THE PURPOSE OF MEMES, ARGUMENTS, AND THEORIES

—“Memes < arguments < arguments turned into memes”—Benji Buckles

That’s not quite right. Let me rephrase:

    3) Memes( distribution and advertising to opposition markets)

    2) Arguments (production and marketing to different markets)

    1) Theories (Research and Development regardless of market)

I do theories and arguments. I don’t do memes.

    ON CONSPIRACY THEORIES

    DEFINITION

A conspiracy theory is defined by four characteristics: (1) a group (2) acting in secret (3) to alter institutions, usurp power, avoid blame, obscure truth, or gain utility (4) at the expense of the common good.

    COMMON

At least 50 percent of the population believe in at least one conspiracy theory. The best predictor of belief in a conspiracy theory is belief in other conspiracy theories. The more highly educated a participant, the less likely they are to believe conspiracy theories.

Debunking conspiracy theories leads to a “backfire effect.” Efforts to debunk inaccurate political information leave people more convinced that false information is true than they would have otherwise.

    CAUSES

They feel a lack of control over their lives. If people feel they don’t have control over a situation, they’ll try to make sense of it and find out what happened. Ostracism increases superstition and belief in conspiracies. And it’s not because the isolation is making them insane—it’s really just a search for more meaning in life. The effort of sense-making leads them to connect dots that aren’t necessarily connected in reality. Conversely, feeling a sense of control protects against believing conspiracy theories. If you give people a feeling of control, then they are less inclined to believe those conspiracy theories.

CONFIRMATION BIAS – SEARCH FOR CONTROL

Human beings have a very natural tendency to take in information that fits their own perspective of the world. And we tend to reject information or reject evidence that we disagree with. And we do that for a very simple reason. We don’t like it when we feel wrong. We don’t like it when people tell us we’re wrong because that damages our psychological well-being. We don’t like thinking that our view of the world, our perspective of the world is incorrect.

So what tends to happen is that we look for information; we look for evidence that fits what we already know or what we already believe, and we try to avoid information or evidence that we either disagree with or that we know doesn’t fit with our perspective.

    TESTING FOR MENTAL ILLNESS

As far as I know, if you use the serial-definition method rather than cold surveys, give the above definition, give examples of those that were true and false, and categorize a selection of conspiracy theories by the following list, you would find most people are less crazy than they appear.

    0) Unlikely or simply false.

    1) Misunderstanding of events to obtain ‘sensible world’

    2) Intentional misrepresentation of events for attention and ‘sensible world’.

    3) external consequences of common interest

    4) conspiracy of common interest (following natural incentives without intention of doing bad)

    5) conspiracy of common interest in self protection.

    6) conspiracy to commit harm in excuse for creating some greater good (military nonsense).

    7) conspiracy to commit harm to achieve personal or group ends.

    8) conspiracy to achieve power for a group.

—“Incentives drive interest which creates intent. Conspiracies look at the end result and call foul play as opposed to using full accounting and stripping back the effect from the cause.”—Nick Zito

ALTRUISTIC PUNISHMENT: “I will bear a cost in order to impose a cost on someone for imposing costs on others.”

Directly, no one wins, it’s a lose/lose/lose; costs all the way around.

Indirectly, we all benefit from the maintenance of a normative commons that discourages people from imposing costs, negative externalities, on others or refraining from contributing to benefits, positive externalities, which are shared.

This is a common human behavior and it is impossible to understand human behavior, or the evolution of societies and polities, without understanding altruistic punishment.

I am a scientist. The function of science is to eliminate ignorance, error, bias, wishful thinking, suggestion and obscurantism, fictionalism, and deceit from our speech. The fact that you have confidence in intuition and less so in reason, is merely because you lack the ability to reason and the knowledge required to.

What you ‘believe’ is a measure of your stupidity : how much more evolution you require before converting from animal to human.

if you choose various beliefs, you are merely choosing to demonstrate your lack of evolution.

The question is whether humans continue to domesticate you, whether humans enslave you, or whether humans exterminate you. Since you animals cannot win against humans if we choose to enslave or exterminate you.

The only alternative is cooperation under natural law. Under which you can believe what you wish as long as you do no harm to the commons with it.

    Which is nearly impossible.

The term ‘exists’ is a precise word that can be misused for many purposes of deception. It is better to say ‘demonstrated’, ‘used’ or ‘known’ when referring to categories in memory, and to reserve existence for the physical. ie: perceived > experienced > known > demonstrated > existential. So, for example, we use the name hyperbole to refer to our oft demonstrated use of exaggeration for the purposes of illustration of some properties we wish to draw attention to. Does hyperbole exist, or is the term hyperbole known, and do people demonstrate that they use the term to refer to exaggeration? For hyperbole exist we require the ideal exist. For the term to be known, for people to act, and for things to exist. The ideal like the supernatural is a term that refers to something magical. knowing (remembering), acting, and existing are not supernatural.

