Neural economy is a simple thing. Neuroticism is a simple thing. Combine uncertainty from social scale (population size), decreasing individual relevance and therefore mutual insurance, neuroticism, and neural economy and you get the obvious. Smart people have an advantage.

@curtdoolittle @JayMan471 (3) Other than that I agree with sense of control,myths persist in human cultures because of the brain’s biological need to impose order on the world. Our parietal lobe insists on conjuring up a cause & effect, even if it happen to be metaphysical riddles.
