Addiction responses to pleasure sources, particularly escapist pleasure sources are indifferent between humans. That which tastes, touches, sounds, appears, intuits to be preferable, good, useful, even wonderful, has little or no correlation to what is, especially cumulatively, good. It is not like our evolution has kept pace with our experiential innovation.
REST VS ESCAPE
Our neural economy is expensive. Managing our neural, emotional, and physical budgets is work. Hence why we – most of us – seek means of finding safety in or near, the pack or herd. Worse, those of us who spend greater effort suppression our impulses, and those who expend greater effort while resulting in continuous failure or at least stagnation, seek those comforts mentally, emotionally, physically, and economically and politically.
The civil society gives us rest.
The undiscovered valley (nature) gives us some escape and rest.
The alternatives give us not rest but escape.
And some alternatives give us no rest, but escape at the cost of harm to ourselves.
And some at the cost to ourselves and others.
ESCAPE TO IMAGINARY WORLDS
While it is true that many we can forecast many world, and assist each other in the forecasting of many worlds, and that, from these many worlds we can obtain ideation, and we can obtain the psychic rewards from investment in those many worlds, and that we can interpret the present in the context of those many worlds, the fact remains that we can do so with every possible grammar available to us. We can do so by planning a future. we can do so by daydreaming. We can so by conversing with others. By all sorts of play and entertainment. We can do so by reading. We can do this by ritual inducing. We can do it by social inducing – particularly in large groups. We can do so by drug inducing.
THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE GOOD – BUT THE BAD
The question is not how we produce these alternate worlds and obtain the results – looking only at the good of the phenomenon. But how can we prevent the production, and distribution, of those fantasies in those imaginary worlds that affect the present and future.
The evidence is what it is. And Study of comparative means of obtaining mindfulness simply results in the understanding that religion as we understand it – not as it was originally founded, or not as we can undrestand it today – is one of the worst things to every happen to mankind – in fact, judaism, islam, and christianity are second only to the great plagues. And even that it requires us to compare with our ancient enemy malaria to compete with those three religions.
There have been at least three dark ages. THe stone age, the bronze age, the iron age. And it looks very much like we have spent a century falling into the dark age of the steel age.
FOOLED US ONCE. FOOLING US TWICE.
We are at a precipice for our people and our religion is part of the problem, and our church has abandoned us to the third world, and our governments have done exactly as did the byzantines and romans.
They are dragging us into the only hell there is: genetic death.

I don’t have a lot good to say about my father but he was smart, worked very hard, and would never lie ever. (He’d come very close to killing you for even suggesting it.)
I used to go to town council meetings and learn how ‘government was done’. Stupid shit like ‘this sidewalk is expensive’. Ordinary stuff.
The newspaper would regularly twist his words out of context in order to imply the direct opposite of what he said.
I have vivid memories of lying on the carpet in the living room reading the newspaper saying “I was there. That is not what happened.” And my father saying “news is a best nothing but fictional entertainment, and at worst nothing but lies. Never believe a word they say”.
So I get into college and it’s a saturday and I’m wearing faded jeans with holes in them, and a faded blue chamois shirt, and white sneakers, and walking around campus because I did too much writing already and need a break. It’s a rainy day. i walk into the student union, and someone has sponsored this absurd pinball machine where the ball is the size of a softball. So I walk up to this thing and put a quarter in it and try it.
Out of nowhere the local news crew comes up and asks if they can film me. I am not and never have been someone who likes public attention, but I said yes. The women then proceeded to start a dozen takes trying to get me to say that I had nothing better to do than play pinball in university. And so I finally said – I’m not going to make a fool of myself. I told you already, that I’m taking a walk because I’ve done too much work already, and this is just something interesting because it’s new.” They aired some choppy thing without me responding that she suggested the same nonsense.
I was walking down the street in west hartford just after I had purchased a local business. Some reporter stopped me for one of those 60 second sets of questions. They tried multiple times to force me to say other than what I’d said: that the problem was that hartford had imported too many black families and that the north end in particular was a no-go zone even for the FBI. (This was common knowledge). They did not air my statement.
I give press releases all the time. Between the inflation by the marketers, the PR firm, and the press you’d think I claimed I went to Harvard and invented the light bulb.
I stopped giving interviews to the press because you simply can’t trust them to get anything right that doesn’t fit their institutional narrative.
Every journalist is a professional gossip and nothing more. The same is true for every social scientists, and everyone in the non-stem academy.
And you wonder why I want to legislate TRUTH? That’s why.

