    Prof Robert Plomin, best behavioral and population geneticist on the planet, summarises 40 years of behavioral and population genetics in his wonderful book “Blueprint” last year. Despite being a massive leftist he states that it is definitive that, in the West at least, it is genetics that makes us who we are and that the environmental contributions to each of us are random noise; unknowable, unpredictable, and uncontrollable in principle. There are essentially no systemic or institutional environmental effects on individual’s in the West. If there was this research would have found it by now – and as we all know leftist geneticists are highly ideologically incentivised to look for it. Genetics is indeed all that matters.

    P, like everything new, is hard until it’s not. There are many popular thinkers and commentators now that are taking to not differentiating between “hard” and “new.” I like this for the effect it has on framing. It’s only hard cause it’s new; and it’s only new cause you just finished. 😉

    P is simple; and quite frankly proper. The expulsion of deception solves for communicative misunderstanding (as saying “I understand you” when I don’t is a lie; deception). And if we don’t misunderstand each other than meaning can be relayed without delay.

    Only liars stand in the way; and if they don’t like being called liars… well, they ought to stop.

    The only principal difference is that monogamy in “pagan” world included sexual relationships with concubines and slaves within the same household as a lawful sexual activity, with progeny either being accepted as slaves or officially adopted by household owner, or becoming “proletariat” through an official practice of abandonment.

    Jewish monogamy narrowed down what was allowed significantly, but not entirely – sexual relationships with slaves persisted in Jewish households under Ottoman empire.

    Christianity almost entirely got rid of concubines and slaves as acceptable sexual partners and out-of-wedlock progeny was reduced to historical minimum for centuries up until 20th century.

    Counting Islam as Abrahamism, it was a significant step backwards with a return of official practice of concubinage, slavery and multiple wives.

    The “accident of birth” argument falls apart when you reject dualism.

    I mean that accident of birth implies that it’s an accident your consciousness (soul) got assigned to your body rather that consciousness being produced by the body.

    So when someone asks me something like: “What if it was you in that situation?”, I respond with: “I am a product of a specific time, place, genetics and experience. It wouldn’t be me in that situation, it would be someone else.”
