This spectrum describes the beast(child), to the human(Adult) to the post-human(Wisened). So, while I understand fire gazing, day dreaming, pondering, listening to the oral story (myth), story, novel, fantasy novel, I no longer enjoy the conflation of the fantasy novel with the pretense that such things exist, or that the dependence upon such things has literally served as a drug to manufacture inaction, incomprehension, denial of reality, and worst, the destruction of the ancient civilizations by that drug, and the dark agrees of suffering that followed. So while we can produce highs from exercise, from socialization, from study, and from success, we can also produce highs from the disciplined training of our minds and bodies to produce altered states that no other creature can produce. And further we can do so by chemical means, and now advanced chemical means, and more recently, direct neural stimulation (video games). So, many things ‘feel good’ but the fact that they feel good physically, emotionally, or intellectually does not tell us whether or not that they are personally suicidal, interpersoanly, socially, politically, civilizationally or dysgenically. Every drug user of every kind justifies his addiction and attempts to do so only confirm that addiction. Some humans require those drugs because they cannot obtain them by the means evolution provided us, or they are too lazy to do so: working with others to achieve existential transcendence rather than the illusory or experiential, that in fact harm the individual, lose his potential, denigrate his lineage, his people, and mankind. It’s not that I don’t understand you see. It’s that I understand all too well, that we seek means of avoiding action by which we transform the universe into a garden for man. Some of us transcend ourselves, our people, our civilization, and man into gods. Most of us resist it kicking and screaming all the while, physically, emotionally, intellectually.
Men do not debate with women. Women are incapable of reason, and therefore incapable of argument – and limited to animal responses of disapproval, shaming, ridicule, gossip, and rallying, as you have demonstrated. Men are too lenient. Spare the rod and spoil the child. 😉

(The same is true for women in general, simply because they evolve ‘fit’ in to social orders faster, more frequently, and with fewer failures, and males specialize and continue specialization and therefore change orders more slowly w/ more failures.)

As a contrary point of reference:
I write entirely for free, and it is one of the principle reasons why I can write honestly and truthfully and without reservation on very controversial subjects: I have no malincentives to avoid.
As far as I can tell, within a generation, the creative commons license will replace copyright, and in the interim the possibility of profiting from writing other than by winning the lottery of a script, will continue to decline. (And that market is rapidly declining).
Even today, the primary output of paid work consists of little more than gossip within some tiny market for signal-information.
In other words, as each of us travels along our journey, we seek gossip from others passing through the same frame as a means of confirming the virtue of our choices.
The human world is very simple.
The consequence of free information easily published and easily found, is the rapid falsification of the multitude of narratives, and we are not very far from collectively understanding that there exist as few as a thousand ideas and all of them are comprehensible.
The only issue the mirror.
We don’t always like the reflection.

You can, and we will, as the physical and cognitive sciences progress, understand more about how and why we behave as we do.
However, you will find nothing that improves on testimonialism and propertarianism in matters of decidability.
Just as you will find that once we have passed the current state of mathematics (geometries, symmetries and consequential operations), we have completed a cycle of the possible hierarchy and merely repeat the same process again.
Human existence can be completely decided by acquisitionism, testimonialism, and propertarianism.
And artificial intelligence will demonstrate it.
