(FB 1543425047 Timestamp) MORE ON DE-PROPAGANDIZING “CAPITALISM” (required reading)
- Trade has always existed (generating exchange)
Markets have almost always existed (generating prices).
Capitalists have existed as long as there have been markets (generating means of production).
Northern Europeans (Venetians less so. Saxons largely, the Hansa in particular, the English systematically, the Dutch first at political scale), developed rule of law – which is why they escaped the church with the reformation.)
Capitalism consists of rule of law consisting nearly entirely of markets, and socialism of rule of men eliminating or vastly reducing markets – but all polities have some mixed economy and must do so. The problem is that the state is superior at investing in some commons, but the private sector is far better at allocating and maximizing the returns on capital.
So capitalism and socialism only evolved once the industrial revolution came into play – and the socialists demanded control over production. Capitalism then was the name they used for ‘market bias under rule of law’ , and socialism ‘state bias under rule of men’.
So any statement about when was capitalism invented, is rater ‘stupid’ really. The answer is very simple: capitalism was the ‘jewish’ view of markets, and socialism the ‘jewish’ view of the state. And suckers bought into this false dichotomy. The question is and always will be the utilities of the state monopoly vs the private sector market. And as it stands, the lesson is quite clear: when it is simple and you know how to do it, but it’s risky and expensive, the state can provide startup capital and market protections. Once that investment is running, it can be ‘sold’ to the private sector who can then maximize its potential. The USA has mastered the art of moving this high risk investment into the private sector, but this has had the effect of hollowing out predictable sectors of the economy. So it appears that once again, there are those things it is better for the state to produce (labor-consuming and strategic companies, that are less speculative and produce slower longer returns), and things that it is better for the private sector to produce (IQ consuming and highly speculative things with shorter higher returns.) CONVERSELY The flood river and irrigation valleys of the fertile, crescent, pakistan-india, and china, could produce state-capital easily, just as the west could produce private-capital easily. The west and east homogenous peoples higher trust. The center tribal heterogenous people lower trust. It’s not complicated. You do what you can with the people and geography you have.

(FB 1543521336 Timestamp) THE FRAGILITY OF CURRENT STOIC RESTORATION MOVEMENT —“Curt, it looks like the Daily Stoic has taken a Left Turn. Can you take a look?”— One of my followers has complained about what she perceived as a ‘turn to the left’ by the Daily Stoic. She asked if I would investigate, since I am advocating the restoration of stoicism as required education – a restoration of our ancient personal religion so to speak. My followers are unlikely to need training in stoicism in large part because they already practice the habits under indirect guise. Their interest and mine is political, economic, and evolutionary. The cognitive discipline (habits) Stoicism provides, produces superior polities. Those polities are superior because they are less dependent upon falsehoods to govern. So the direction of the Stoic Restoration has more than trivial importance to me, and to them. But what troubles me when I survey your (collective) approach, which is the imbalance between defensive self help and detachment – the trap fallen into by the Buddhists – and disciplined self-authoring in the excellences (‘virtues’), and in achieving one’s life’s goals (change). In other words, without the COMPETITION between rational distance from your emotions, and pursuit of achievements in life, all one does is recreate abrahamic and buddhist detachment from reality. This produces no excellences, only defenses – submission to circumstance. Western civilization was unique in that we developed Heroism, Individual Sovereignty, Truth and Duty, The Natural Law (of tort), and Markets in all aspects of personal, academic, intellectual, commercial, civic, and political life – avoiding theocratic or bureaucratic monopoly. It was this set of traits that allowed us to develop all the paradigms (disciplines) all of which were united only by those few criteria above. This meant that law > jury > reason > empiricism > science > technology > medicine could evolve … … and with them we could – in the ancient and modern if not medieval worlds – drag mankind kicking and screaming out of ignorance, superstition, hard labor, poverty, starvation, disease, child mortality, early death, tyranny, and the victimization by uncaring nature. The means by which we achieved all of this was competition (markets). And the means by which the stoic virtues can be achieved without causing the same catastrophe that reverses the western achievement, is by both increased independence from our animal intuitions, and … … application of that mind, emotions, and body, freed of those limits, to achieve the heroic at whatever scale of heroism the individual is able – no matter how large or small. To make the most of the one life we have available to us, in a manner must desirable to us. Leaving this competition between unsaid, is to leave stoicism incomplete. And to fall into the errors we have seen in prior eras, which slowly cause a people to descend into what is emotionally comforting but in demonstration of consequence indifferent from nihilism. (FB 1543516384 Timestamp) —“Aren’t the Meds the founders of western civ?”—Dominic Leyva Well, it’s the Yamna east, and corded ware west that founded western civilization’s uniqueness. It’s the greeks and romans that produced it’s scale. Whether the greeks were european is still in dispute. Itals (romans) are danubian (germanic). we still don’t know if the greek aristocracy was european, old european, or anatolian. (north south, or east west). There aren’t enough bodies for DNA yet, and the bodies we do have are all from outside the aristocratic classes. We need a few tombs or burians with DNA. The greeks, like the hittites appear to be european in social organization, language, and religions. Whether they were blue eyed and fair hair or brown eyed and black haired is only discernible from the literature, not from DNA yet. I suspect that the hellenes were europeans that invaded causing the bronze age collapse, or invaded to take advantage of the bronze age collapse.

(FB 1543515495 Timestamp) by Bill Joslin “The commons” was initially used (or at least at the time of corporatism in Germany) to mean the people. We are a product of the commons and a part of the commons – the primary part – the core.
