Um, I realize that in other cultures, initiating a conversation by saying hello, or waving, or something of that nature is good manners. but I”m an american and a rather anglo-saxon american, and I just prefer you directly ask me questions. Spammers and people with gentle manners are indistinguishable. So pls just ask questions don’t wave etc. I don’t respond.

I mean, we used to play garbage can bowling, egging, and toilet papering, throwing snowballs at cars, lighting gasoline in the road as cars approached, putting scotch tape across the road between signs, whistling at girls, prank phone calls – and pranks like stealing signs and putting them on flag poles. I did stuff I shouldn’t have like rearranging cones in the road, and road signs. But all of these things were essentially pranks. But crimes? No. I do know people who did petty crimes like shoplifting and minor b&e, just for the fun of it.

    CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS

War and pillaging are the most profitable entrepreneurial undertakings that a group of men can undertake. Not only because one brings home the dividends, but because one can take territory, reduce competitors, and create dependents who may be taxed by your family, tribe, clan, and nation. Policing is expensive but pillaging is wonderful. Look at the Prussians, Napoleon the British, and Caesar…..

So this year, hang an ornament on the tree, burn a yule log, share a family feast, and sharpen your weapons.

Because war and pillaging make christmas possible every day of the year!

NIT: English has 470k words in the OED, and estimates of 1M, if we account for synonyms and references rather than just spellings, with 1.2-1.5M if we account for what are two and three word terms in english but one word in a compound language like german, and then there is scientific terminology. English is a very low context high precision language especially suited for science and law. (Although german appears to be better for engineering because it evolved to be.)

—“The adult bobcat is 18.7 to 49.2 in long from the head to the base of the tail, averaging 32.6 in; the stubby tail adds 3.5 to 7.9 in and its “bobbed” appearance gives the species its name.

An adult stands about 30 to 60 cm (12 to 24 in) at the shoulders. Adult males can range in weight from 14 to 40 lb, with an average of 21 lb; females at 8.8 to 33.7 lb, with an average of 15 lb.

The largest bobcat accurately measured on record weighed 49 lb, although unverified reports have them reaching 60 lb. Furthermore, a June 20, 2012 report of a New Hampshire roadkill specimen listed the animal’s weight at 60 lb. The largest-bodied bobcats are of the subspecies L. r. gigas and range from eastern Canada and northern New England.

The bobcat is muscular, and its hind legs are longer than its front legs, giving it a bobbing gait. At birth, it weighs 0.6 to 0.75 lb and is about 10 in in length. By its first birthday, it weighs about 10 lb.”—Jack RiänBobcats are pretty scary, but I’ve never had a more nerve-wracking experience than being leaned up against a tree during a turkey hunt and seeing a mountain lion looking directly at me from a stone’s throw distance, unsure of whether or not I’m actually there.Dec 22, 2018, 2:24 PMCurt Doolittleyeah. Whoever goes by the handle “Singular Discourse” … Just wanted to thank you again for the brief introduction you wrote in ’16. I’ve editing the Overview of Propertarianism to include pretty much everything you wrote. Why? Because your writing is wonderfully clear and parsimonious.

James is one of those guys you get into a negotiation with, and you just stop and say ‘damn you are good’. And you appreciate your opponent’s use of the art form. This is not uncommon between competitors. It actually makes the competition enjoyable – unless you’re the victim of that competitor because you can’t play the game at that level.
