It wasn’t official. It was standard behavior in Ukrainian prison. You have to be a pretty arrogant fool to do anything that would get you into a prison system outside the west.

There is no record of him being tortured. But torture is common in the prison system. Even without torture rhey are in general ‘rough’ with peoople in custody. On the other hand I’m almost certain that as a traitor among an angry ukrainian prisoner population, that neither the guards or the fellow prisoners were interested in keeping him alive and most likely beat him to extort money from him, which is the only use they find in foreign prisoners.

One prison near Kharkiv is a detention center for women. The Oleksiyivska Correctional Colony No. 25 is a medium security prison. And the City Detention Center (Міський слідчий ізолятор) is for holding individuals in custody. So I don’t know where he was held, but I’d assume CDC. But, given that he tried to cross the border in the southwest he might have been held elsewhere and my knowledge of that region is limited to relationships with the ‘mayors’ of some of the cities in the region.

He violated a serious crime in the state, he was not a visitor, nor a reporter, but lived in the country, with a family, and residency papers. If they let him go then they send a signal they will let others foreigners go, or that other domestics can get away with it.
The law has three missions: reparations or punishment, prevention of repetition, and prevention of others from doing the same. They are following standard legal procedure.
However, after they let him go after the first detention, he persisted in his behavior. So they arrested him and held him in prison, and then again, t his time after a much longer detention, they let him go with just an ankle monitor. Again, he tried to flee justice.
In effect he did everything possible one should not do, which is flagrantly disgregard the state of war, the law, and especially disregarding the law in a time of crisis giving ‘comfort to the enemy’.
So you know, he has had a pattern of arrogance and selfishness, that did not end with screwing his kid’s nanny, and running away from his family with her to ukraine. Or the financial games he played in. Or the games he played in hollywood. Or the nonsense he propagandized to young nitwits. If you’re a bad person and full of yourself eventually the world will catch up with you and it did.
There is no injustice here. Just an arrogant idiot that should have taken his wife back to the states and done his criticism from there, or behaved within the law there.
Do I wish he’d made it across the bordere? Of course I do. Do i wish he hadn’t died? Of course I do. That’s different from saying there is injustice here. There isn’t. If you are dim enough to repeatedly break the law, and do so with such diregard for the law, despite being given multiple chances, such that you end up in a BRUTAL prison system, among prisoners that want you dead as a traitor, and guards that feel the same, what kind of arrogant idiot are you? How full of yourself do you need to be? And you admire this guy?

Funny. Young male nitwits calling me ‘spineless’ because, while surrounded by armed men ready and willing, and them by army of police and armored cars ready to act against them, I used humor and wisdom to prevent a catastrophe that would presage the retaliation on Jan6th – when in fact any doctor will easily explain that I have an unhealthy insensitivity to pain and any psychologist an even more unhealthy lack of fear. 😉

I have spent too little time with the peasantry and while I feel noblesse oblige to protect and defend them – even from themselves, that doesn’t mean they are more than children in abilty disposition and agency. And while it is rather easy to use maternal manipulation to organize the infantilize left, it’s nearly impossible to use masculine reason to mobilize the adolescent right.

I would prefer to live my life in business and intellectual labors without garnering an public attention. I don’t desire it, I don’t like it, and I’m unfit for it. That said, we must all do our moral duty when moral duty calls. And for all my failings that duty and loyalty to my people I will not surrender even if it takes my life.

Nor should any man who claims he is moral.

It wasn’t spineless. I wasn’t afraid I was enjoying the entire time. I was armed and surrounded by armed men.

I knew what I was doing. I didn’t take the bait. It was the demonstration of how to disempower the left, because they always and everywhere have but one tactic, which y’all always fall for: baiting into hazard so that the state can act on their behalf. Yet you fall for this every, single, time.

I just didn’t expect y’all wouldn’t understand. We held a rally with no negative consequences. It was y’all who undermined us – not the enemy.

As such, as always, because you always take the bait, you never learned from Ghandi, you keep failing.

This is why we gave up on you. We gave up on converting the lost boys into political movement. Because you cannot self regulate your impuse to take the bait and resort to posturing and force that the enemy can use the state to crush you.

Our feelings and our instincts are not helpful when they are the tool that the enemy uses to bait you into the state’s tiger trap.

The truth is the left isn’ worong that they suffer. They are wrong in what to do about it. The right isn’t wrong that they suffer. They are also wrong in what to do about it.

We demonstrated how to win against the enemy only to find out that our own were the enemy.

You cannot win until you understand your feelings and your instincts are the enemy of our goals, beause they are what the enemy uses to manipulate you into failure.

The enemy is cognitively and emotionally female. They bait you into hazards.

Meanwhile my organization and I keep working with the people that are quiet and matter, and not the people who are noisy and don’t.

    Cheers
