You know, you shouldn’t feel any worse about aspie traits than the deaf or colorblind do.

What you should do is not blame others for intolerance of your outlier behavior and attempt to control it.

The desperate desire for attention and expression cannot be satisfied because it is alienating.

The best solution is to put that energy into something else and to find joy in others purely by listening and asking questions about them and their experiences not ideas.

INTELLECTUALS ARE WRONG MORE THAN THE COMMON MAN FOR A REASON

When we combine anchoring, with intellectual investment, with the status benefits, and with the high cost of changing frames, it’s not rational to expect intellectuals to act otherwise.

What we find is this: intellectuals who specialize in very narrow domains and are current with the data tend to be very good. Whenever intellectuals try to work on generalizations it at least appears that we do better asking people on the street.

this is why economists supposedly disagree: most economic knowledge of any discreet topic is almost always counter-intuitive. So if you ask a thousand economists a question you will get terrible results, but if you as the top 12 in any niche you will get awesome results.

Q&A: WHY DOES ATTRACTION WEAR OFF AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF MONOGAMY

It’s pretty simple. We get natural ‘heroin’ when we are attracted to a woman. we get more when she pays attention to us. and we get a lot more of it when we have sex with her. we get accustomed to it and agitated by its loss. And then we develop a tolerance for it.

The same is true for negative experiences. It takes about three to five years to ‘unlearn’ a trauma. It takes the same to unlearn a ‘dose of pleasure’.

I am not sure why this is hard to understand.

Even if you really like someone, without all sorts of incentives to carry you from year 7-20 (at which point everyone stays together – if for no other reason than transaction costs, and marketability) then it just ‘wears off’ and you want another ‘fix’ of heroin.

A lot of the cultural difference here is that he women aren’t infantilized, and so by the time they’re 21 they’re adults.

American culture (at the behest of the left) has infantalized our generations to the point where the milennial’s will not reach adulthood until their late thirties or early forties.

Most of this was accomplished by the postwar boom’s economic expansion, in a period of luxury for the usa, where we had no competition, and we moved our lower classes in to a position where they had middle class jobs, middle class consumer power, voting rights, could pay university tuitions and act as useful idiots for the leftists – all wthout adopting the ‘conservative values’ which are in fact the western aristocratic values adopted by each emergent member of the middle class: “you are not a liability”.

And how do we know you are not a liability?

    – you can earn enough to pay for a home

    – you can afford a spouse and offspring.

    – you can participate in civic society’s norms.

    – you can uphold the law. not just obey but uphold it.

    – you can serve in the militia (and for women, hospitaliers)

(diary entry): (I always try to leave the room rather than lose my temper with others. I do not like to argue. I don’t find arguing produces much good. And I know from experience that letting my rather painfully articulate verbal weaponry loose can have long-term deleterious effects upon people and relationships. So it is better to leave. Meanwhile I get into relationships with women who have no freaking clue, and tell me to stay and fight with them – not knowing what they’re asking. And worse you know, my father was a violent person, whose life I planned ending and came a hair’s breadth from on a half dozen occasions -and I have worked very hard to bury that part of me so far down that it cannot ever get out again. So I find it is much better to exorcize anger in writing, or walking, or sleeping than it is to exorcize it verbally, of physically. And I am not terribly interested in the opinions of well-intentioned fools who think otherwise. ergo. I now feel a little better. )
