Neural economy is a simple thing. Neuroticism is a simple thing. Combine uncertainty from social scale (population size), decreasing individual relevance and therefore mutual insurance, neuroticism, and neural economy and you get the obvious. Smart people have an advantage.

@curtdoolittle @JayMan471 (3) Other than that I agree with sense of control, myths persist in human cultures because of the brain’s biological need to impose order on the world. Our parietal lobe insists on conjuring up a cause & effect, even if it happen to be metaphysical riddles.

The problem with economics, which Taleb states somewhat poorly, is selective accounting of measured capital and the use of pseudoscientific, quantitative sophism (innumeracy), and linguistic sophistry, to obscure export of cost and risk, without warranty of due diligence.

@curtdoolittle @JayMan471 Based on a specific scientific theory? I assume your theory is not be-all & end-all of this subject?Theories are always based on ceratin types of evidence & reasoning,if it within the realm of economic theory it is also highly probable that it will never be proved consclusively.

That conversation (whether other than tautological via-positiva is possible) or whether all we can do is due diligence via-negativa. We can run a series of tests wherein the speaker can testify to a proposition and therefor make a truth claim – or not. Too deep for here.

3) I have outlined and posted a complaint for a Class against FB/G/T but one must take action once it’s clear the State has failed (it has clearly failed.) FB can easily fill the middle ground between infrastructure (platform) and publisher with the remedies demanded.

Is anyone going to do anything about internet censorship? When private companies (which control access to a public space) get to censor under the guise of vague and conveniently applied “terms of service”, how does the average person have a chance?

1) There are three options. a) compete with a superior platform, b) class action, c) civil(uncivil) action. The Class action was invented for just this purpose during the civil rights era. It has largely been used for commercial purposes. I can easily be used for civil purposes.

I separate what I intuit, from what I can write a proof for, from what groups express in normative and legal force. That’s the purpose of my work: to produce a formal operational logic that makes in nearly impossible to engage in the pretense of knowledge, or ignorance of bias.

@curtdoolittle @JayMan471 Ok, do you ever think about your own thinking? I know many people who are not fully aware of the influences that affect it, it can include fairly basic things as preconceptions, biases & certain things that they take for granted, gaps in the relevant knowledge.

I think the people that want me to solve this problem are right that I need to solve this problem. I think the people that want to collectively solve the broader problem are just about at the tipping point.

True. People are retreating to nonsense to gain a sense of control.

Anti-vaxxism, Flat Earthism, and Blank Slatism are all rising in good part thanks to the internet. Think of it: free access to information is making people *more* ignorant. Does it get any more ironic than that?

It’s fascinating how many videos and articles have been written over the past two weeks on what NOT TO DO when writing, in order to avoid catastrophic failures that Dan and Dave have brought to Game of Thrones. Now, we’ll see them ruin Star Wars’ brand even further.#GameofThrones
