(FB 1546385281 Timestamp) In 1996, Allora and I were travelling the UK. And I caught what was an epidemic level flu of either A(H1N1) or A(H3N2). I lost 30 pounds in a very short period of time. Partly because I did what seems to work for me, which is to bundle up and walk as much as I can. So I trundled around London and Canterbury, and Dover in layers under a Brooks Brother’s wool overcoat, scarf, wook cap, in the bitter cold, with the flu, with Allora as usual dragging me along. I have no idea why it is one of my fondest memories.

1. Seattle. 1st and Yessler. Galleries, Shops. Allora’s red hair in the sun. Coffee is big. Smells Like Teen Spirit. Key Arena. Fountain. Kids. Alice in Chains Rooster. Visiting other artists. Wall was down. Tech was like printing money. Everything was cheap. Anything was possible. And we were making it possible. And if you were there and lived through it, more so than the google/fb/sf thing, more than paris and berlin, it was geek paradise. That I got to live from 1980 to 2000 … I can’t believe .. only a few people get a chance like that a century.

(FB 1547821301 Timestamp) You know, there are two photos of me floating around, the first from a surprise-me morning interview at a coffee shop in Kiev, and the other from a morning interview in kiev where I’d woken in Lviv (a six hour trip), both of which were after having little sleep. Now, there are plenty of other photos rolling around, including publicity shots. And it’s kind of funny who chooses which photos depending upon whether they disagree or agree with my work. 😉 Photo editorializing in everything. Achieve through inference what cannot be achieved through argument. 😉
