Form: Project Update

  • Our Site Update (bug fixes etc)

    UPDATES:

Well, less time on FB makes for much higher productivity. Mostly because of less task switching.

    1. Bug in APLLY01 Application For Courses > Terms Quiz Fixed.
There was a bug that repeated questions confusing the user.  The bug was in serialized text data (a messy concatenated string)  and it required rebuilding everything except the course container.  The Quiz (Terms Questions) now functions properly and grades properly.

Note that the location of the Next, Previous, Complete buttons does bother me, but I assume most people are more attentive that I am. lol…  I hope.
    2. Added simple intro to how to use the site for newbs.
    3. The width of the text on pages is now limited to 80% of the viewport so there is more white space and the text is more readable.
    4. Added more content to the FAQ
    5. Completed the About Us Page (Our Mission etc.) and used some aphorisms just for marketing purposes.
    6. Every version the developers release for the Theme breaks the footer and I have to rebuild it manually. I am going to flatten it to straight HTML. The only reason to tell you is that if you don’t see it, that’s why.   Takes me 35 minutes every time.
    7. Removed the unnecessary header for the Social Media system for better readability.
    8. Removed photo backgrounds from the headers, and shortened the space to the minimum necessary for the page title.
    9. Removed the slider on the front page and replaced with static.
    10. Pomen has been justifiably chasing me to work on the Store but I haven’t had time so now I suppose I can make some. 😉

    More soon….

  • Site Update: Performance+

Site update: Performance should be significantly better. Halved loading speed. Removing the social doesn’t affect it at all. So we keep the social. If we flatten the site it will get even better, but I can’t afford the time to convert this Theme from programmatic to flat. Thanks for patience.

    UPDATE: PROPERTARIANISM – SITE SHARING
Not quite sure what is happening. I’m going through and bulk updating the titles and posting dates of data imported from facebook, and it seems to be sending out new post announcements rather than just updating the content. Sorry.

    FYI: via CD

Eric, I have all the tweets from the missing time period, and all the images sent via tweets. I think data loss is less than I thought. The reason being that (a) anything important I posted to the site already, (b) most of the posts this summer are short because (c) i’ve been working on the course and book content. So at least I have an inventory list if I can’t get fb to give me my data.

    INTERESTING OBSERVATION.

Posting material from 10 years ago. Not sure it’s helpful. Still testing it. Reason? I’d rather keep it all FB and drive people to the Blog then the Institute.

But here is an interesting observation:

When I started writing a lot in 2009, I wrote almost entirely about economics – just as the influence economists had on policy came to an end (the failure of mainstream economics in political theory.) I thought I would build an audience doing little more than daily falsifying claims by left leaning economists.

Around that same time I was working on a draft of the constitution and hit the problem of epistemology because it wasn’t possible to write a constitution without saying what a falsehood consisted of.

I spent most of my time on that series of problems working from what we all call metaphysics today (what I call grammars) on up through the skeleton of aristotelian categories (philosophical) by merging them with scientific and legal categories.

Sorta got stuck on religion and really had the problem figured out by last summer, but has taken me the past year to test and define a solution to it, and put it into our institutions. Religion really was the hard problem of social science – and it still is the primary impediment to restoring western civilization.

After 2016 work is mostly about natural law and constitution. Stuff that burned me out was the constitution. And rewriting the first part of the book last fall. I dont’ know why I”m more productive in spring and fall. no idea.

John and I have been working the revolutionary angle since last fall (2018). My original intention (2012) was to de-christianize libertarianism (rule of law) by restoring the dirty word “force “(or violence) to the discourse on rule of law, thereby prohibiting men from claiming virtue without warranty of insuring it with risk and force. This was an attempt to overturn rothbard and hoppe’s ‘pussytarian’ libertarianism, and restore anglo saxon rule of law of sovereign men, not liberty(Permission for local jurisdiction), or freedom (Permission to enter the market for goods, services, and labor).

    SUMMARY
I have seen our country go from debate over economic means of administration to the verge of another civil war in just ten years, and I know that the answer is the acceleration under the Obama administration, and the general left’s presumption it would win due to third world immigration legal and illegal, despite the failure of its ideas.

Main account, yes, but I have everything.
We’re moving everything to the Institute Page and reloading the historical content, absent the silly stuff. 😉
