  • Good Books on Russian Art and History

Russian history was fairly heroic before the (((Soviet))) era. It’s the american west with worse weather against more advanced peoples with even more viscous traditions. I studied history first, but I studied art history second, and it was art history that helped me understand the different peoples of this world more so than any other. Economics explains why things happen but art gives you insight into the soul of the people and what inspires them. So this …. russian aesthetic … frames my understanding of them as ‘we few against the world’. So there are very good books on russian art history. And just skimming through them is probably important. This is the best ‘textbook’ I’ve seen: 1 – A History of Russia – by Nicholas V. Riasanovsky, Mark D. Steinberg 2 – The Great Game: The Struggle for Empire in Central Asia, by Peter Hopkirk 3 – The Icon and the Axe: An Interpretive History of Russian Culture by James H. Billington 4 – Medieval Russia’s Epics, Chronicles, and Tales by Serge A. Zenkovsky 5 – While Shakespeare is undoubtably the best poet, the best Novels and Plays in Christendom are the Russian – bar none. The great works of the russian novelists are well known. So, I see russians as a small poor people, in a hostile territory, struggling to overcome the barbarians. My view of russians is fairly heroic. That they made a terrible mistake with (((stalin and trotsky))) is something I see them escaping – slowly. The problem is it probably can’t be done domestically better than putin is doing it. His mistakes have been largely international. And he’s right. Russia emerged from the (((bolshevik))) era by return to her origins. And the west is continuing to fall for the (((cosmopolitan lies))). • —“If you were the President, and you wanted to destroy America’s power in the world and unity as a nation, what would you do?”—

This assumes American power is good thing (empirically, we have pretty much always been wrong in every single conflict). And it assumes it’s not a good idea to withdraw from the burden of continuing the British Empire’s network of finance and trade despite having dragged humanity kicking and screaming out of ignorance, poverty, and disease in the face of competition from marxism, communism, socialism, and its modern variation: islam. We are no longer asymmetrically advantaged either technologically, economically, or militarily, and we have even lost our demographic superiority through vast underclass immigration. So while the minds of children make moral and emotinoal judgements, those of us who have adult minds make empirical judgemnts. The answer is pretty simple: we can’t finance the world transformation from superstition to empiricism any longer because enough of the world has adopted our aristotelianism (empiricism, science, technology, law, markets) that it has been costing us quality of life since the 70’s. in other words, VIRTUE SIGNALING SO THAT YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF IS NO LONGER AFFORDABLE. But to answer the question: I would create power vacuums as did Obama and Carter rather than demand vacuums be filled by depriving other countries of subsidies. But this requires you understand not only economics, but capital. And strangely enough, mainstream (saltwater) economics, does not measure capital changes, only consumption.

What is the cause of Scandinavian (including British) virtue signaling and virtue spirals? I mean, seriously. It is just a wealth effect and the absence of competitors on borders?

Why does one justify a falsehood that provides him comfort and context if not to improve his ability to function? We developed mindfulness in the age of transformation for a reason: cooperation across tribal groups.

(Why are some people down on Nickelback? Because they stopped experimenting in order to keep in the mainstream? I mean, how many bands experiment their way into failure and lose the opportunity to inject novelty in a stream of wins. )

Do you agree with the assertion that some races have higher IQ than other races naturally?

I want to add what I believe the science currently tells us about differences in group intelligence.

    1-Differences in demographic distribution.

Rather than state that the races possess terribly meaningful differences, the data suggests pretty strongly that certain groups have expanded their middle and upper classes under agrarianism, and some have expanded their lower and subclasses under pastoralism.

    2- Success at Neoteny/Pedomorphism

In other words, ‘self domestication’ of certain groups was more effective largely because of geography. This is why intensity and rate sexual development is the inverse of intelligence in all groups. And this is measurable by testosterone in each race and subrace. Africans a lot, steppe/desert people a bit less, caucasians quite a bit less, and east asians a lot less. Why? Early maturity is absolutely necessary in Africa if for no other reason than the disease gradient. Late maturity or reduced depth of maturity (see body odor differences between races and ages), is beneficial in the rigours of above 45th agrarianism, and the genetic underclass cannot survive the seasonal cycles.

    3-Balance of Dimorphism.

Male and female brains differ in structure and chemistry. Verbal and spatial specializations (biases really) follow these differences. Some groups demonstrate both bias to the female reproductive strategy and verbal superiority, some balance, and some demonstrate the bias to male reproductive strategy and spatial superiority.

As far as I know all substantive differences in Homo Sapiens Sapiens are explicable by minor variations in endocrine expression both in utero and in early development.

And that our racial differences are largely due to (a) the generation we left africa or remained there, and (b) the degree of neoteny and balance we achieved during self-domestication, and (c) the number and diversity of competitors we faced in our geography.

And so far the data agrees.

Part Four (Closing) : why aren’t we all conducting the natural evolutionary research program and therefore why isn’t this specialization in wants rather than monopoly desirable? Isn’t the answer to return to the reason for european rapid advancement: specialization?
