I wonder what it’s like for manic depressives. Must be very hard. Today I got some preservatives in my food again. (It was so good it was worth it). But I literally can’t do anything other than write because I literally can’t trust my emotions or intuitions. Imagine not even knowing you couldn’t trust your intuition at all. For me it’s a little like being stoned without the sensory delay. I feel very @floaty@

The problem began when india ‘came of age’ they sent the new class to french, german, and soviet universities for education, but lacked the Russian and Chinese military on the one end, and lacked the french and german cultural mores on the other. India is then, perhaps the country outside of south America that will suffer most severely for its association with socialism. Because between its lack of an ideological and committed military bureaucracy (Russia, china, turkey, iran, egypt, isreael), and between a still archaic culture (hindu irrational optimism and tolerance for disorder) it will be extremely problematic to ‘fix’ india without dividing it into smaller more manageable states. Or without an ideiolgical or religous group with militant intent, to eradicate corruptoin from what remains a familial if not tribal state.

—“Almost all human problems and solutions stem from three sources: Information, incentives, and genetics.

The three function across the time spectrum:

1 – Information being a short-term (thus all the noise on education).

2 – Incentives in the midterm (creating reasons to apply information and do good practice).

3 – Genetics, the removal or increase of undesirable/desireable traits.”—Rob De Geer

https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-define-a-civil-society-leader/answer/Curt-Doolittle?share=6b6962f1Civil Society means that commons are produced by voluntary actions of citizens rather than by the direction by and payment from government.

Civil societies require high trust. Only northern europeans developed high trust at scale. Ergo civil societies are rare, and the western governments since the war have destroyed most of it through government intervention in under a century.

To create a word power one requires ~500M people, nuclear weapons, and sufficient access to natural resources that one can sustain an autarkic economy during a period of long conflict.

Russia cannot be a world power. It isn’t. It’s a gas station with nuclear missiles, a lot of unemployed men, and a history of invading and conquering neighbors. The only reason russia exists is that the rest of the world didn’t shut her out of the financial and economic system out of fear she’d use her missiles.

Canada by contrast has something on the order of 75K total military personnel, which cannot even defend itself without the USA paying for it (just like europe).
