—“WHAT WERE YOU LIKE AT 20?”—

When I was 20? I don’t know if I can answer truthfully I was in college, I had a hot girlfriend I was crazy about, had good friends, was doing ok art, had not much money but enough, and was otherwise pretty happy as far as I know. I had the same sensibilities. but like most aspies my mind was still forming and in retrospect that’s how I see that period. In my mind I was not very different from today. But that’s probably just my mind playing tricks on me.

I think 22 sucked after breaking up with my girlfriend, and it ruined my college experience also. So I threw myself into business and women and it worked out after a bit. But I had a bit of personal confusion in there for a bit.

I made a couple of mistakes. First was not transferring to philosophy, and second putting too much investment into my girlfriend. Third was I was just too tired all the time….. If I could do it over I would take out more loans and work follow my interest in argument and philosophy. The problem is wouldn’t have ended up where I have with all this amazing life experience having done so much amazing crazy stuff.

TRUTH: While I had the benefit of being more than a little good looking, and a lot of confidence, I had a very hard time as a high functioning aspie and I used girlfriends (devotedly) to build my social circle, and to some degree to keep me attached to civil reality. I have continued to do this throughout my life. This was a mistake. Most of the men I respect avoid ‘entanglements’ and build assets and that was my original disposition. I should have stayed with it. In other words, women are extremely expensive and a poor return until after you accumulate assets. So rent rather than buy the merchandise.

The problem is your testosterone misleads you as much as estrogen misleads women.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_JonesGENERATIONS: SORRY, BUT BOOMERS > JONES GENERATION > GEN X.

    Jones is a bridge generation.

That’s me, Gates, Jobs, Ellison and such.

We’re the ones who grew up with the oil crisis, iran hostages, and terrible unemployment, the first personal computers, space shuttle explosion, and the reagan revolution.

Did you have a TI? TRS-80? Commodore? Amiga? Apple 1?

Was the movie “Wall Street” your career ambition? Were you called a Yuppie? Did you wear skinny ties? Punk Much? Did you see the first star wars, alien, and blade runner in the theate? Did you read Neuromancer and snow crash when they came out and try to bring that world about?

The problem is that demographers use the rates of population and sociologists use the experiences and motivations. My generatoin has none of the slacker reputation of gen x, just the opposite.

We were raised with the highest expectations and promises, only to emerge into our teens to see the catastrophe of 1970’s, the consequences of the Great Society Movement, the crime, the drugs, the decay, the unemployment, the Carter administration and we sought opportunity in the technical revolution to work our asses off and make it big’

TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES. Hence the name.

    1) For every 1 percent increase in their hourly wage, low-wage workers saw a 3 percent reduction in the number of hours worked. As a result, they lost about $125 in earnings a month, clawing back the entire gain from the earlier hike and more.

    LET ME HELP YOU.

Trump knows how to play brinkmanship, and he is fully aware that everyone at the table understands that the bloodiest civil war in human history is hanging over Washington’s head. He cannot lose. The only way to win is to leave him alone and ignore him. Everything else just makes him more powerful, further reinforces the base, advances his longer term objectives of withdrawing the states from paying the costs of policing the worlds institutions of finance, transport, and trade.

People who work in bureaucracies, particularly in the civilized west, who have little knowledge of military and political history, who have never had the responsibility of building businesses at scale, particularly with little personal money, and particularly in a trade as corrupt as construction and the demands of construction in relation to state bureaucracies, unions, and foreign corruption are profoundly naive.

The most powerful method of management in an environment of mistrust is chaos, by which one applies long term pressure to achieve strategic ends.

It’s not complicated. It’s trivially simple. You just need financial and political independence, and minority of men willing to kill for you.

And that is because I do the same thing…..
