–“CURT: Q: How is ego death caused by hallucinogens?”–

    1) Primarily, by overriding one of the serotonin receptors widely used in the brain, and particularly in perception, cognition, and mood, causing overstimulation of the networks overcoming existing pathways in both inhibitory and excitatory neurons.

    2) As a result, a disruption of the Default Mode Network (your ‘frames of reference’ when you’re at rest) – thinking, daydreaming, and the sense of self that results from the patterns in that default (dominant) network.

    3) Next, given that the brain is composed of neurons that both individually and collectively produce a prediction engine, where down in the hippocampal region, episodic memory continuously formed, and auto-associates all current stimuli in time and space to past episodes and their components and features, the result of network disruption is a decrease in ability for, and reliance on, prediction – and an increased dependence upon and emphasis of sensory stimuli.

    4) As a result, without the previous ‘frictions’ (think adding more voltage or current) we experience increased brain activity (‘Well, with all this traffic let’s take the back roads and explore!’) breaking down the isolation of habitual networks, making possible novel thoughts, and even leading to the comingling of senses (synesthesia). So the brain makes different associations whether past, present, or anticipated future, allowing for different valuations and relations between networks that form the elaborate set of relations between memories.

    5) Resulting in a feeling of disassociation from the prior ‘self’ (that set of default networks, memories, and valuations, past present and future) whether within the self or between the self and the outside world.

    6) As a result, these hallucinogens also affect the balance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters – changing synaptic plasticity (adaptability), amplifying or inhibiting signals as a consequence and this further degrades the ability for the brain to form the complex networks necessary to preserve the default modes and default networks that create the sense of ‘stability’ of self (measurements) over time, and increasing disassociation.

    7) The result of that disassociation is the possibility of forming different associations between sense, perception, valuation, experience, and memory, as a result – meaning there are fewer roadblocks – particularly valuative and emotional, thereby ‘resetting’ your default network’s system of ‘measurement’ – into a new state of ‘homeostasis’ (resting state) usually a more ‘calm’ state. And this process can be employed multiple times if necessary.

    8) Why? Because in this calm state of disassociation, all new associations favor concurrency with this state. This is the reason why the environment and people you share ‘disassociation with’ has such an influence on your hallucinogenic experience: whatever state you disassociate into will form the emotional and valuative ‘system of measurement’ that new network associations seek to agree upon “commensurability, coherence, consensus, cognitive-emotional homeostasis”. (Terms I use often.)

    9) Keep In Mind:
So I want to restate the obvious for those who understand the extraordinary value of medical use of hallucinogens: It’s the relationship between your environment, the people in it, and your current emotional state that the hallucinogens allow you to adapt to. Hence the success of clinics in creating rooms that are oddly reminiscent versions of 1970’s positive sensory stimulation and reprogramming rooms so to speak. Or, for those more dependent on social regulation, positive feelings of people around you sharing the same experience.

    10) Ego death is the result of breaking down default networks and systems of measurement that you percieve as ‘yourself’ and causes you to rely on present sensory stimuli, and in doing so cause your brain to attempt to create new stable networks (homeostasis) under the new conditions, that will persist after the hallucinogens have worn off. As this process is incremental it may require multiple sessions in the right conditions to migrate these neworks. And that migration can only occur if one reaches the state of disassociation.

Neurologically it’s not that complicated. The brain is organized to sense the current state and seek bodily homeostasis by predicting the changes in the mind and body necessary to restore homeostasis. The hard part is providing a means for it to do so quickly and easily. And it turns out, well, we found one. 😉

I’m sure someone has written this same operational description before though I haven’t encountered it. And the academic literature often misses the point – the audience wants to understand the operational (mechanical) means by which these processes work, not the biochemical which they cannot sense and perceive.

So I hope you found this useful. It’s not magical. In fact it’s rather ordinary – at least, once you understand it.