I think, to preserve truth, we must distinguish between:

    1 – Scientists (physical scientists) and;

2 – Pseudoscientists ( psychological, social, economic, and; political pseudoscientists),

    3 – Pseudo-rationalists ( moral fictionalists, philosophers ) and;

    4 – Mystics (theologians, occultists);

What I’m trying to create is ‘testimonialists’ : the science of truthful speech. Which will end the lies of 2,3, and 4

THE SCIENCE OF TRUTHFUL SPEECH: TESTIMONIALISM

Operationalism provides a *measurement* of ordinary language by fully expanding all sentences, reducing all sentences to a series operationally and therefore subjectively testable statements. Then using precise definitions of terms, stated in operational language, whose limits we have calculated by enumerating all related terms in a series. Science requires measurements as a means of falsifying against ignorance, error, bias, wishful thinking, suggestion, fictionalism, and deceit. Strictly constructed, algorithmic expression of arguments in operational grammar: “actor, incentive, action, noun, change in state, result and resulting externalities”, produces a value neutral, subjectively (humanly) testable, language of truthful speech for the production of law, contract, argument, criticism, and illustration independent of value judgement.

  • GENDER (PHYSICAL), SEXUAL DRIVE(DEVELOPMENTAL), IDENTITY( PSYCHOLOGICAL) Gender

GENDER (PHYSICAL), SEXUAL DRIVE(DEVELOPMENTAL), IDENTITY( PSYCHOLOGICAL)

Gender drives (biases) are produced *developmentally*: in utero, during early development and through our transformative eras.

Sexual plasticity varies more in females than in males because females use attention, affection, and sex with the same utility as men use loyalty, argument, and physical transformation.

The process of gender development just like the process of brain development, is ‘fragile’, in that one cannot improve it but many things can impede it.

This process evolved to require both environmental(training) and physical factors.

The desocialization process of modernity, the decline in male influence in the maturation(training) process, and the trauma of the school vs home environment, and the loss of mother from the home, has had a substantial impact on the the developmental process.

As far as I know 1) homosexuality is determined in-utero, and 2) all ‘body identity’ or ‘gender identity’ ‘questions’ are defects in developmental training.

It is not clear that , however in large scale it affects trust-capital, normative capital, and calculability (organizational ability). as well as political decidability.

Why? *because the individual is irrelevant compared to the family, and because the family produces generations of increasingly superior inferior individuals, the consequences of which are superior or inferior competitive ability against other groups, against nature, against the universe.*

As far as I know, homosexuality cannot be ‘cured’ (and there is some evidence that a small amount of homosexuality in a population is a good thing) but it can be prevented as can many birth defects. As far as I know, gender identity questions are due to environmental-chemical, environmental-maladaption, and these are largely the result of problems of psychological development.

    So

    1) gender is genetically determined period.

    2) sexual attraction is both genetic and in-utero-developmental.

    3) Body image/identity (marketing one’s utility) problems are psychological problems that are repairable, but should not arise in the first place if we are sufficiently socialized.

The desperate need for identity when most people have no means of obtaining status signals, has encouraged doubling down on immaturity rather than devoting effort to maturity during the formative years.

The easiest solution to this problem is to return to gender separated schools (I went to a private boys school and my sisters to a private girls school, and I stayed in a mens only dorm in college) and to provide the same separation for developmentally challenged students so to speak.

This would assist in the reinforcement of gender excellences regardless of gender bias, but prevent problems of gender identity caused by developmental deficiencies in the environment.

Of course, if we just 1) cut school days to 4 hours (maximum possible utility of school), instead of treating school as day care; and 2) if we stopped subsidizing the underclasses so that taxes could return to pre-redistribution levels, and 3) that one income was sufficient for a family, then the problem would self correct.

Because it is a consequence of socialization under leftist influence.

The left has been a cancer for mankind. It’s the madness of women’s desperate instincts that her child must be worthy writ large.

LIBERTY(given by permission – body, action, and property),

SOVEREIGNTY(in fact – property and body),

AGENCY(in fact – action and thought)

To posses LIBERTY (of life and property) you must be given it by someone with the power to take it from you.

To posses SOVEREIGNTY (over your property) you have the ability to deny others the power to take it from you.

To possess AGENCY (action) you must have the ability to deny others the power to take it from you. and you must have sufficient mastery of self, and knowledge to do so.

LIBERTARIANS SEEK LIBERTY, WHILE SOVEREIGNS SEEK AGENCY
