    I’m not sure I would describe myself as one of the brightest. Having said that, I still was able to grasp at every point how **Curt is using shock value as a vehicle for confrontation.***

    Of course, I came to the table with an appreciation for these sorts of tools. So rather than be reactionary I found myself aware of the context, discerned the utility in the tactic, and, not seeing need to emote, continued contemplating the content.

    Western adult males cannot be coddled and if the few feel entitled to naps and safe spaces, you can be assured no one here is going to accommodate that.

    Will we eventually drop the shock and awe tactic? Of course. But tthink of it in terms of a test of sincerity for the time being.

    You see, I did pass that test. I asked no one to lower standards in my behalf. But perhaps I am unduly advantaged. You see, I inherited my western ethos from my father, as he did his. I simply come from stock who are strong and willing to tough it out, prove themselves and fight their way through. This do or die persistence, selflessness, cannot help but always prevail to some gain, because it is evidence by action of a man’s fitness for the times, for this time or anytime.

    Can we say the same for those who await coddling and softness?

    What most people call a ‘philosophy’ is just a personal marketing statement of the criteria necessary for their voluntary cooperation: “here is my ideal social contract”.

    The problem is, that if their voluntary cooperation were desirable they would not need a philosophy as such.

    It’s called ‘Pilpul’. (Look it up) Like Numerology, Astrology, Scriptural Interpretation, Legal Interpretation, Marxism-Freudianism-Boazian Pseudoscience, and Postmodernisms, Meaning, the use of overloading to find excuses for any given status quo. Or we have another word for it: “The struggle to produce Fictionalisms”.

    As marx himself said, (I paraphrase) “If I am wrong, I can blame it on dialectic.” In other words, he was, like freud, boaz, and the entire frankfurt school, a fabricator (fictionalist). A desirable fiction. But a fiction none the less.

    Those lacking agency desire to create narrative falsehoods that give them the presumption of hope. It’s a mere psychological device. A form of mindfulness that humans have evolved in order to comfort themselves for having been born a failed experiment in evolution’s randomness.

    The number of people whose primary concern is the discovery of perfect decidability (meaning Truth), and perfect decidability in physical, personal, interpersonal, political, and inter-political matters is very small. What all but a few want is not truth but justification, technique, or opportunity. The value of decidability (truth) to that near complete majority is in denying the opposition arguments, and modifying their justifications so that they are less impossible. But we will never change the human desire to discover a justificationary philosophy that grants them internal license to free ride or steal, in one way or another. Because all we are doing is seeking a means of expressing our evolutionary strategies.