    Cheers All

I love the common people because, at least for the working, lower middle, and middle classes, they are largely more moral than those above and below them.
And the purpose of my work is to free them from predation by the credentialist talking classes that daily abuse them.
Unfortunately, every attempt I have made to form any relationship with the common folk has resulted in frustration and disappointment.
Frames of reference and therefore terms of decidability are too vast a chasm to cross.
No matter what you do you cannot help people who cannot make use of the help.
It’s even worse with the educated common folk who, overestimate their competency, especially its transferability between domains. At least the common folk know they don’t understand. The educated common folk assume they understand.
And worse still because the lack of commonality encouraged by education and culture and media with the false promise of ‘You’re Special’ creates mental instability that is exaggerated by increases in the class structure that isolate people from feedback.
One of the reasons I enjoyed living in eastern europe is the the relative absence of false self image. Americans are … increasingly lower intelligence, less educated, more ignorant, and less capable, responsible, competitive, and durable than their ancestors.
(Women did it by the way.)

THE PROBLEM OF MODERNITY AND THE REASON WHY RELIGION FAILED AND LEFTIST PSEUDOSCIENCE AND IDEOLOGY ARE THE NEW CULTS.
Most humans are cognitively simple. Very. Most cannot grasp more than one dimension of causality, and the vast majority cannot grasp even one logical negative within that one dimension. Largely humans imitate, they rarely think and reason in any sense of the term because they lack the ability to.

It’s a miracle that we survive in modernity at all.

If there is a relative monopoly of frames of reference, and that frame varies little from the physical (material), natural (cooperative), and evolutionary (genetic, cultural, institutional) laws, then the burden of reason is reduced by the vast distribution of knowledge production transportation and incentives.

The problem is that religion can do so but at very high cost of resistance to evolutionary, cultural, and institutional development – because religion on its face does and must counter these laws. So one can produce a monopoly that is trivially easy to grasp, trivially easy to practice, but also trivially easy to stagnate, produce dysgenia, and decline.

So we must produce the equivalent of a religion that is relatively easy to grasp even if it takes training, but does not diverge from the Physical and Natural, and Evolutionary Laws.