No, Jordan, you’re just comfortable tolerating White Lies [1]. You are comfortable with white lies because white lies are how we provide solace to those who are suffering when we cannot ,or cannot afford to, or will not, take the actions necessary to end that suffering.
Your work as a therapist could involve cognitive behavioral therapy. It does involve suggestion by the use of narration, thereby circumventing the trauma, analysis, and self criticism all of us make use of.
But then you take this means of suggestion from the realm of interpersonal circumvention of trauma so that we might offer education by suggestion, and attempt to scale it to education.
And this is where your white lies become ordinary lies, which you justify (obscure) with the lie of conflating the truth with the good and the preferable. There is no such thing as ‘darwinian truth’. There is only utility that satisfies a personal good, or a personal preference. We can weave a set of these utilities, like a story, into a justificationary network, that provides us with defense against our fears and insecurities – rather than training us out of fear and insecurity. But these are just another network of white lies.
Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism are constructed of little other than these comforting white lies. Stoicism in the form of ritual self authoring(mindfulness) and ritual ancestor worship(Thanks), ritual community worship(thanks), and ritual nature worship(thanks) do nothing other than perform cognitive behavioral therapy that gives us confidence to act in a kaleidic universe the causal density of which is beyond our comprehension.
So, Even today you maintain your market position with white lies. And you selectively argue with (a) scientific results, (b) clinical example, (c) historical example, and lastly (d) parables constructed of those white lies.
And while in therapy, absent chemical assistance necessary to provide distance between cognition and trauma, fear, and insecurity, white lies allow us to operate by suggestion. Such lies do not scale.
There are 1B dead between old world abrahamism( judaism, christianity, islam), and new world abrahamism (marxism, postmodernism, and feminism) and a thousand year dark age some of us are still trying to drag our civilization out of.
And abrahamism consists of what appear to be white lies: False promise of the impossible, and destructive if successful, straw man criticism of the opposition, a vast network of lies in supernatural (religious), pseudoscientific (feminism, marxism, freudianism, boasianism, cantoriansim, messianism, keynesianism and mathematical platonism), sophist (postmodernism) prose, defended not by rational, operational, and scientific argument, but where argument is avoided by disapproval, shaming, ridicule, rallying, gossip, undermining, and reputation destruction on the personal, social, political, and intellectual scales.
So no. There is no ‘excuse’ (justification) for white lies outside of catastrophic loss, therapy, injury, sick bed, and death bed. There is only one truthful definition of truth: that which is decidable independent of individual comprehension, preference, or collective good.
And worse, it is through the scale of white lies that we have endured and still endure, a dark age of ignorance, and the billion lives loss to the conflicts created by defense of lies and offence with lies.
NO MORE LIES.

We all get our red pills from different sources. Mine was running businesses, watching the press lie about what my father said in town council, encountering the immorality of the legal system, and the one sidedness and immorality of divorce.
I don’t care whether you get it from the manosphere(personal), the alt-light(social), alt-right (political), propertarianism(institutional or intellectual?), nasdap(military) sphere. We all understand the world in the power-language that we are most familiar with, and can best empathize with, and are most motivated by.
What matters is that we have an OPERATIONALLY POSSIBLE solution for the survival of our genetic lines, our people, our culture, our civilization, and our ability to drag mankind out of ignorance, superstition, poverty, into the gods we imaged – the universe is ours for the taking.
The only thing I focus on is the solution. I’m happy if everyone else focuses on REACH.

So yes. It is f–cking common sense. The difference is that I defend that common sense both logically and scientifically, because what is ‘common sense’ to you ‘is not common’.
I made a Law of what you consider ‘common sense’. It is that law, the constitution that embodies it, and the logic and science in defense of it, that make it open to utility in persuasion, resistance to falsification, and institutional implementation, rather than simply a difference of moral bias and condition.
I wrote our law. No one ever did that before. We just ‘do it’. For thousands of years.
Individual Sovereignty, Truth, Duty (and charity), The Natural law of Reciprocity (Tort), the Sovereignty Judge and the Jury, and markets in everything that result. The Militia of a distributed dictatorship of sovereign men.
