The guys are kicking it. Kirill seems not to like it when I issue these because he thinks I’m signing him up for more, but the real reason I’m doing this is so that people who care know what’s going on now that we’re very close to finished. So anything I say here is my fault and he and the team are innocent. 🙂

    Left on the table:

I don’t know about this first one. (I am trying not to bother them on the weekend) I’m not sure if the ‘sprint accounting’ is done or working or not. That means, that once you start a deliverable or project we track additions and subtractions and changes to tasks and estimates. This allows us to produce an accurate burndown chart and metrics.

Now Oversing treats every week as an operational sprint that you forecast and measure the results of. (I won’t go into why right now.) The Forecast system isn’t quite complete because of the workflow control in the UI or the tracking of additions and removals like the sprints (i am not sure about the workflow yet). They haven’t been able to get to it. This operational tempo is the key to using Oversing to manage your business, while at the same time training your people to plan and review what they accomplished.

The same problem with controlling the accounting period (I cut the time period management function for v1, but we’ll put it all on one ‘dashboard’ in a later version.

Progress bars aren’t updating on the schedule panel.

The main reports. I’ve been overestimating the number that we need and it’s really closer to a dozen at most.

The one “ouch” that I know is going to have to delay for a bit; showing all the appointments (reservations) on the gantt chart so that the pm can tell what is scheduled and what not.

Also some UI nits on the Responsibilities (Inbox) Panel.

The rest of the issues are usability related nits but will not prevent us from getting users working with the product.

Gotta thank our guys they are doing amazing things during the holidays under duress.

Western Man’s God = Anthropomorphized Natural Law

At least that’s what it was. We have been pagans since the enlightenment it seems. Despite our sojourn into babylonian mysticism.

    DRAW BLOOD NOT WEBSITES

I think that any form of Anarchism is a romantic notion for daydreaming about – but that people hold revolutions for a reason and that we need a revolution.

And that the only people who can earn or possess liberty are those that will use revolution to displace a predatory state with one that protects their rights.

There has not be a revolution in America since the civil war, making America one of the oldest governments currently in existence.

It’s time to have a revolution. I’m happy if daydreamers want to daydream. But history says if you have pent up demand for revolt, then you can use it and change the world forever.

So that’s my position on daydreams.

    Draw blood not web sites.

A POLITY CANNOT SURVIVE COMPETITION WITHOUT COMMONS

Anarchic polities don’t exist for two reasons: (a) they cannot obtain or defend territory, and (b) they cannot create sufficient commons to attract investment (people).

How would an anarchic polity come to evolve and persist in competition with social democracy, state capitalist, or classical liberal governments?

Anarcho-capitalism was a productive research program, but a condition of anarchy is uncompetitive and cannot survive competition from either Nomocratic (classical liberal middle class), social democratic(representative and working class), or state capitalist(command and peasant class) methods of government.

I only work with what I can find a method to construct. Meaning, that an idea is meaningless unless I see an institutional means of constructing it. ergo: you can have rule of law, but not anarchism, because no polity without the ability to construct commons can survive competition.

So I don’t really deal with ‘anarchism’ so much as that I rely upon nomocracy as the institutional system with which to prevent parasitism in the construction of commons.

We can solve the problem of commons but we cannot create a polity without commons. In fact, that’s probably a logical contradiction, since a polity that can prevent occupation and conquest by any organized group must construct a commons to prevent it.

So in that sense, an anarchic polity incapable of constructing commons is a logical as well as existential impossibility.

So please give up on your fallacies. Either fight for liberty or acknowledge your servitude, but wishful thinking about anarchic polities is a modern variant on waiting for the resurrection and second coming.

    Listening to Americans.

    Pretentious magnanimity.

    Pretense of knowledge and wisdom.

Retail Sales behavior in all walks of life.

So utopian. Subconsciously fearful of the game.

But the only game they know how to play.

We buy things to provide confirmation we don’t get from others.

We buy things and look for service to pay for attention.

    The lonely people: Americans.

First Gen people have it best if they bring family with them.

Or they are enthralled by consumption.

Or they are relieved by the ease of doing everything.

Or they are so appreciative of the willingness and trust.

And that’s the problem you see. All that other negative stuff is the product of the last.

Different version of the french pretense at aristocracy.

    Same problem.

    Sometimes I’d rather be ignorant.

APPARENTLY IT’S HARD TO SEPARATE RATIONALISM FROM SCIENCE.

Rationalism provides a limited subset of tools with which we can conduct test(criticisms) and construct ideas (hypotheses) within the discipline of constructing Truthful Testimony (science).

I understand that imagining and exploring ideas via rationalism is desirable because it requires less knowledge than full criticism sufficient for testimony.

But rationalism (internal consistency) provides only a child( subset) of truth telling (science) not the parent(determinant) of it.

GATHERING, STUDYING, RESEARCHING, “FILLING THE SHELVES OF THE MIND”

Collecting general knowledge about a subject so that you have conceptual resources with which to experiment.

OBSERVATION: Just what it says. You observe and remember (record) something with sufficient instrumentation that you can compare it to future observations.

FACT: An observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes is accepted as “true.” Truth however, is never final and what is accepted as a fact today may be modified or even discarded tomorrow. In other words an observation that has survived all known criticism.

FREE ASSOCIATION: Imagining through free association by any means possible from the most rigorous use of mathematics through daydreaming, using the conceptual resources available to you to experiment with.

HYPOTHESIS : A tentative statement about the natural world leading to deductions that can be tested. Hypotheses can be used to build more complex inferences and explanations. In other words: informed guesses.

THEORY: A well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences, and tested hypotheses. In other words, an hypothesis that has survived scrutiny.

LAW : A descriptive generalization about how some aspect of the natural world behaves under stated circumstances. In other words a theory that has survived all known criticism.

I hate when i accidentally post a diary entry on someone else’s page ’cause all pages look the same… sigh. (sorry)

(Traveling two years ago, lifting luggage from the baggage area when tired, I pulled a muscle in the palm of my left hand and it was bad enough that I got some scarring from it. I can’t figure out which muscle exactly. And thats possibly because I hurt more than one. And, yes, I know that given I had such strong hands, that it’s from lack of physical exercise using my hands. The problem is that the therapist’s way of fixing his problem is to keep breaking up the scarring, and it’s freaking painful and debilitating during the long process of injury and healing. Got a plantar fascia injury on my both feet while running in the park back around 2001 and I learned that ‘good men’s shoes’ are not so good. Nike Free or Sandals are probably the best shoe you can buy: as little shoe as possible. The most spread, the most circulation, and the most exercise your foot can get the better. now there isn’t any equivalent for the hand except working with your hands or working at the gym. But I’ve noticed that gyms are virus and bacteria hostels and so I’m back to having my own equipment and that requires your own domicile. So I need a domicile. smile emoticon )
