    SOFTWARE IN PARADISE

    Most of our team, and their WAGs are in Cyprus now, cleaning the pool at the villa. Hunkering down to write software in the good weather, warm sun, free of civil war.

    One of the great things about keeping your team small, is that you can do awesome stuff, like decide you want to work on a chaise lounge chair looking at the ocean. 🙂

    After running a large company with all the personnel issues, I just wanted to run something small (and profitable). And this is one of the reasons why.

    Sure it is taking us longer to get this product done, but Oversing is getting more and more amazing by the day.

    Making Jira look like old technology was one thing. Making Microsoft CRM look (and feel like) ancient bloated technology is something else. That will take us a little longer. Making Microsoft Dynamix look like antique technology will take longer still. Making Outlook look and feel like bloated antique software will take us the longest.

    But every single day we move the needle closer to reality.

    Can’t wait to pitch it to investors and watch the lightbulbs come on.

There is precious little difference between the church and the university liberal arts department except the anthropomorphized ‘we’ of a god has been replaced with the corporate ‘we’ of the state. In practice there is zero difference between them. Universalism whether under the edict of a mythical god, or the edict of a corporate state is equally unscientific.

    The cheapest most effective fighting force that a country can have is a well organized militia on the model practiced by the Swiss.

    Require all men of able body to participate in the militia. Give them basic training. Require them to keep LOCKED and UNLOADED arms securely. Develop basic defense plans. Hold training once per year for two weeks. Rehearse the plans.

    What you will get out of it is a very fit set of men. And a country that cannot be oppressed, invaded, or conquered.

    Laws on paper are meaningless unless every man stands behind it and is willing to die for it.