Why Riots Against Immigration? It’s simple…

    1) THE REASONS WHY GOVERNMENTS TOLERATE IMMIGRATION DESPITE THE OBJECTIONS OF THE POPULATION
Q: Why are governments tolerating immigration over the objections of the populations?
    Answer
Governments often tolerate immigration despite public opposition due to a variety of reasons, including economic, demographic, and humanitarian considerations. Here are some factors that might explain this phenomenon:
    Economic
    • Prices+taxes: Economic Benefits: Immigrants often fill labor shortages in certain sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, construction, and healthcare. They also contribute to the economy through taxes and consumption.
    • Welfare, Retirement, Medical Care: Demographic Factors: Many countries are facing aging populations and declining birth rates. Immigration can help to offset these trends by bringing in younger workers and increasing the population.
    Political
    • Power Seeking – Political Considerations: Immigration can be a politically divisive issue, and governments may feel that it is politically advantageous to maintain a certain level of immigration.
    • Psychological, Status and Power Seeking – (Making other bureaucrats and diplomats (peers) customers rather than citizens. Humanitarian Considerations: Many immigrants are fleeing war, persecution, or extreme poverty in their home countries. Governments may feel a moral obligation to provide refuge to these individuals.
    Institutional
    • Holdover Ideological Statutes – Legal Challenges: Governments may face legal challenges if they attempt to reduce immigration levels significantly. Courts may rule that such measures violate human rights or other legal protections.
    • Holdover Ideological Treaties – International Agreements: Countries may be bound by international agreements, such as the 1951 Refugee Convention, which require them to accept certain categories of immigrants.
    2) WHAT PERCENTAGE OF NON-NATIVES, IN RELATION TO POPULATION AND URBAN DENSITY, PROVOKES REVOLT?
Q: What is the population and the percent of the population that is non-native minority or immigrant in those countries that have experienced revolts over immigration?
Answer: This is a list of European countries that have experienced public disapproval, demonstrations, riots, or threats of civil war over the issue of immigration:
    1. Sweden: Sweden has experienced significant public unrest related to immigration, including protests, riots, and even threats of civil war. In 2022, 10.4% of Sweden’s population consisted of immigrants, and 20.1% were foreign-born.
    2. England: England has also experienced public disapproval, demonstrations, riots, and threats of civil war over the issue of immigration. In 2021, 14.4% of England’s population was foreign-born.
    3. Belgium: Belgium has experienced public demonstrations and riots related to immigration. In 2022, 12.4% of Belgium’s population was foreign-born.
    4. Netherlands: The Netherlands has experienced public demonstrations and riots related to immigration. In 2022, 13.1% of the Netherlands’ population was foreign-born.
    5. Germany: Germany has experienced significant public unrest related to immigration, including protests, riots, and even threats of civil war. In 2022, 18.9% of Germany’s population was foreign-born.
    6. France: France has experienced significant public unrest related to immigration, including protests, riots, and even threats of civil war. In 2022, 10.3% of France’s population was foreign-born.
    7. Spain: Spain has experienced public demonstrations and riots related to immigration. In 2022, 11.4% of Spain’s population was foreign-born.
    8. Portugal: Portugal has experienced public demonstrations and riots related to immigration. In 2022, 5.4% of Portugal’s population was foreign-born.
    9. Greece: Greece has experienced public demonstrations and riots related to immigration. In 2022, 11.2% of Greece’s population was foreign-born.
These countries have taken political stances against immigration, either through legislation, opposition to EU policies, or public demonstrations and unrest. The correlation coefficient between the total population and the percentage of foreign-born individuals across the listed countries is approximately 0.267.  Meaning that anything approaching .3 at any scale will cause conflict.
    3) REASONS FOR THE COSTS THAT DRIVE TENSION AND CONFLICT
Q: Why do citizens revolt against immigration beyond single digits?
    Answer:
    1. All personal, social, economic, and political gains are the result of discounts on cooperation on the production, transformation, and consumption of energy, per moment of time.
    2. All cultural normative religious and legal rules serve as weights and measures that assist in producing discounts on cooperation in a given territorial developmental demographic and institutional
    3. All western civilizational difference result from three and a half millennia of increasing demand for individual responsibility for display, word, deed whether personal, private, common, or formal. The only peers are the Japanese, and differences are limited only to tolerance for competition and conflict given eastern in face before truth vs western truth before face, and the resulting consequences.
    4. All human differences originate in the ability and willingness to bear responsibility for the personal, private, common, and institutional. 5. All demographic groups differ in genetic, institutional, religious, and cultural, demand for individual responsibility for personal, private, common, and institutional.
    5. All Civilizational groups reflect genetic commonality in capacity for responsibility. All civilizational groups demonstrate variations in class size with lower classes less able to bear responsibility and upper classes more. Even as such, some less neotenous groups remain less able regardless of class, and more neotenous groups more able regardless of class.
    7. Reasons Immigrants and especially different ethnicities drive up costs.
    1. The Responsibility Gradient Density vs Lower vs Lowest (is This Person up To Something.) Urban responsibility is not only impossible but demand for authority increases because of it.
    2. The Feminine Mind Because of The Responsibility Gradient – women are the core of the west’s problem and single women the worst drivers of it.
    3. Race differences in Neoteny and Maturity, Aggression, Intelligence, Self Regulation: African, South Eurasian, East Asian, European.
    4. Culture (Stage of Development) Matters Even More – so does inbreeding.
    5. Religion Matters Much More than You’d Think – especially judaism and islam both of which are internal and external means of warfare not religions.
    6. Hot Take – the Problem Is Less Race than Islam- Confidence in Falsehoods. In other words, the world would be able to advance other than for islam, and perhaps judaism.
    4) CURRENT MULTIPLIERS OF INTERGROUP COSTS, TENSION, AND CONFLICT
    • – Inflation … all that debt had to result in inflation.
    • – War Risk and Trade – long term
    • – Housing Shortage
    • – Big Sort Consequence
    • – Collapse of production wages via offshoring (wage arbitrage)
    • – Overproduction of White Collar (legal, Finance, Government)
    • – Generational Transition Issues (The pet generations)
    • – Age of surplus capital ending at the same time workers are decreasing
    • – Intersexual market collapse and reproductive collapse.
    • – Nonsense – Degree education and debt instead of iq/personality test etc. and general collapse of education system including much of ‘higher ed’.
    • – Resulting collapse of minimum general knowledge in the population necessary for political participation.
    • – Repatriation of Industry – time required, and blue collar not white collar jobs
    • – Conversion back to military industrial complex (cultural, economic, political change)
    • – Ai’s not anywhere close and we’re already seeing low level labor cuts
    • – Millions of white collar post 1980 expansion will vaporize.
    • – End of low end web dev and demand for higher level ML and LLM (math)
    • – Apple b/c of I Phone Vulnerability to overseas production and assembly.
    • – N Vidia’s temporary monopoly vs Other Chip Makers building their own – and it hasn’t any moat.
    • – All Ai Chip Makers vs Neuromorphic Chips – neuromorphic chips will solve the pre-training, constant update, speed, and energy problems. That’s enough for now. You should get the idea. Immigrants are costly. Their costs are only invisible during periods of growth – and we aren’t having one and haven’t since the seventies.

