers from the primary causes.

The form of cognition and resulting biases, desires, and culture in a given group leads individuals to fish for justifications wherever they can find them and it just so happens that the ambiguity of German philosophy and false promises of French philosophy was useful to them.

However, the group using those philosophies in innovative ways is neither German nor French – and if they hadn’t found justifications there, they’d find them elsewhere or make up their own.

And so while it’s useful to understand the problems with those philosophies, you’re not going to argue anyone out of their intuition.

The only solution is to start harshly punishing the use of the whole category of argumentation justifying parasitism.”–

    … Continued:

    YOU PAY NOW OR LATER
The strategy of NATO is to bleed Russia in a proxy war through Ukraine. This is working though there is no end in sight. Because Russia never gives up a battle before losing half a million men (even if it has only 8M of age to draw from), and because Putin will be killed if he steps down. So, RU is “betting it all” restoration of the Russian empire. And his escalation path was obvious the moment we recognized he was reserving costly air power.

Now, we can appease the Russians (French, Iranians, Chinese et al,) or we can pay cheaply now or expensively later.

The reality is that until RU has a change of government and a change of strategy that encourages it to adopt rule of law and federalism ‘with Russian characteristics’, we cannot integrate them into european civilization, and must eventually fight a very scary war. (we must recognize that RU must maintain imperial status over its territories for the same reason the USA needed to reach the west coast: to create strategic safety.)

So just as RU is playing for time, we are playing for time, both of us in the hope that the other side tires. This is the safest game.

That said, I suspect that I am correct that RU will use air to shut off supply routes into UA, threaten tactical nuclear weapons against the UK, Nordics, or Baltics, and then continue its traditional strategy of just leveling anything in front of them.

Meanwhile, the USA is not increasing the production of military ammunition (bullets, RPGs, Manpads, Missiles, Bombs) necessary to either conduct a war of self-defense, or to supply the already promised and paid-for weapons due to our allies for their defense.

    -FIN-
