Oct 12, 2019, 5:20 PM The original purpose of unions was to protect the underclasses. The communists worked thru the labor unions. They used unions to drive class warfare. Unions were the largest contributors to the democratic party. Unions drove the democratic party into socialism and communism under marxism like identity politics under postmodernism. The remaining purpose of unions is to attempt to provide labor with above-middle class earnings not sustainable in the world economy. Unions are what drove business offshore (I was involved in that discussion back then). Trump is trying to drive business back on shore. Taxes WERE the the primary reason preventing re-shoring. Trump fixed that. Now unions are the primary reason preventing re-shoring manufacturing. The market and political problem with unions is collective bargaining law, not unions themselves (safety, work distribution). The primary problem with unions today is pensions which cannot ever be paid (and won’t be), not wages. Mandatory fees are the primary complaint by people opposed to the left. Unions are not resisting immigration, which is what is keeping wage down. Unions were advantageous during the brief postwar period where it allowed labor to capture a grater share of windfall profits – that no longer exist. Unions were necessary at least in the private sector to cause legal change in health, safety, and work load, but it was insurance companies and liability law that provided that change not unions. It is not clear what value they serve today in the private sector other than to limit competition for labor and raise wages and possibly lengthen careers preventing constant turnover by age discrimination. The general argument has been for years that any valuable function provided by unions (pensions) must eventually be provided by the state or it will disappear. The only reason collective bargaining still exists is that it’s politically impossible to get it past the government union competition, not the private sector. So unions are responsible for the overpayment of government costs, salaries, benefits, and pensions despite the unproductively of government, and preventing customer service, and preventing and rotation of government workers not providing government service. There is a reason the region around Washington is wealthy.

Yes I Advocate Collective (group) Punishment.
Oct 13, 2019, 11:33 AM it’s how we end the game against us. If you gain value from an identity from a membership, then you must insure the rest of us from the consequences of the organization you fund by your membership. Families insure individuals, individuals insure groups, and no one is free of insuring others.

Disambiguation of Judicial Judgements
Oct 17, 2019, 1:15 PM I have done a little work on disambiguating the charge misdemeanor vs felony (meaningless), but not enough on judgement restitution, personal punishment (prevention), and political punishment(prevention). These subjects are important because the current structure appears illogical to the public, because some crimes are preventable by political punishments (things that are planned) and some crimes are not preventable by political punishments (animal impulse), and some while seemingly more serious, are less likely to be repeated (impulses), while others more likely to be repeated (planned).

Prohibiting Demand for The Via-Positiva State
Oct 18, 2019, 11:01 AM
The failure of the law of tort to keep pace with inventions in parasitism and predation, generates demand for the state to via-positiva impose rules of conduct instead of the law’s via-negativa prohibitions on conduct. This is why jewish-libertarian civs are impossible, and only anglo-rule-of-law civs produce liberty and freedom without via positiva imposition of rule by the state.

Witch Trials. Why?
Oct 24, 2019, 9:41 AM AFAIK the increase in witch trials was an extension of the inquisition, then the reformation, as a means of creating examples by suppressing newly enabled social dissent under the decline of the influence of the church and the personalization of the religious experience by disintermediation from the priesthood. There isn’t really a consensus on it, but my rough understanding is that as wealth increased and local agency increased we saw the the protestant reformation put more control in the local hands at all levels – including religious. About 80% of prosecutions were of women, and most in central europe (germanic) countries. And women were uneducated and … uneducated women (as we see in daily videos) .. and as evidenced by asylum populations (mostly women), and current mental health statistics, were as disruptive in the past with psychosis as they are today – just like males -although we control males aggressively and we don’t control anti-social behavior in females. In other words I interpret it as a puritan reaction to the transfer of power of catholic inquisition to protestant hands, and the ‘fashion’ of exercising that power, until it was rather obvious that it was out of hand, and (a) judges would no longer accept testimony obtained under torture, (b) it was increasingly outlawed.

Anarchy Is Not Internally Consistent or Productive
Dec 2, 2019, 4:34 PM (Again: Libertine, Anarchist, Libertarian Thought Fails) By: Alain Dwight (via Brandon Hayes) Rules without rulers is impossible. Asserting an active noun or verb (rule) without an actor putting it in play (rulers) is a form of deception. For a sentence to be operationally complete it has to include the actor, the incentive they follow, the change in state and a few other points (P epistemology is the first place I saw this standard detailed). Human flourishing was never created by anarchists, anarchists were always subversive as far as I know, countersignalling our ancestors that created flourishing through rule of law. Between sovereign entities, there can be no authority but reciprocity can be calculated hence rule of law measured by reciprocity is the only actual alternative to authority. Anarchism can be an appealing narrative when seeing the abuse of power but in part, it I think it appeals more ot the juvenile part of us that desires freedom than the part that desires the discipline required to create freedom. If you operationalize the narrative then Propertarianism is what you’re left with. I don’t want to rebel against power I want to have power and to have other good men have power. When good men fall into the vice of not seeking power then it calls into question how good they really are. Edit