As I’ve said since 2004, all this is playing out deterministically. And the coincidence of the many cycles is … well, creating gloriously ‘interesting times’.
Personally I’m excited – largely because of what I can learn. But I wouldn’t want to be in my teens or twenties today… Or for the next ten to thirty years. 🙁

  • THE SIMPLE VERSION OF OUR CONDITION Two basic concepts that are driving conflict

THE SIMPLE VERSION OF OUR CONDITION
Two basic concepts that are driving conflict are (a) the 25 years of temporary excessive wealth in the postwar period created a false promise that generated the sixties and (b) and the misapplication of care made possible by that temporary wealth during that period. This condition allowed the emergence of a false sensibility in the states that was then (c) abused by the marxist-communists-socialists uniting with the Progressives, and (d) amplified by the introduction of women into the workforce, the availability of abortion and the pill, and the catastrophe of no fault divorce, common property, alimony, and child support. The family is the foundation of civilization and the homogenous polity reduces all costs of subsequent gains from civiliztion.
The present crisis is the result of the false promises of those eras self falsifying by world re-equilibration into relative equality.

  • CAN WE LEGISLATE THE PROTECTION OF CHILD AND FAMILY FROM THE SCHOOL AND STATE? A

CAN WE LEGISLATE THE PROTECTION OF CHILD AND FAMILY FROM THE SCHOOL AND STATE?
    A qualified “Yes”.

We can impose legislation prohibiting state interference in a child’s development and the parental choice of that development, as long as we can provide the criteria by which to disambiguate the defense of the child and family from the state via the school, and the school’s function as a defense of the child from parental abuse. This problem of demarcation is actually the source of the capacity for the state to incrementally abuse parental and child rights.

This is our organizations category of mission. We can do this. I can do this. It is a non trivial problem like every other non-trivial problem we have solved. But precisely because it is a non trivial (hard) problem, it will require the entire staff to collectively input into the solution. I will be able to fulfill my usual function of integrating and consolidating but it will take the whole senior staff.

