I’m not sure that’s right Dr Peterson, in the sense that women are not bound by the reciprocal threat between males as they were prior to 1900. Duel, Libel, Slander, and Scold were effective for both genders.

No. The united states proved that as the sole remaining postwar economy, it could pay for the international system of finance and trade by imposing it by force on the world, after inheriting the british empire’s role of doing so.We no longer can afford to. Everyone has caught up.

@curtdoolittle Historically empires arose as a means to regulate trade by sea or long vulnerable land routes.
UK in 20th century proved that many small countries could still follow common law, protect sea trade, respond in coordinated way to disaster, without one big Navy. But…the Falklands.
