Because ‘LLM’ AI doesn’t ‘understand’ anything in the sense you and I do, because it lacks embodiment (System of Measurement), World Modeling, Episode molding, Goal Pursuit (wayfinding), causal relations (Possibility), social relations (ownership, ethics, morality), valuation (‘values’), and consciousness (self regulation of goals, searching, wayfinding, possibility testing, moral testing) recursive criticism,(consideration), and decision making.
What LLMS are doing is trying to infer all the above through analysis of language – which SHOULD be possible.