1 – The first, and canonical problem, is of course religion and health. That one is easy to solve.
2 – The secondary problem is one of risk and propagation of risk – again a problem of health care such as vaccines.
3 – The third is the discipline necessary to serve the spectrum of neoteny, dominance, impulse, self regulation in children given race, class, and developmental differences.
4 – The fourth is reversing the defensive and feminizing trend, and restoring competition and tolerance for status and self image that results from competition winning and failing, with training in mindfulness, rather than ‘everyone wins’.
5 – The fifth is the fitness, manners, ethics, morals, and traditions of the high trust population that the left has sought to undermine by avoiding competition, it’s consequences, and the mindfulness necessary to tolerate those consequences while one develops agency.
6 – The sixth is the nature of mankind, polity, and economy, which is taught as a system of lies by the left in order to produce their utopian vision – and the civilizational suicide that invariably results precisely because of the eradication of responsibility and competition and mindfulness despite the consequence of it.
7 – The seventh is teaching the western tradition of the priority of contribution to the informal commons by Sovereignty, Heroism, Duty, Reciprocity, Truth, Excellence and Beauty – all of which is a competitive structure attributing value to those who most contribute to the common good: meritocracy.
8 – The eighth is teaching practical skills instead of ideals: including mathematics, accounting, project management, contract, economics, the constitution of natural law, and geostrategy during high school, with as much emphasis or more than on physics, biology, and chemistry.
    The solutions are not impossible
    They are not even hard.
1 – They require gutting the education establishment.
2 – They require constitutional articulation of the purpose of education both primary, secondary, and post-secondary (Higher).
3 – And the requirement that universities carry the debt of their student loans, even if the debt supplied by the state, and to issue degrees certifying a graduate is fit for purpose (employable). Then separating employment degrees from fulfilment degrees which shall not be financed by the state.
4 – And lastly to prohibit the charging of money for false promises of freedom from the laws of nature or false criticism for man’s adaptation to the laws of nature (meaning the entire leftist program.)

THE DEVOLUTIONARY CYCLE OF PROGRESSIVE SOCIAL REINFORCEMENT OF IMPOSSIBILITIES
–“We attach, thoughts, emotions, and sensation and behaviors to one another creating our experience of maintaining homeostasis of our body, emotions, mind, and environment, which at some amplitude of stimulation to restore homeostasis causes us to alter our behavior from current state to a state satisfying demand for homeostasis. However, there is a cost of behavioral modification and a cost of uncertainty in modifying our behavior, and we will often resist or double down on maintaining behaviors existing behaviors we believe will restore homeostasis rather than pay the cost of adaptation under uncertainty to restore homeostasis – social reinforcement will amplify this resistance. Even worse, if we are pursuing some unattainable ideal, and it is socially reinforced, we will produce positive feedback for our existing behaviors even if this leads to self destruction. This explains leftist behavior.”– @BradleyWerrell

Q: “DOES THE INSTITUTE HOLD MORAL BIAS?”
At the institute, we work on the science of cooperation, or what in philosophy are called ethics and morality, and extended to politics, law, economics and group strategy.
    – The people the institute attracts, whether fellows certainly but followers more broadly, tend to intuit morality very closely to the science, and even more so after learning that science.
    – We generally vary in focus on applying the science to spheres of human life. We do not vary in understanding the science. We might vary a bit in how to apply it toward different ends given our theories of what conditions of man might be preferable for one group or another in the context of their population and competiors.
    – We construct that science from the first principles of the universe (physics) layer by layer through to neuroscience, to cognitive science, to demonstrated behavior, to social, political, civilizational, and evolutionary consequences.
    – And we unify the sciences in doing so using the first principles of language (universal grammar) which when stated in operational prose is the only system of measurement that is universally commensurable, scale-independent, and capable of unifying the sciences.
    – We apply this system of measurement to decidability (truth), and from decidability to jurisprudence, from jurisprudence to politics, and from politics to economics and geostrategy.
    – Then we propose constitutions, legislation, regulation, and policy to bring mankind closer to consistency and correspondence with the science so that we are in a state of minimum friction with one another and the laws of nature. And we modify our recommendations based upon demographic distributions of ability, and degree of institutional development.
    – So, while it is common to expect we are working on philosophy instead of science. Or that we working from moral intuition to philosophy. Instead, we’re working from the science alone.
    – This attracts a population of individuals whose moral intuitions least vary from the science, since it is most easily accessible to them and explains those question and solves those problems that they have observed. So it’s of greater value to them.
